Painted it blue, added an extra harddrive and a cold cathode....

Are people insane - Click Linkage for explanation....

Its called moding mate, if its done right it can be kool. If its done bad, while looking rush. Then it does not look kool, hopfully next year.

Microsft will produce there own 360 versions with a side window, while support HD DVD which will be supported next year folks.

But it won't cost US$ 7800.... (At least I hope for M$)

$78000... with 4 days left

Some people...

Some people are so ignorant it scares me. That's probably some mother of some 13 year old and she thinks it's going to blow him away on Christmas morning. Or maybe it's just a young punk with too much cash.

Either way, the creator is brilliant for doing it and is going to get paid.

The mods probably cost around US$ 100. A 60 gig harddrive - a cold cathode and some paint.. Time consuming and nicely done of course - but still - US$ 7800..

I looked up the high bidder and he always pays, plus he has a very good feedback score.

Scary. The guy must have a lot of money. More money than sense anyway. $7900!

how did the bid manage to go down?? earlier when i checked it was at $7,800.00 now its at $7,000.00??

Its not real gold. Plus if it was heavey gold, it would break off the front of a 360 mates.

How would it break off the front of the Xbox 360? This is attached to the unit as a faceplate, how would it actually break off a part of the unit?

Probably real gold, I know I wouldn't buy it so I don't really care. :) (It does look quite nice, although a gold Xbox would be nice ;))

Wow that has to be one of the most brillent thing I've seen in a while. If people are stupid enough to pay that kinda of money for it I say more power to the modder.

Probably a gold powdercoat or heavy-duty leaf-job. It would be pretty typical to find it in Snoop Dogg's house, though, I must say.

And a hunk of solid gold that size, I'd say it weighs roughly 10lbs, not nearly enough to break off the front of Xbox 360 faceplate. Hell, I had 40lb dumbells sitting in awkward positions on top of my regular plastic-body Xbox (1) (for reasons of lack-of-space-on-floor) and there's no damage or visible stress lines.
