So what stores have we seen this early at?

I may try to stop and check a few places on my way home tonight to see if this is on any shelves.

Anybody have any luck finding the game early?

If so what stores?

Or what stores may I have the best chance of finding it early?
 
I would try Walmart, Sears, and Best Buy. Don't even try to go to Gamestop or EBGames...they are Nazi's when it comes to release dates and they will not sell till 10:00am on the 24th.

I tried the Gamestop I pre-ordered from and they were strait up a-holes about it. I'm thinking I wasn't the first one who tried to score my copy early.

My friend almost got a copy at Walmart. He looked for someone who he thought wouldn't know anything about games and said he couldn't find any help in electronics. After the salesman brought it out of the back of the store another employee stopped him and told him it wasn't allowed to be sold yet.

Yea, but Game Stop never releases things early unless they get official word too..
 
Well if you are on the west coast or the pacific northwest to be exact, it would seem fred meyer broke street date and I am on my way to go pick mine up in federal way. I will post details when I return.
 
I'm getting REAL sick of dealing with water head employees of Walmart and Meijer. I've called a total of 8 stores and none of them were able to "find" the game in "the back."
 
I just called Best Buy and the girl asked me what system I wanted it on..lol.

She then came back an said "Yes sir...we do have them in stock!"...I then said..."So, I can come pick it up?"..

Then she replied "Actually...we WILL have them in stock..they don't go on sale till tomorrow".
 
Im in Michigan actually. Ill check BB, Target and Meijer. I have to go out of my way to pass a wal mart, so ill probally skip there, unless I hear theyre putting them out.

I used to work at wal mart and the thing is the games, and movies and books as well for that matter, all come in boxes with the street dates printed on them and explicitly say do not sell until XXXXXX. I think we would have to find a place that somehow wasnt paying attention to that and just put them out with the rest of the tuesday releases.

Why is it releaseing on a wedensday anyway? Just to mess with people..anyway

I doubt if its in a box in the back anyone would be able to get someone to pull one for them. Thats why you have people saying they have it but cant sell it.

I mean itd be nice to get to try it tonight, but its really not that big a deal
 
I just called a store in Los Angeles to see if they were going to be selling gt5 at midnight and the stoner on the phone said to call them at four o clock today thats when they get there shipments in and I asked are you selling them then and he said yea. I will post an update after they get there shipment with the store name (dont want a million people calling them, got to get my kool aid first) thats if they are actually selling it.
 
Yea the chick that picked mine up from behind the counter asked me if it was an xbox 360 game and she couldn't find it. Then I was like no its on the ps3 and she was oh duh! Lol
 
I was at my Gamestop yesterday to pay off the remaining balance, the guy said they had the games in the back room waiting, unfortunately he wasn't up to accepting a bribe, even more unfortunate is that I don't get a midnight release. What a load of crap.

Experiencing the same thing with Walmart. Tried 5 different Walmarts all with the same result.

My Gamestop wouldn't give it to me, admitting it was in the store, so I cancelled my order and told them I'm going to Walmart at midnight. I'm about to try Blockbuster.
 
JNL in nyc has the standard GT5 in stock right now for sale. They don't know if they will get the CE GT5 in.

I'm also in Michigan. My wife called Meijer, Target, Gamestop and Radio Shack and so far I haven't found anyone with it.
 
I have not checked yet but Fry's Electronics usually puts stuff out as they get it. They like to move merchandise. So all of you West Coasters (USA) out there might want to check it out
 
I went to best buy, meijer and target today.

In best buy, the guy said they go on sale tomorrow.
In Mejier the guy said they will probably get them thursday or friday

In target the guy checked on his scaner that showed him they have it in the back. I was soooo excited by that. He comes back with the game and shows it to me. Then when he scanned it at the register, it showed him he cant sell it. He couldnt go around the huge box on the screen. I was really dissapointed after having it in my hands but unable to buy it early. I guess I can wait till tomorrow when my amazon order comes.

I had the same experience. I went to two Best Buy's, Bird RD and Dadeland and both told me they had it but refused to sell it to me. Such a tease :(

And I have to travel out of town tomorrow :grumpy: before Play N Trade opens :crazy: And I won't be back till Thursday so I'm delayed a day. :sick:

I will try and see if my CE pre-order in this evening (before closing) and see if they will give it to me early :scared: (It's all paid for already); please I promise not to open it till 12:01 a.m. :)

Ive heard the same thing, actually from a manager when I worked at Wal Mart, that if a store was caught selling dates merchindise early they would be fined as well, from what they said it was a lot too. You do make a good point though, who exactly are the early selling police lol.

True or not thats what they think and that why they wont sell it early and it seems that even they have the registers locked down as well.

i called earlier today and the guy said they hadn't gotten anything

then i stopped by tonight on my way home from work to ask if they had the CEs in yet, as i haven't gotten a call on pre orders yet, and shes just like,
"the game is out tomorrow"

so i ask, i just want to know if you have it in your posession yet
"the game is out tomorrow"

and then every subsequent quesiton I ask
"the game is out tomorrow"

god forbid she answer a simple quesiton
 
I had it in my freaking hands at KMart, they had it out to put on the shelves. Guy goes to ring me up, and the dreaded "BEFORE SELL DATE" comes up on the screen, hence he can't sell it to me.

Sooooooooooooooooo close.
