liking rusty cars is bit like having a thing for 50+ women..

I have a thing for banged up, stripped out old american cars. They have to have a big V8 and make the noise of satan though.

I think part of the appeal of having a ratty car is not worrying when some dope opens their door onto you in a car park, or some eejit scrapes your bumper in the street, or if your car gets covered in filth on the roads etc. You can enjoy the crap instead of be scared of it.

That is one of the best ways to have a car. I'd love to have a Chevy Nova II stripped out, with zero sound deadening.

Very true. You just don't have to worry about anything except maintaining the rust so the car dosn't start rotting as that would need to be fixed if holes developed [not sure whether this applies in the US].
