So my mate and I are now ranked #1 in Silver League in 2v2. Hoping for promotion soon...

Played insane from here the other day, got my ass handed too me (No one uses HT in bronze/silver and wasn't prepared!).

Yeah so I give you advice directly, and you completely ignore my post, with not even a mention, thanks for nothing, my used to be friend... what the hell

Nah mate no worries. I did read and take in your post. The other day I bunkered up against a fast expanding Zerg, it didn't win for me outright but caused him to make too many Zerglings so I felt I delayed his drone production a bit.

As I said, had a game against insane who is gold and although I lost I felt I didn't lose too badly. We've only had 1.5 games though as I have no time in my life... (And I'm saying I was up in the second game :sly:)

EDIT: I'm just watching Huk stream and the Streets of Rage music came on. That's ****ing epic. New found Huk love.

I picked up SC2 today, and played a few matches. I had already finished the demo version, (gold-ed two challenges and the three missions), so I was already semi-familiar with the in game HUD. Having stuck with Terran, I played 3 games against the computer on hard, and won 3. I also played two "novice" multiplayer games, and lost a TvT, but won a TvP. I was going pretty well, but I realised my micro is terrible, so to compensate I switched to no macro, and by the end of the games i realised I was floating about 2000 minerals.

There are many, many holes in my gameplay, but I have improved in 6 matches, so I am pretty happy. Having a ton of fun too.

When do you guys usually play? (Azuremen and Casio)

Me and a friend of mine play pretty frequently as a 2v2 team. I hardly play 1v1, just isn't for me I suppose. I finally decided to focus on my macro and whattya know I actually pull ahead of opponents. My macro hasn't always been that bad it's just mostly i'm out teched if that makes sense. I focus too much on MMM and then I go up against siege tanks. Which by the way those who are Top 8 gold level: Has anyone else noticed the majority of terrans like to just mass siege tanks? My friend plays Protoss so Immortals are a pretty easy answer to that, plus Banshees. What kind of play do you do Azuremen? 1v1? teamplay?

As of right now my 2v2 is ranked 5 in a Gold division. So I suppose that's average.

I hate TvT. What I do is 12 Rax, 13 Gas, 15 Orbital, 1 Marine out of Rax, Add on a tech lab, 17 Gas, and then at 100 Gas get a Factory. While the factory is building you have enough time to get another marine or two out, switch the Rax and Factory over and if you've had 3 guys on both gas since completion you should almost have exactly enough gas for 1 tank + seige. I camp outside their main taking map control and expanding, etc. Then I see what they're doing. If they are going Tank/Marine heavy I go more banshee, if they are going banshee heavy I go more raven/viking.

I don't think there is a super quick way to end TvT unless you get some super fast proxy buildings, or catch them trying something crazy. Azure will know more.

In terms of times, I play on the SEA server, but I actually also have an NA account (Only with 2 placement matches on it however). But if you guys make a time I can probably work it out.

I've not played much at all recently. Usually in the evenings if I can going to be on at all, evening PST anyhow.

Me and a friend have discovered a nifty way to win 2v2 matches. I go 2 port cloaked banshee, and he DT rushes. The great part is that when they go for silly rushes (such as 6pools and cannon rushing), they usually go for my Toss friend, as P can't get walls out quickly enough, and can't float away. They never have detection, so once my banshees roll in they will lose unless they start turtling hard, then I'm in a massive lead anyway and transition into a tank contain. If they go for a later push, the cheese comes out at the time of the push usually and forces a retreat, or a base trade they can't win. It's a surprisingly good 2v2 strat, at least against the weaker players.

Got some great comments in my 2v2 game with my mate today.

capture2yq.png

I switch to Zerg when I'm getting bored. It's just ridiculous how overpowered a 6-pool is on 2v2. (Though generally we do it's 6-pool / proxy 2 gate). I don't even play Zerg (Literally the only thing I know how to do is early pool, and I'm undefeated with it)

We beat up on some Plats today in 2v2, and currently rank #1 silver, so hopefully going to gold or higher soon. :)

Me and my buddy have fell prey to enough 6 pools to have a proper strategy against it. But we only employ it when it's us vs. Z+Z Works like a charm when they do each a 6 pool. :D

well. Got ranked today after skipping 40 practice matches, Bronze in 1v1, but plat in 2v2...:nervous:. I really should be low, low down in bronze, as I seem to be averaging about 30-40 apm in each game. But I have won 5 out of 8 matches, so I will probably be getting booted out of plat shortly.

I also found out I can do the M/M/M build reasonably well. If someone goes heavy tank, however, I'm screwed royally, and end up dropping their base away from the tanks.

Oh, and I hate mutas

I think that guy needed to concentrate on his strat myself. This is how it went down.

Cool, 6-pool successfully walled off.

Zerglings run off. I don't need to check the destructable rocks, it's not like that's a viable thing for the zerglings to do. I'll just stay at the front here.

Over 2 minutes later: Arghhh 57 Zerglings in my base. 6-Pool OP.

EDIT: Hey more Pro guys, is there an optimum way to queue snipe with the ghost?

2 minutes and he didnt have anything? :/

Didn't check the destructible rocks, that's for sure. Just stood at the front where nothing can get through anyway.

I'll tell you what, I'm so sick of Infestors, killing my TvZ percentage...Infestor, Ling, Muta is basically the most annoying combo ever.

I'm so bad at TvZ. I recently played a zerg opponent on Taldarim Altar, and by the 30 min point I was on two bases after early expanding, because he just kept shutting down my expansions. So I pushed out a couple of times, with marine-maruder, and get killed by ling-muta with 2 or 3 infestors. So I went Thor-Hellion marine. got killed by Ultra-ling-muta. The opponent just didnt finish me off until I had depleted both bases of resocurces. Oh, and here's the kicker. The zerg guy had hatcheries at ALL THE OTHER BASES!!!

long story short, I can't play well against zerg

Yeah, I struggle with TvZ most on Taldarim as well. It's so wide and has multiple ways around everywhere it's hard to control the middle with tanks like I usually try to do. It's also quite easy for them to get up a hidden expansion if you're not paying attention. It's also super easy for the Zerg to get a early defend-able 2nd, 3rd and kinda 4th.

Anybody here follow the latest pro SC2 tournaments? Idra (the best Zerg player and best foreigner or non-Asian) won the IEM, I watched some of the videos of his wins on youtube, pretty instructive stuff

I think I like ghost-nuking in the late-mid game too much. Just played a 1hr TvT where I should have used cloaked banshees to break the siege line, but was too fixated on nuking my opponent. I launched about 10 nukes, but only 1 killed any units (about 10 siege tanks). The others just hit vacated space or got cancelled.

and I got raged at in a 2v2, because I was put into Plat even though I should be bronze. My teammate yelled at me for a full minute before he quit, just because 2 zealots survived a clash of forces and killed some of his workers. All in all, I don't think I'm gonna play any more 2v2's for a while.

I still find it funny when people rage at a game.

IPL3 is going on this weekend which is worth a look, internet went down yesterday but we got to watch Huk v Boxer in BW so that made up for it.

He had a cry in IPL3 and quit after losing to White-Ra I hear.

On the weekend, my mate and I reached top Gold (SEA) in 2v2. Hopefully heading to plat soon as we're matching them a lot of the time.

He just got back from IEM China so forfeited the rest of his matches in pool play after he lost to white ra because he was so tired. It was only for seeding so not a big deal. He made it to the quarter finals after that.

Man hopefully next season me and my buddy can hit top gold. Were top 8 right now (5) but we just dont play enough. Everytime we go to play another friend gets on and we do 3v3. I can only play so much sc2 at a time. Its one of the few games that makes me truly focus.

You guys should hop on tonight sometime, I think I might actually play some games... usually in house 1v1 practice stuff, you guys could possibly watch a few of the games :p

Or play me. That would be fun too.

PS: I'm now a 1k Bronze, that's hilariously bad. One day...I'll go up.

PM me your ID or Email or Skype or whatever.

So had a few games against our resident GTP expert here. Needless to say, Mr Azure is feeling a little worse for wear after the punishment I dished out. He also went 3-0.

I might post the Metalopolis game replay if anyone is interested, it was by far the closest (For a while).

Till next time...

aww.. I missed getting my butt whooped! I would like to watch the replay, so if you could post it casio, that would be great

I started playing around with some of my own builds for Terran today, and have come across a good one to stop zerg stomping me. I go for fast cloak banshee, using the factory to make the tech lab, lifting, and going into reactor hellions. poke with the hellions, then hit with 2 banshees once cloak is done. Once the hellions go in, expand whilst the zerg goes into scamble, then (hopefully), apply tank/thor and hellion pressure.

On another note, you guys want to form some gtp teams for 3v3 or 4v4 matches?

So what do you guys speculate the new zerg unit will be in HotS? Theres a silhouette of it posted on the starcraft site.
