I also used the 350Z roadster, with FC transmission. I continued modding the Z and took the Tunercar Championship. This is a phenominal car tuned out. It is one of my best cars. I have an incredible setup for it.

a fully modded 03 Viper won the series for me without any real compeition. once you get to the first turn of every track, you're all alone.

TVR Griffith 500.

It's purple, bought it used for $20k. After just a little upgrading, it smokes everything but an elise or speedster. If I draw an elise or speedster for my opponents in the race, I actually have to work at it.

The strange thing is that even though I bought the car used, it doesn't show up anywhere in the TVR shop.

i had wanted to use an S2000 for those races, and bought myself the Opera modded one, because I thought it looked cool.

Well, it apparently was no longer considered a convertible.

so i used my SL65 AMG instead :)

Anyone try it w/ an Alfa?

I ran it in the old Alfa, the Spider 1600 'Duetto' ('66), not the GTV 3.0 V6 24V ('01).

I orignally bought the '01 for the series, but it was heavy and slow in stock form and it seemed like more fun to tweak the old car instead of just upping the power on the new one.

I tried to stick with what was "age appropriate" for a '66, so I didn't upgrade the chip or add a turbo, but I did do an NA upgrade, racing exhaust, sport suspension, and all three weight reductions. Ended up with horsepower somewhere in the 180s with weight under 800kg (if i remember correctly).

Didn't do a full suspension, so there weren't many tweaks to be done, just turned off the electronic nannies and hit the track.

Most races were in the 75-125 A-Spec point range, and on one track I just couldn't reel in one Elise (I think it was the 111R), but overall it was a fun series to run in a small, light, and nimble old car.

Cool...can't wait to try it when i get home!!

I used the stock Z4. I wanted to buy a AC Cobra, but decided it was too much. The British Green car with a British driver looks awesome. I'll buy one now that I have 4 mil in credits.

I purchased a Spoon S2000 and I'm not allowed to enter the Spider and Roadster serie.
Could someone explain why ? Isn't the Honda S2000 supposed to fall in that category ?

Does it say its a production cars only restriction? I think thats the reason... (If not... I dunno...)

Could be the Spoon version has a fixed hardtop?

Just read the first page so someone might have noted this.
I was able to find a used TVR V8S. It didn't stomp the competition but with a tranny and drivetrain mods I was able to give the other convertibles a good race,
I was also able to take some weight out and use it for the UK cars races.

i looked for info about this set of races not much in the way of cars the people used, so i was woundering what car all out used to beat it ?¿?
I bought an SSR for this, then you can use this in the truck class as well. AFter you spend a little money on it. The SSR performs really well.

I used a bone stock TVR Griffith 500 from the used car lot and had no trouble taking them out. I thought about using the Chevy SSR (as its been noted that you can enter it in the truck race as well), but I'm not horribly fond of the SSR and I wanted a TVR Griffith 500 eventually anyway, so I bought and used that, then used a bone stock Ford SVT Lightning for the truck race (which was also a pretty easy win).

(NOTE: By "bone stock" I mean I did an intial oil change and disabled the TCS/ASM driver aids, but otherwise left the car as is.)

Thanks for the info.
Damn, why didn't Spoon ( and Mugen ) produce an S2000 with a removable hard top, the way Porsche does , so you can remove it , store it in the luggage compartment and... voilà
Oh well, I'll get a regular S2000 or the Nissan Z ( I like Nissan, but I find their Z model ugly )

i used the Nissan 350Z looks nice as hell, performed well, and I used it for some other races. I also have a question, i know it will prolly make me sound like a noobie (which I'm not) but i can't get the damn tops down on my convertables, anyone wanna help me out?

There's another thread on convertibles somewhere, but basically, some cars have them up all the time when they're racing atleast 2 other opponents, and some don't. It's a function of the number of polygons used to model that particular car.
