Not exactly a straight comparison as the camera/Moves were released a lot earlier and widely available second-hand, plus the Moves weren't compulsory, unlike these new Sense ones - you could just use the DS4 (the killer app AstroBot doesn't even use the Moves).
It's £180 more in the UK at launch than the first one, it's £50 more than the console you need to use it. I know that you get a lot of tech and it's comparable to similar products, but it is undeniably expensive - especially for a device that's supposed to be more mass-market this time and competing against the standalone Quest (which I'm sure Meta will stick at a cheaper price point).

I wouldn’t buy without full GT7 support, especially sport mode. GT Sport only added VR support in arcade mode, it was useless after the first time you tried it.

Taking into account second hands prices is not argument for me. New moves were 49$ each (and there were plenty of games that didnt work without them), camera 59$ so adding it all 556$. Taking into account inflation and that psvr1 was quite behind competition and psvr2 use top notch features like eye tracking its just better deal. edit: there was also availalbe bundle for 500$ with camera and controllers

I fully expected you to ask if it would increase the FF in GT7
VR will never be the next big thing with that kind of cost but I guess you have to pay premium prices for a premium product.
VR had never really appealed to me so the price doesnt bother me, unlike many of the other decisions Sony has taken since the PS5 was release.

Not when your local Sony retailer are officially selling PS5s for over $850 or so. $550 for a VR sounds "reasonable" within that context (unfortunately). Of course in reality, these will get ridiculously marked up like everything else nowadays.
Personally, i tried out my close friend's Quest 2 and while it's fun to mess around with, i honestly could live without it for now. It's pretty uncomfortable for me and most games don't really justifies the VR's price tag.

So far I've only had one memorable moment with PSVR: I was playing Skyrim, just minding my own business, when suddenly one of those huge spiders turned up and leapt straight into my face. I noped out of it right there and then

So why exactly shouldn't I want a far more realistic view of a racing game, which is probably one of the most ideal types of games for VR, other than 'because I say it's trash so every one else shouldn't want it either'? You do realize it won't stop you from playing it your way don't you?
I get that VR isn't for everyone (and for various reasons) but if the new PSVR2 does fully support GT 7 (and I mean fully, online and all), I'll be jumping at the chance to play in VR rather than in an 2D environment.

Psvr2 will be great if its supperted with gt7, resident evil village and resident evil 4 remake will have psvr2 support, the price was to be expected, not really that expensive you paid almost as much for the old vr witch is not even close in perfomence

Many people are rich. It doesn't mean it's not a lot of money for a very specialised piece of kit for most. As far as I'm aware it doesn't work with PS4 or PC, so you're in a very small walled garden. And if you're not already decked out with every game and peripheral that you could ever want, $600 goes a long way.
I like VR, but it's crazy expensive for what it is.

It depends on how you look at it, campared to ps4vr it dosen’t offer less value for the money, you only got 720p with ps4vr while ps5vr will offer 2k thats quite big difference in visual quality, it will in deed look much better, but its up to everyone of they think the investment is worth, $600 is nothing for me if it will offer gt7 at fullsupport and 2 resident evil games are already confirmed, i have a sound system that cost €10000 so that price of $600 is not crazy if it can enough support for different games, if you really are into something you find way to get there

I will have to wait on this no matter how bad I would want it. I got the PSVR hoping for greatness with GT Sport and was disappointed. While the idea was great, the implementation was not. I could have lived with the poor visual quality if it let me use VR in all aspects of the game. Walking around the car, being able to really tell the differences in elevation while driving, and looking around while driving were great, but having it look like a PS2 and only using for arcade racing against 1 computer opponent was not.
I would be almost all over this if GT7 support is there but I better be able to use it everywhere in the game.....that is a lot of money to not be able to experience the game fully....

Says the guy who has a 10,000 euro sound system. If $600 is nothing to you, you have nothing to contribute to whether an item provides value for that cost to someone with limited funds. You have enough money that the price of it is largely irrelevant to you, and whether you blow it on this trinket or something else hardly matters to you.
Go buy some microtransactions or something.

Unless it's FULLY implemented into GT7 so we can play the WHOLE game including online play! I'm not going to touch it. PD have a real opportunity to relight the fire that has gone out on the game due to the game still being broken even now. But psvr2 in the game would for one sell a LOT of headsets and rekindle peoples passion for the game and the franchise.This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:
