Anyone know where I can pick up the official poster in 24x36" size? I can't believe these things are not in stores yet...

Edit: Never mind. (really long shipping time though)

We already know what the movie is about. :p

well yeah, but as in reading everything that happens and spoiling any surprises/Easter eggs that may be in it before seeing it

So this idea is making the rounds of the internet today so I threw this image together really quick. Millie Brown as a young Leia? Could definitely work. They share a lot of very similar facial features. Who knows...

Edit: A little research and I guess it started a few weeks ago with Millie saying she would be interested in playing the character, then people ran with it. I don't know if a whole movie about her would work story wise, but with that "after Episode III" Obi Wan movie high on the probability list, if they did it ~15 years after and threw her into it, it would be perfect.

It has to be on-going treatment for the original injury. How he ended up looking on Mustafar and how he appeared in RotJedi showed clear signs of considerable healing. I know you didn't see much between him being rescued and him being put in the suit - or are given a clear time-scale of the process in Revenge of the Sith, but you have to imagine he was put into the suit as quickly as possible as it served as his life support system. Palpatine also obviously wanted to wipe away as much Anakin as possible to stop him from returning to his humanity, so had extra incentive to make him Darth Vader as soon as he could

Was the purpose of Vader removing his mask in ESB, before his transmission to kill Admiral Ozzel(Ossol? Ossel?) coming out of light speed too close to Hoth, ever expounded upon?

Was Vader still receiving treatment of any kind? Upgrades? Sleeping? Meditating?

Related to the post I made above, probably regular visits to the Bacta Tank for a soaking.

And, IMAX TV spot released this morning with some epic footage, including this:

That is some awesome insight. I had not read that. Though, I did wonder after he fought Obi-Wan, why didnt he go in a tank to be healed. Shoot, even Johnny Rico got his leg reconstructed after the bug pierced it. ;)

First after the premier reactions coming in about Rogue One and they are all very positive. I guess there's an embargo on reviews until Tuesday. Hope the Jedi Council guys at Collider put up a spoiler-free review.

I guess it was mostly a film making thing rather than a Star Wars universe thing. To show the guy was a human. Up until that point he could have been a robot, or some form of vaguely humanoid alien. If he as going to drop that he was Luke's father later in the film, then the audience really needs to know that he could be his father.

Let's not over-analyse it. After all, George Lucas did have a reputation for retconning the films - it's pretty obvious that he had no idea that Luke and Leia were brother and sister when he wrote The Empire Strikes Back. I wouldn't be looking for too profound an explanation of it, either. Sometimes you have to take it as a continuity error because if you focus too much on ironing out every crease in the narrative, you can wind up with bigger problems.

Three notorious star Wars themed youtubers created and published a very nice "video documentary" on the birth and development of the rebellion, from the end of the clone wars up to the timeline of Rogue One. It's a nice watch, and well constructed.

Early reviews are in, and Rogue One is currently sitting at ...
84% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Those reviews are currently suggesting that ...
The film works best when it is world-building, positioning itself right on the changing border between the Empire and the Rebellion. Each of the major areas - direction, cinematography, music, acting, etc. - gets the tick of approval.

There are two main avenues of criticism; one being that it gets caught up in an overly complex plot as it tries to work a spy thriller angle. The other avenue is that it suffers from sprawl and a lack of focus, particularly in the battle sequences. I seem to remember that when Alec Guinness finally saw A New Hope, he commented that the final battle scenes went on for a little too long - which is arguably something that all of the films (except The Empire Strikes Back) did, and is a criticism that you could direct at most films that do this (the Fast and Furious films, for instance, or the final sequence of Die Another Day).
In summation:
It sounds like it's a solid, very well-crafted film that never quite fulfils its potential or ambition because it takes a pretty conservative line in staying true to the Star Wars mythos - which, to be honest, was kind of expected given that the Marvel-style shared universe concept was always a pretty radical concept for the franchise.
Not sure when I will get to see it. Hopefully on the weekend.

Going Friday after work, 7pm. So far the reviews have me super excited, and if it's as good as they say it is, I may see it again over the weekend. :p

As far as the RT score, it can be hit or miss really. 10 Cloverfield Lane is sitting at a 90% and not everyone loved it (I certainly do...) but as always I think it's best to see if yourself rather than go off what other people say.

I was planning on going to see it 'at some point over Xmas' but a friend wanted to see it sooner so i have tickets to see it on Friday. I've avoided the massive screen, IMAX, 3D, screaming kids, half-the-cinema-playing-with-their-phones experience for a more grown up, smaller screen, 50-comfortable armchairs, beers-whilst-you-watch experience. Looking forward to it 👍

I am carefully avoiding spoilers ... just entered here with one eye closed but yeah, it's safe.

Please all fans and visitors keep it this way until at least next tuesday, I won't be able to watch the movie before monday night. :)

Going to see it at 10:10am. I'll just post "Go see it!"= no spoilers, but I might talk about the characters, or "It was okay"= if it irked me, I may post spoilers.

The reviews I've read, speak about how action packed it is. Hope so.
