Darth Vader lives, watch. Watch!
Darth Vader lives, watch. Watch!
So, new theory: Snoke IS ... Palpatine!
(and that would explain how horribly disfigured poor Snoke's face is)

Visually, no, it didn't, but what Luke said about 2/3rds in was really damning to the fate of the force as practiced for the last few millennium. [I should interrupt and say that this applies to both Jedi and Sith.] Snoke and Luke is training their last disciples in that "grey-area" of the force, but while there is evidence that Luke is training Rey in accordance to the principles of the first force users, we don't know how Snoke is training Ben to become a "grey Jedi" (for lack of a better term) and for all we know Snoke is adhering to the Sith's "Rule of Two".It didn't really give us much did it? Luke trains Rey as a Jedi - which we assumed from the end of Force Awakens anyway. Fin is still in intensive care. Poe looses his beloved black X-wing, there's some new low flying craft that battle against At-Ats on another desert planet and a massive space battle with some new looking good-guy capital ships. Roll on the next trailer 👍
I still do not understand their reasoning behind a young Han Solo movie.
...Well, Disney did fork out gazillion dollars for SW and other stuff so, it stands to reason that they would very much like a return on that hefty investment. And what better way than by milking the franchise to the max?
Hmm. I wonder, if Miller and Lord wanted the film to be more comedic than what Kathleen Kennedy the mean producer lady have wanted. I mean, the duo is better known for their improbable but fun comedies. Hiring them to prop up a quarter of a billion dollar Summer tentpole movie sounded a bit ill-advised back then, and I guess that decision is backfiring now.
For those that haven't seen Rogue One yet (why not!?!) it will be on Netflix in July.

They're easily getting their return back on this and Marvel. $4billion spent on series, the two movies so far have produced $3 billion plus, and then you have merchandise sales, shows, and entertainment like games. Clearly all of this doesn't go directly to Disney but you'd have to believe they've already made their money back. Everything else is to tell a worthwhile story they believe in which is what they usually give as a reason for why they do things.
Redbox?...streaming. Netflix streaming. I watched it on Blu-Ray from Netflix a few months back.
