my engine sound has begun cutting out since the latest update. anyone else?

it's just the engine sound. i still get tire and wind; and other cars. just my own engine...cuts in and out during races. quite annoying.

I had that happen as well, but only through my optical output to my receiver. My HDMI worked fine with the TV alone. First I had to go into the PS3 sound settings and select all of the options necessary. Then went into GT5 in the sound section and chose different sound setups (5.1, 2-channel) until I found one that worked.

Something did happen with one of the updates as mine worked fine when I originally bought the game.

Sound disappeared altogether on mine after 1.07 update. Restarting the game and waiting a couple of seconds after each screen change fixed it.
It still happens intermittently, so I think it's a software bug.
PD should concentrate on bugs like this instead of policing its users...

After the update, the tire noises during races and replays sometimes doesn't work. When that happens I usually have to exit the current track and enter again for it to work again.

that was it. thanks!

had to go to sound setup and change from 'auto' to 5.1 surround.

mine has worked since new, too. something in the last update fouled this up.

I have an issue with my headset dropping out in the middle of a game when online.

It will come back on if I shut my PS3 down and restart everything but that is a pain int the butt.

It seems to do it at least once per online visit.
