So, who's got all 60 Golds in their licence tests yet?

Not gonna put a picture up, no need to find my wire to get it on my computer. You should prolly just take my word for it since I've helped people with the card ones. Though, I swear, I coulda used a bigger challenge. I am 71% done with the game, how disappointing.

A wheel would have been a good investment but a DS3 is just too convenient on the couch.

A wheelstandpro is your friend... I can sit on my couch with my G27 and play GT5 on the TV in complete comfort :)

I'm finding these license tests really frustrating. 3 days ago I finally got gold on A8 and I thought "now that that's out of the way I'll be able to go back and gold all the other tough ones". Damn if I'm not stuck on another couple tests. Last night I spent over an hour trying to get gold on B5 and could only get within 3 hundredths. I got so frustrated I switched to B6 and spent half hour only to get within 2-3 hundredths again. I'm really finding it hard to get these hairpins.

I watched the video posted by Stune a few times for both, but I'm still stumped. Does anybody have some pointers that might get me over the hump? I thought my new wheel would be the answer, but it hasn't helped the times on these two.

I've always had to bronze my way through the license tests, any golds or silvers are just bonus to me. Frankly I can't figure out how any human can get gold in those things.

Hi every1,

not sure this is the right place to ask but I couldn't find another section dedicated to my question...

I'm not using a wheel just the pad. Might be a reason why it's not that easy for me to win gold on each test. But got something like 50% yet in my 1st round.

But there is one test, only one, I could not even earn silver... I'm pretty much ashamed but what shall I say... I think it's because I do not have the right strategy for it and hope that someone of you could help me!

It's license test IB3 (slalom)... How do I do it? First I speed up until the drift starts and then I try to maintain speed without drifting too much. Shall I really let the car drift and handle it through the pylons or do I have to drive more slowly and to complete the test without any drift? For me it's really hard to tell because it seems that with less speed I won't make it at all!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I hear you. B5 was a pain... did the gold "flat" after hundreds of attempts. B6 is the only non-gold there with just .006 to shave... I'll go at it tonight again. Just tap the brakes and try to hold it above 80:

What about B5. Any words of wisdom? In his video Stune mentioned turning in early, but on a hairpin I always thought it was best to turn in late. I think my best times were with a late turn in. I find it hard to hold speed through the turn with this car. It seems to want to dig in and drop revs really easy.

I struggled on the IB3 slalom for an hour on my G25. I took some pointers from youtube and tried a controller but since only playing on a wheel since GT5 that failed miserably for me. However it pointed out to me what I was doing wrong.

Ended up going from .250 under gold to .450 over. I held down the throttle 100% the whole way but braking when required simultaneously. When you brake normally you tend to oversteer further from which recovery slows you too much.

I have now got 60 Golds and I have to say that I am slightly disappointed. I was thinking that I might drag the licences on a bit so I wouldn't complete them so fast and still have something to do, but I decided I wanted the cars.

What I found most annoying is that I knew that if I started a licence I would have 10 golds within an hour or two.

Now I think I just need to make friends on the game.

Wow!! I wish I had your problem. There's 2 or 3 tests where I've spent 2 hours to get gold and one I still haven't finished.

I don't appreciate how long it takes to re-load the event 👎:grumpy: ; so I settle for bronze and move on to the next event; funny I get silvers when the event is actually racing a lap 👍

Done, all Golds!!! Special license too easy :(

Edit: Of course, if anyone need any help to any test, ask me and i will try to help with advices! :)

Usually I finish the first few tests. Then I'll watch for my shadow. If I see it in front of me I drive off the track and get DQ'd so I just have to restart. I only finish the test if I know I'm at or better than my shadow. It saves a lot of time.

No need to DQ, you can just pause and then restart from the pause menu.

I was struggling with S-8. Bit of a stumbling block to be honest, so i thought id leave the licenses and get on with the main bulk of the game. This was a week ago. I decided only to go for the next license after i had golded the previous one. I was at a bit of a loose end this evening and decided to go for Suzuka. I did it first go, then La Sarthe and then SSR7 straight after. All with a DS3 as well. just want to say congrats to all who have overcome the licenses and a big good luck to all who are still trying!

I've got about 10-15 silvers but the rest are gold. Ironically I found the last set of licenses the easiest to complete at gold standard:crazy:

I tried for ever to get the gold on IC-1, but was 0.031 off, so i looked on youtube, followed the hints(turn off abs, brake at the 3rd X, etc) and still couldn't do it with my G25. Tried it with my pad and got it within 3 attempts! Worst thing is I changed the button configuration on the pad so I had to steer using the wheel whilst accelerating/braking using the pad.

6 is still eluding me by the exact same time :ouch:

B5 and 6 both need speed in and out. Overspeed a bit into it to gain a bit of time and then accelerate hard and late(ish) so you can go full throtle all the way.

I either brake too much and accelerate with room to spare or brake a bit too soon and accelerate too soon and have to lift off, not to run wide on exit. It's starting to get to me :grumpy:

I think they are probably easier with a pad... Not gonna use one myself.

I'm actually finding the S licenses challenging. I'm currently stuck on S-4. Grr!!! I only have the S licenses left to gold and they're pretty challengine.

^^^appie, I am not sure that counts because we can't see your PSN ID

Here's mine:

FWIW - never had a problem with the tests other than the moronic AI cars. IA10 especially. I found myself cursing Kazunori for putting the same AI programming into this game as he did in the original Gran Turismo. It is absolutely criminal.
