Man, i cant wait to try the new headset out. Just announced yesterday..

Anyone have any experience with headsets and GT?
I've used occulus rift with iracing and it was great.

I haven't played GT6 but if it's like GT5 and not every car has a cockpit view than a VR headset would be really weird with it.

If GT is going to take advantage of this they will have to do a better job and give each car a cockpit view.

I would like to see a larger field of view, 90 degrees isn't as much as the OR ie; 107 degrees. I wonder what Sony's price point will be and when it will be released? On the face of it, I think the OR is the better product right now, that may change with more and more companies vying for our virtual/real ahem dollars.

If this makes it into production, the price will dictate how popular it is. It looks pretty expensive.

I seen the 90 degrees. It's got me a little worried too. I think the rift is 110 and I thought it could be a little better.
I'm just glad companies are finally trying VR and doing it right this time. I've been waiting for something like this since I was a kid.

I think this might be the first time something that was going to be a 'big deal' then fizzled out when I was a child has made a comeback now that technology has progressed enough to make it possible and consumer-friendly, that's quite exciting... And yet I still can't help but wonder what it would be like if these headsets had gaze tracking, Kinect-style 3D mapping and stereoscopic cameras that look where you're looking to enable some awesome augmented reality uses, like a horror game set in your own home. I guess that technology is probably still a while off! Probably just as well, actually, since so many people apparently struggle to separate games from reality.

I could just imagine it now, Honey we need to move, I was playing zombie killers last night and now I cant go in the basement any more.

The Oculus has a FOV of about 90degrees horizontal, the figure they usually quote is diagonal. So it's similar to the Sony VR.
Both sets are still dev kits not final models.
