Someone tell me what gold/silver chromes are?

Just wondering because I see them referenced a lot in here how do u get them and what are they worth?

Chrome paint. Only colours are Gold and Silver unless you buy the DLC. However I believe that's been removed from the PSN store now.

In game it's pretty hard to get. A lucky one every couple hundred cars. In the Gran Turismo 5 market place isn't a hard place to find. Being so common with Dupers it wouldn't cost much to get one. A 0/0/0 car would usually get you a couple.
