So, who still has a PlayStation2?

Nice Slash. I remember the day I got mine. Got it out and it didn't work. Contacted Sony, and without even testing it, they gave us a new one. It's still my favourite console, and I still go on it from time to time.

I got the slim first and then picked up 2 fatties for free. Fatties were the best.

Buy network adapter (cheap as matches box), put HDD inside and install Freeloader on memory card. You are ready to go :)

I use mine PS2 from time to time, I'm planning to play some

soon, as it was so much disappointment for me when it was out so i didn't play it so hard like i did with 2097 and wip3out.

I love this console, i had FAT one to fully equipped 👍

Both fat and slim. My slim kinda just sits on the shelf, but when I do play, I play my fat PS2. I had all kinds of accessories. I had like 3 wireless controllers, network adapter, HDD, 3 or 4 memory cards, and an absolutely countless number of games. I'd have to say somewhere around 150-200 games total.

Yep. I still have my slim version PS2. It's in great working order and I recently bought a brand new controller for it, as my old one was a bit worn down and used, or shall I say, completely un-usable because of how much Gran Turismo 4 was played back in the day. It would steer to the right by itself which made racing annoyingly difficult. :grumpy:

I do! I do! I've got a slim and a fatty with a network adapter. Although I only use the slim, for practical reasons. Funnily, it still gets more playtime than my PS3. But that's basicaly due to the massive amount of great titles it has to offer. Love it to death.

At the moment, I'm looking into adding another gem to my collection that I never had the chance to play - TRD3 that is, since Codemasters obviously can no longer make proper racing games. And still have many more to discover.

I'd have to sell all of my PS1 and PS2 games if I sold my PS2. I still have my 2001-ish PS2. Yes- the one with the i-Link ports. Where I've seen games load up in less than three seconds from the PS2 boot screen, mine takes about 10 seconds. Yep- still have my PS2.

I still have my PS2, never planning on selling it. Its also easy to make home made repairs to it so I don't need to take it to the shop and spend money to get it fixed all the time

I still have mine. I've got the Slim version. In my opinion the PS2 was and is the greatest gaming console EVER!! I've got TONS of games for mine, including:
Need For Speed Most Wanted
Need for Speed Carbon
Need for Speed Pro Street
Need for Speed Underground 1 and 2
NASCAR Racing 2003
Star Wars the Force Unleashed
Medal of Honor Frontline

Yup, all connected too though I gave most of the games away to a colleague's grandchild becaue I felt sorry for him. I think I may have converted hime to GT...

We still have:
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System
Timesplitters
Timesplitters: Future Perfect
Richard Burns Rally

All Ratchet & Clank
All Destroy All Humans
Battle Engine Aquilla
Panzer Front Ausf. D
Need For Speed: Most Wanted

Plus a few that I don't play.

I just recently took it apart and cleaned both laser lenses (one is hidden under the other one) and readjusted the laser at the same time.

Now it reads all my PS2 games, including many which didn't work at all, as it did at the first day and I couldn't be happier.

A fat model from 2001.
The disc tray cover piece is gone but it works perfectly.

Only thing was the disc reader had to be cleaned once, and that was years ago.

I have a silver PS2 slim that is still like new, also have the RGB cable set for it so I can get 480p from it.

Still have my fatty that I play NASCAR Heat and Gt3 on. I I love you NASCAR Heat. Bring back Sierra Gaming please.

Have several fatties,, two of which are hooked up to huge 4:3 Sony crts for linked Time Crisis. I think the PS2s + tvs + guns + games cost under $100 all up. Would have been but a dream back in the day.

Still have my release day PS/2 still works as good as the day I bought it. Skipped out of work to line up to get it 😏

I've got a slim from when that model first came out. Still runs perfectly and reads all my games. I've not got too many - a fair amount were left with my family for my younger sister mostly, when I went to university - but it touches on some good ones:

  • Beyond Good & Evil
  • Burnout 3
  • Crazy Taxi
  • Destroy All Humans
  • Destroy All Humans 2
  • Enthusia
  • Final Fantasy X
  • Final Fantasy X-2
  • Final Fantasy XII - This stayed wrapped for over two years, somehow!
  • Gran Turismo 3
  • Gran Turismo 4
  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
  • Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
  • Katamari Damacy
  • We Heart Katamari
  • Marvel Vs Capcom 2
  • Metal Gear Solid 2
  • Metal Gear Solid 3
  • Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks
  • Sonic Mega Collection Plus
  • Star Wars Battlefront
  • Star Wars Battlefront II
  • Street Fighter Alpha Anthology
  • Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3
  • Tourist Trophy

It's hooked up to the main living room TV and still enjoys the odd play. When I first met my girlfriend, she borrowed it and some of the games for a while before she got her PS3, and it sold her on a few series (MK, even though the normal games were different from Shaolin Monks, and Katamari).

I still have a slim one that I bought after my previous 2 had failed. One died from a electric surge throughout the house which killed every electric appliance we had, caused by our British summer weather.

The slim one still works fine, enjoys a play now and then, I still have the old GTAs and GTs for it. I couldn't ever get rid of it, especially now that PS4 will not play the games.

Yep, an early one too, bit slower than it used to be but never missed a beat in the 11/12 years we've had it. (The opposite can be said for its successor!)

Still have mine. A far model. I use Swap Magic to play a gang of Imports. Shmups, and various licensed games (Saint Seiya's, Kamen Rider's, etc).

Me, but mine doesn't work that good anymore.

And this freaks me out-

Do not get me started on that screen, it almost got be banned from GTP back in 2006 I was so angry. I think it's funny now but it's still a weird creepy screen.

How about this screen? Kinda creepy too?

Far more likely his laser is on its way out or the disc is damaged. I replaced GT4 3 times (including my friend's game) because it kept damaging GT discs for some reason. (GT1 was also a victim) before I realised my PS2 was not only not reading the discs correctly, but leaving round scratches rendering the game unplayable. :grumpy:

I remeber that happening when I was younger, scared the 🤬 out of me.

Same for me. But it was like a significant art piece of the ps2 firmware for me with the transparent cube and red smoke. Also as to you, it scared the (&*RE) out of me since I thought it was broke:ouch:. Simple reset foo!!!

Muhahaha!

I still have mine with a pretty decent collection of games. I don't have the heart or crack addiction to sell my PS2.

Muhahaha!

There was a sound it played as well.... almost like a haunting, chill you to the bone kinda sound. :nervous:

Luckily both my fatty PS2's haven't ever had any problems and they are both now over 10 years old!

My PS3 lasted 6 months before the laser went :grumpy:

Yeah that red screen is abit scary. The only time I got it was when me an a friend tried the play some"adult material" on it lol. This was like 8 years ago tho
