The Shadow Trooper and the part of it mentioning the "cloaking device" has me thinking about the Bothan Spy from Battlefront II. I think we all remember the stealth ability he had in that game, don't pretend like you didn't love it. :P

season pass
- Over 20 new pieces of galactic tech including weapons, vehicles, and Star Cards for both Rebels and Imperials
- Four more heroes and villains for you to fight as or against
- 16 additional multiplayer maps featuring new locations
- Four exciting new game modes
- Two-week early access to each expansion pack
- Exclusive “Shoot First” emote

Let's just bring this point to light: FIFTY DOLLARS FOR A SEASON PASS.

I don't want you guys to forget that it's FIFTY DOLLARS FOR A SEASON PASS.

It's important to remember that IT'S FIFTY DOLLARS FOR A SEASON PASS.
Hence why I'm not buying it.

I'm having lots of fun playing my 10 hr trial, but I can't justify dropping $145 ($15 off with access) on one game.

What's your point? You don't have to buy the season pass. Fallout 4 has the exact same thing are you preaching about it in the Fallout 4 thread?

There is ZERO justification for making the pass cost that much. I haven't been following development on Fallout 4.

Well I hate to break it to you but loads of games do it these days including Fallout 4 which everyone is raving about so it's nothing new. And like I said you don't have to buy it, none of the expansion packs are releasing any time soon so you don't even need to make that decision if you were thinking about buying the game now.

For me personally I'm going to buy the base game now and then if I'm still playing it in a few months when the first DLC drops I'll decide then. FYI some details have been released, 16 more maps which means more than twice the amount the base game has. So if you like the game enough it will be worth it but as I said in no way are you forced to buy it.

  • Over 20 new pieces of galactic tech including weapons, vehicles, and Star Cards for both Rebels and Imperials
  • 4 more heroes and villains for you to fight as or against
  • 16 additional multiplayer maps featuring new locations

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but...
My thoughts on the game are interesting. If you bought the game purely on what was shown leading up to the release, you'll be very happy. If you had any expectations or hopes of certain aspects, you'll likely be disappointed. That said, I'm having a blast with it. Single player is lacking, but let's face it, single player is considered a niche for some reason on 8th gen consoles. What there is of the single player can be massive fun if you up the difficulty, and the gameplay is smoother than what I played in the beta. But the multiplayer...I thought I had given up hope on online shooters, but this game changes that. The servers are so stable, it's amazing. I never once experienced a lag issue or anything, and I was in nothing but 40 person matches. The maps are amazing and large, and the game modes are satisfying. There's a ton of things you can do, and all of it suits different people, so no one is being left as cannon fodder. It's a genuinely fun shooter as far as I've played.

My problems with the game are also list worthy. Not a lot of depth on the single player. It doesn't break the game, but it's a bit disappointing considering what it could have been. I'm not a huge fan of the level up to unlock basic character hairstyles. I understand the level up to unlock things like non human characters, but come on. The amount of primary weapons is surprisingly small, and unless you are unloading money on DLC, you're stuck with them. The DLC is outrageously expensive, but coming from EA, that was a given. In a way, the single player does seem to be under a paywall effect. Nothing feels missing or hidden, but it doesn't feel refined when it should have been.

What do I give this then? It had a shot of being a contender for Game of the Year, but it missed that mark. It isn't a bad game, I'd honestly say it's the best online shooter that's available on 8th gen consoles at the moment, but it's not where it had the potential of being. I'd give it a solid 8/10. The game was for the most part, completely bug free, and I honestly never had a problem with it. Being bug free on launch definitely helped it out, and the first few hours actually felt like an enjoyable time. If you don't agree, that's perfectly reasonable. To each their own. But I'm enjoying this one. I'm happy I got it.

I played the beta quite a bit and I plan to rent this in the near future but I don't see this as a purchase. Just felt too much like a watered down version of Halo meets Battlefield. And yes I like Halo and Battlefield. However, I just purchased Halo 5, BO3, and Fallout 4. Along with RSV:Siege is coming out in a couple weeks.

Played it for a while now as I'm up to level 13, around a 1.1 K/D so far as still learning the maps and haven't found a comfortable set-up that I can get decent scores.

Here is my first online game -

@chrisjohnson93 I highly recommend playing in 3rd person, it gives you a big advantage ;)

I'm liking the game so far, it needs plenty of tweaking and balancing but so far so good. Easily the best looking video game I have ever seen, absolutely stunning  These shots are only running the game on High settings as I'm wanting to maintain 100+fps

Been playing this myself but not planning on getting the season pass at the moment (way too overpriced). I'm sure the game may have told me at some point, but does crouching hide you on the radar completely?

I love this game so much. For an online shooter to hook me in like this is rare but this is so addictive and fun I cant get enough of it.

Fighter squadron and supremacy are my main modes at the moment.

You only show up on the radar when sprinting or shooting, and if you unlock and equip the Scout trait card you won't show up when sprinting.

I've been thinking. The movement and third person shooting reminds me a lot of Uncharted 3 multiplayer. U3 was incredibly fluid in it's movement mechanics which helped increase the pacing of the game. The gunplay was a little frustrating, considering assault rifles took 5-6 headshots to kill, and sniper rifles were hard to aim. U3 and SWBF are both very casual-oriented shooters, so I could pick it up fairly easily. I heard the content is lacking right now, and I refuse to buy the season pass (regardless of price), so I might give this a shot once the price drops significantly. This might be a stretch, but it looks like it will be much more than Uncharted 4, since the gameplay seems like a MAJOR disconnect from U3.

Returned a used game, traded in two others and got $36 credit so picked up SWBF.

I played a good amount during the beta so it is easy to pick up and play and is a lot of fun. The Vader gameplay during the install was a nice touch.

Considering the initial complaints about lack of content, there are a good amount of multi-player game modes (9 I think) plus online co-op & local co-op of training, survival, and battles.

I only played one match after the training this morning and already consider it a worthwhile purchase. Now if I could just get the star wars music out of my head..

The sound of thermal detonators counting down haunts me in my sleep
