... but not much else is revealed yet.

Great trailer IMHO, looking forward to more details.

Very impressive trailer but not from the actual game. Could be a good RPG.

The trailer seems to promise a lot. Yoda, lightsaber fights, space battles, vast landscapes, drama etc. But how much of this is representative of not only the visual aspect (it's clearly a CGI trailer) but also the gameplay side. I'm getting real The Old Republic vibes from this trailer and that game obviously plays substantially differently to how the trailers portray it.

I'm very cautiously excited, but prepared for a big come down.

Hopefully it's a mix of KotOR elements and the recent Fallen Order. Hell, even if it falls more heavily in one camp than the other I'd be ok with that too as I really enjoy both games.

There has been, apparently, some push back over this. The boss of the studio producing the game is apparently a bit of a scum-bag to his employees, and is apparently quite the misogynist and transphobe. I'm not really going to comment on that one way or the other, but I'm curious as to whether this cinematic trailer has been dropped so far in advance, in order to get some ducks in a row well before the games release.

Quantic Dream is a **** company, no two ways about it. And David Cage's writing chops or lack thereof, alongside his antics within QD and his personal views, are well known and easily Googleable. That being said...

Take Henderson's words with a grain of salt, but even then, if I'm being brutally honest, I don't know how you can look at this title, how far it is from release, and who's making it, and not see the potential disaster coming down the tracks. Disney is not Sony, who will be able to more or less stem the tide of Cage's eccentricities and antics and ignore it, seeing potential profits down the line. They want to know everything that is going on. And considering the lack of experience Quantic Dream has in anything that isn't straight forward, narratively driven games, considering who's writing and who's probably leading the project, it just all feels like a powder keg primed to explode.

I don't have the same bit of confidence like say, Playground being continually linked to a new Fable, where you at least know that Playground had experience working with open worlds, so one would expect what has been learned and applied to Forza Horizon and bring it to a new Fable. Here? Absolutely nothing I see knowing of QD's experience and expertise makes me confident in this game. But then again, this game is so far out by this point that those concerns aren't at the top of mind...yet.

All of which is exactly why I’m tempering my excitement for this. There’s too much that can go wrong considering the devs and the team involved. And as you say, it’s hard not to see it going that way.

I'm really not sure why they bother teasing a game soooo far in advance of when it's likely to be released. 2026? That's surely going to be getting close to the release of the next generation of consoles.
