ok so right now the 60g ps3 are 499 with EE and soon there will be a 80g ps3 for 599, probally 499 once the 60s run out. so I have some questions about the emulation and how software compares to the hardware.
we know what the advantages of the hardware are, almost 100 percent BC.
what are the advantages of the software???
here is a list of other questions I have about the EE vs software debate.
ive heard all kinds of things. I have a few questions.
1. does anyone know for sure that the EE is still even running on current PS3 that have it?? ive heard some people say that it may have been turned off through firmware updates.
2. scaling issues, ive heard that with the EE the PS3 does not scale the games, hence, they do not look good on the new HDTVs. also considering that it seems that the ps2 has one of the worst game lags of all the older systems on the new tvs would this be continued if the games are not scaled with the EE.
3. I believe that without the EE the games can be scaled therefore they may actually look better without the EE.
4. the GS, if this could be eliminated also, would it be possible to re render the games and have them look even better on the ps3 .
5. this one is probally next to impossible to answer, when will they stop working on BC through software, or have they already, there will be a time, probally soon, when they will be satisfied with the BC of th systems and stop working on it, once that happens any game that is not compatible will probably never be. their goal should be nearly 100 percent BC, but I doubt that will happen.
6. if there are actually advantages to the software emulation will we be able to, or can we now, turn the EE off to run BC through software.
