I'm wondering if any of you could answer me this...

How do you unlock the final bonus mission in the Soul Arena?

I'm not talking about difficulty.
I mean the last spot that stays blank.

Do you all know how to unlock that mission?

Thanks.

Thanks, and it was GoKents (with a "s" at the end). ;)

Also, is that "final battle" the one I am looking for?
I don't recognize the name.

Also, I haven't gone very far in Chronicles of the Sword, but I've beat the Tales of Sword game with every character.

I suppose I missed "Night Terror" in my run at the game.

Could someone maybe tell me how to find "night terror" for a fight?

Is night terror related to nightmare?

Thanks again.

Btw, I already had most of that list you posted ultra beat. 👍
I can find most of the stuff I need with places like CheatCC but for newer games they aren't always on point like the players. :D
For example, CCC didn't have the "final battle" stage listed. :(
(atleast I don't think they did  )

Anyway, thanks again for the help and any future help. ;)
Later. :D

I beat that blonde idiot at the end of Chronicles. I took me a while, but I beat his sorry ass. I thought after beating him, you could use regular characters in Chronicles mode. I.e. Astaroth or Ivy in the same place as your regular character.

Is this true?

But your usernam eis just Kent now... :guilty:

Yeah, Night Terror is the last mission battle.

I'm not sure about any others, but you can fight him using Siegfried.
After beating the Swordman, choose "seek power" as your reply. After the battle at the clock tower, choose "avoid chasing him". Then choose the first reply about the cursed sword. After a couple of battles and after the Indian Port battle with Maxi, you will be asked if you trust a man with information, choose, "give it a try."
Fight Raphael, the unknown soul, and the choose to approach the presences which is Olcadon. Then you fight Zasalemel and then Night Terror.

Is night terror related to nightmare?
Yep, I'm pretty sure Night Terror is the physical form of Soul Edge, as opposed to Nightmare being just the memory of Siegfried.

A quick search found Nightmare's night terror path...
Fight Berserker
Search for Strong Souls
Fight Sophitia
Fight Zasamalel
Continue to seek strong souls in the area
Aquire a little more power first
Fight Thief + Thief + Voldo
Fight Cervantes
Fight Setsuka
Cut Down Boastful Man
(Grand Labyrinth) Fight Raphael
Fight Shadow
Fight Olcadan
Fight Zasamalel + Night Terror

Not true I'm afraid.

Aww.

That's too bad. Oh well. I fight using Soul of Astaroth Discipline anyways. The only downer about that is: My guy is puny and looks silly using Nanbanfu. It looks way silly.

It's almost as bad as a chick using that axe.

The great sword just looks wrong, and a guy with a sickle...:yuck:

Ha!

Sickle. My g/f made a chick w/a sickle, and she always kicks my ass. I don't suck -- she's just relentless when it comes to that game.

First off, thanks for that awesome walk through of the path to night-terror. 👍

Another odd question has been brought up in my mind...

Will "Sword Master" eventually unlock the "soul of normal character" in chronicles of the sword mode?

I ran through the tales mode with every character, then the soul arena, now I'm working on chronicles.
Because I did so much before touching Chronicles of the Sword, I used Sword Master for the created character.

On the net I've only seen how to unlock those "soul of" with created characters based on something other than Sword Master.

Anyone here run through "chronicles" with a Sword Master?
Input is welcome. :D

Thanks,
Later. :sly:

I'm afraid Sword Masters don't get any "Soul Of"s. They just get all the weapons.
The sword and shield are th ebest mix of power and speed, by the way:)

And I've run through Chronicles with a Sword Master. It doesn't make it much easier, just that you can alter your weapon to fight specific enemies. Speed, Power and whatnot aren't increased.

That's horrible. :(
I will actually start "C.O.T.S." just to get a game started with a character that will unlock Soul of Siggy.

But on a different note...
I've just run through "tales" and using the path that was closest to what is listed above for nightmare, I ran into a battle that was near impossible to win.
Tore me up easily... The enemy was "will of the wisp."
Anyone else run into this guy?

Oh yeah, that fiery guy!

His crouching defence is poor, hint hint!
He's slow to move from crouching to standing.

Yup, that was him... Blue fire too.
I just beat the hell out of him.
He took the "gas form" of Lizard Man.
With Nightmare's strong attacks it only took 2 hits (one vertical + hold button, one horizontal  ).

Anyway, Im working on getting the new game started now.
Will be back later with info on any progress I feel like mentioning. :p

Till then,

Wow...

I've got so much to say now and double posting just might be acceptable for the moment. ;)

First off, I've been playing SC3 like crazy. :D

Now for starters...
I've found the best way to level up in chronicles of sword.

Get through all the way up to chronicle 20 as you normally would.
(create a second c.o.t.s. save so you don't ruin the original)

Then at chronicle 20, create a character of the class you want to level up.
They will start at level 1. :(
However, because the opponents in chronicle 20 are all at level 50 or higher, it doesn't take long to level up.

So how do you do it since the levels are so lob-sided?
Well, use your entire group on the map against 1 enemy at a time.
Right before the opponent is killed by your group, select the character you wish to level up and select battle.
This will make it so you only need to land a few hits or maybe one throw to defeat the enemy. 👍

Using this tactic I unlocked all "soul of..."
Also, get this...
Using this strategy I was able to level up from level 1 sage to level 30 sage in only 8 battles (all wins). 👍 👍

Now for just a few more things...
I beat night terror finally.
Also, I found that you can pretty much use any path and as long as you never lose and always select to face opponents that are mysterious or watching you... :trouble:

back later... till then,
-Kent

Nice to see you doing so well :)👍

I hope the sage wasn't a guy. Soul Of Sophitia->Head between thighs throw :yuck:

And Night terror takes about 3 hits to kill if you use Soul Calibur...:sly:
My first game resulted in a Level 68 Saint and the rest around level 36.

My second game I used people evenly and they were all around level 40 by the end.

Voldo has the coolest weapons, but damn it's hard to get a flow going.

Wow...didn't know this thread existed until Kent told me...thanks man 👍

I'm normally a GT4 player but Soul Calibur has lured me away of late. My progress so far:
  • 1800 Battles - So most things unlocked
  • Chronicles Completed with Knight character only...he's at Level 99 too
  • Tales of Souls totally completed (including unlocking all event viewer movies) with Ivy and Xianghua
  • Tournament Championship won
  • League Championship won
I'm currently trying to complete Tales of Souls with Rock but I can't win all the battles without continuing to get to Night Terror yet, it'll come though

The coolest thing I've discovered so far is Xianghua's unbeatable move..."Forward Forward A+B" is all you need to destroy any opponent with ease, infact it feels a little hollow but I can't imagine how I'd win 12 Tournaments in a row without it.

Anyway just thought I'd drop in, see ya all around

Glad to have you around Mr. Weary.

Just to recap... :p

Tales of Souls: Completed with all characters (but only siggy saw night terror).
Chronicles: Completed once with "Knight" at about level 74
Missions: All "Easy" are gold, all "Normal" are completed, most "Hard" I haven't touched.

All character classes have the "soul of..." unlocked.

I have no clue how many battles I've completed but it must be pretty high considering what I'd unlocked in the game before touching the "chronicles."

Also, "Weary" got me thinking of this...
Siegfried is my main character and in the process of learning how to use him I've found some sweet moves.

One thing I find to work really well is a 2 hit combo.
Down and forward vertical strike into vertical strike (holding the button). 👍
Cheap but powerful.

Also, for that matter, Sig has some amazing moves where he changes position and in-turn his moves change as well.
Once you start learning them you get hooked big time.

For example, if you hold the button down each time you strike, just doing one horizontal strike followed by another can go through 3 or 4 positions ending in a crouched position where a final vertical strike will hit the home run. 👍

Definately an awesome game. :dopey:

One think I love about the changes in position for Siggy (as well as Mitsurugi) is how it throws me back to playing Tekken 3 on the PS1 with Lei. :trouble:
Just like Lei, all the different forms have different strikes and mastering them takes a while but once you've done it... ... Just watching the fight is awesome. It's almost like the fight becomes a form of art.

Anyway, back later when I've put SC3 in again but for now it's WRS time. :D

If you press K+B and then K+B againm you get a lovely upthrust move.

And it looks amazing to finish an opponent off with ->->B. Siegfried sort of jumps up then brings the sword down with a lot o' force.

I'm sad that i could have saved the replay of thet guillotine-like move chopping a downed Nightmare across the back of the neck.

Okay I'm dying here...can someone give me some pointers on how I can get to Night Terror with Rock. I can get to Olcadan *fairly* safely but Olcadan kicks my a$$ every time. In fact if I ever get beaten it is almost inevitably because a quick character (or any character I guess) gets in close and starts unleashing combos. Kilik is a good example, I either beat him in two or three moves or he just gets on a roll and I can't do anything...rock is such a piece of 🤬

My main problem is when the enemy start pounding on me in close, I try blocking and waiting for my turn but all his moves are too slow to interrupt, I try grabbing and it only works 1 in 3 times...help!!!

[EDIT]

I am dying!!!!! I can get to Olcadan like 1/2 - 1/3 of the time fairly comfortably but I have nothing....ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in Rock's arsenal that gets me remotely close to beating him...surely someone out there is a Rock master?

[/EDIT]

I'd suggest using Wakayin. If you have not unlocked Wakayin, then Juggernaught or Ropalon are also good bets.

-> -> L2 is a powerful move, but you risk missing and your opponent being behind you.

Rock also has powerful kicks, so get a few in if you can.

The base line is really- Rocks attacks are slow-ish to hit, but hit with a lot of force, and the kicks are slightly quicker.
The throws aren't fantastically powerful, but will still bet the job done.

Thanks for this, I've got all the weapons unlocked so I'll try that one you suggest and I'll also look at the moves you've mentioned...I'll be back :)

Oh man...it's just impossible...that Forward Forward A+B move is certainly very powerful but against Olcadan it's useless, the kicking is helping, I managed to kick him a couple of times but if Olcadan turns up as Yun Seung, Talim or Sophitia he can't be beaten...it's a fact, I know Rock's moves back to front now and I can school every character leading up to Olcadan but unless by some fluke of nature they turn Olcadan into Atsaroth or Doppelganger he is just far too good. He blocks low moves or mid moves, he ducks under grabs, he guard impacts every decent hit and despite me getting a couple of kicks in he beats me every time with about 75% of his life intact. The two times I came close to beating him were when he became Ivy and Raphael and both times I got him to the point where I needed one more hit but...alas...

The sad thing is, even though I take Zasalamel to town on the next battle, I just know *if* I ever beat Olcadan I'll somehow lose to that friggin Zasalamel and not get to Night Terror. This is severely ticking me off and I can't just go to another character until I've completely finished with Rock...sigh!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man, Talim was the opponent when I did it as well.

She's odd in that she's horrifically hard, nay, impossible to master, and yet since the AI is fluent at using her, she's damn near invincible.

I beat her with Raphael by a hairs breadth. I can never get bored of his fighting style! It looks so awesome when it's all connected up.

Edit: Nearly forgot the whole point of my post!

Well done, and keep trying!

Just remember, every time you fail you learn a lesson.
