What? Picture of distraction?

No the picture of you playing awfully in your placement match, why would I wanna see a picture of a girl half naked trying on outfits?? Get with the program:dopey:

Learn to micro then. Which means getting Ghosts and working with EMP a bit more. As mentioned, there is no reason to not use Ghosts in a TvP, as they talk half a Stalker's life off instantly, not to mention ruin Sentries and Immortals.

Need a strong macro game before you can focus intently on micro. I agree ghosts are very useful against protoss.

As much as I want to learn proper micro, it's all useless if you can't macro, and in the low leagues, good macro can win you 90% of your games. My current micro is acceptable at the moment, but if I micro hard, I cannot macro at all. So I tend to try and get the advantage in numbers or decent tech, and just a-move at the moment. This is not excatly optimal, but it works at the moment. But adding ghosts into the mix and quickly using EMP is above my current skill level. I can probably go cloak and then engage after an EMP salvo, but I am just not quick enough yet. But I have only been playing for less than a month

I always put my ghosts on a separate hotkey (Generally 6), enter the battle, Press 6, Spam X, Profit.

I have a question about hotkeys... What do you all use? I use 1,2 and 3 for units, 4 for OC's, 5 for rax, 6 for factories, 7 for starport, 8 for Ghost academies (for Nukes) and 9/0 for anything else (PF's, e-bays, armouries, etc).

and also, I hate mass muta. it literally caused me to rage at the zerg (he may or may not have taunted me, but whatever).

Something like that, I'd swap the ghost academies for the e-bays but yeah.

I got in a weird habit of having 3 as rax and 5 as OCs 6and on for other buildings and 1,2, and 4 for units.

When I play terran, I generally use only use 5 hot keys, maybe key 6 for ghosts.

1- SCV scout, main army
2- starport's
3- factories
4- barracks
5- OC's

just started season 4 and was placed in silver league.

I'm slightly different to most people.

~ - Main Army Ball
1 - OCs
2 - Barracks
3 - Factories
4 - Starports
5 - An SCV or Two in the later game so I can keep up the depot/building production
6 - Ghosts or if I'm not using Ghosts my harassment/drop units not part of my main army (Usually Medivacs/Banshee,etc)
7 - Above if I'm using Ghosts

Anything after that I find it too awkward to reach. At a stretch the span of my pinky to my index finger is Grove-to-8, but I can do Grove-to-7 comfortably.

Oh boy Terran land.

Anyhow, I played Random so I tend to have a more generic idea...

1 - Main Army
2 - Harass, flyers, etc
3 - Casters - HT, Ghosts, etc
4 - Terran Production, Queens, Robo/Stargate
5 - OC, Nexus, Hatcheries (all of them)
6 - Obs, Overseer, misc units
7 through 0 as needed for certain situations.

Oh and against Mass muta... build thors, profit? Well, thors and marines.

My problem with ghosts is I like to keep my whole army on at least one hotkey at all times and then I split up specialty units into other hotkeys. Unfortunately when I include ghosts into my main hotkey they are priority so I can't use stim. Yes it's a micro issue and it's my problem but I hate it right now.

Did my placement for season 4 and am finally in Silver league on my main SEA account. 👍 Definitely aiming to get to Gold soon, I beat nearly all silver players so should be too hard.

The funny thing is, I played awfully in my placement match, stuffed up everything at the start, and my GF was showing me clothes she had just bought for 50% of the game so was super distracted. And in the end won with pure Marine/Hellion despite being attacked by 89 banelings, a flock of Mutas, losing my only expansion, and a billion SCVs. Gotta take them though.....

Here is the replay if you want to see how bad a Zerg can play in Silver league...

Wow he probably felt pretty confident after that baneling attack... overly confident.

Here's my last game of the night with my 2v2 teammate. We got placed silver quickly won the first two games then went into crappy games for most of the night, got this win and stopped there. Probably the best macro game I've had in awhile.

I suppose criticism is always welcome. I know I faceplanted it in the first attack but the Thors did a hefty amount of damage. :D

Got to rank 1 in my Bronze division (Overmind Yankee, weird names huh?) tonight, and I have found that what used to be my worst matchup, TvZ, is now my best, and my original best, TvP is just awful. I tend to feel like I macro better in TvP, but I still don't seem to get enough units out in my current 3 rax approach. I know what I need to do, but I just don't do it quick enough.

And TvT is a real mixed bag at the moment. I tend to make up what I'm doing as I go, so there is definitely room for improvement.

And Casio, I watched your replay, and kept thinking that you need to tech a little more. I don't recall you using a tech lab at any point in the match. I know you got an e-bay, but I prefer an upgrade heavy style (that's just me)

Thats exactly what I do in my games, anything after building a standard supply depot at 10, is just gonna be purely a feel move. I'm like, yeah I'll build a barracks here, hmmm maybe I'll go for 2 rax pressure, nah I'll just defend my choke point with a bunker, wait, building a few hellions might be good, how about an enginnering bay just incase he goes banshees, oh wait lets just go all in with marines and scv's, yeah thats sounds good...oops gg.:dopey:

My favourite part of that game was this.

I always laugh when people try and block the rocks with supply depots. While also leaving his stupid amount of tanks completely out of the main battle that took place. But at least the rocks were defended!

I was also laughing at the double tech-lab factories. If you focus on them, at the start it's like they were built to alternate building tanks, but never at the same time, maybe one gets tired.

Yeah we didnt play a good team but i could tell my macro game was doing good. I use my teammate as reference since hes a better player than I am.

Edit: Aaand i live up to my title. Ive been using that strategy in the video i posted and it feels like its alllowed me to play much better. Me and my teammate won 7/7 games tonight and now sit comfortably at the top of our division.👍

Okay, I've started to feel better about my micromanagment, and my EMP's vs Protoss. I find that if I can defend the inevitable 4-gate, I can win 90% of my TvP.

I played a really good game the other day, just after 1.4.2 came out, and I would humbly ask for your opinions on my play. Keep in mind I'm still fairly new at the game, and I know my macro is not brilliant, but I would greatly appreciate a few remarks about my play from a subjective source

I had a quick look and basically you were heaps ahead the entire game.

The thing I would say is be a bit more active with scouting. I generally use my 6:30 scan to scout the opponents base if I haven't got a clear idea of what they're doing already. At 7:50 you had concuss/stim finished, 5 Mauraders and 6 marines vs 1 zealot 2 stalkers and 2 sentries (and his +1 hadn't finished yet), really I think you could have won the game right there. :)

Sweet. Just earned a promotion to silver.

And casio, thanks for giving it a look. I always think about early agression, but i get stuck in the mindset of "just wait for this upgrade", or "one more round of units", or "I want to get building x up first". But I never really end up going, apart from hellions/banshee harrass

I'm by no means an expert, but concuss/marauder is never a bad thing to have a little poke with. If they opened stalker then you'll have an easy time, if they've gone zealot heavy then you'll be able to retreat with help of concussive.

This is quite true. A Marine, Marauder, and maybe an SCV or another Marine can be quite a headache early on in the game.

And I finally played some ladder games again. Replay from a 30 minute PvZ where I was a bit sloppy, but the Zerg was probably more so....

So after getting a 10 game streak with my friend we promptly slumped down into a 6 game losing streak than finally mustered two wins before stopping. We must've been getting pitted against higher skilled players. Because all of the sudden we were getting dominated.

I find that happens a lot in 2v2.

I think because less players more chance to match up against someone higher/lower.

My mate and I are #1 Gold and generally play Plats in Even Matchups (Hope for promotion soon). We'll win a few in a row, then all of a sudden match up against 2 Master leaguers who put us in our place. Also sometimes match up against Bronze leaguers.

I do need more 2v2 Veto's though. On a lot of maps it's near on impossible for 2 players to get a reasonable expansion each. Nevermind a 3rd. Control the map and win...

Had a few games with Azure the other day. Had him panic'd and on the back foot with my skills and ubermicro.

This happens in all the matching, from what I've found. I've had it where I will dismantle a series of players and then get put up against very solid players, whether they just have brutally crisp timings on their all-ins or simply amazing macro and control. It can be a bit frustrating at times, I do admit, but it shows you are improving, usually.

If you find yourself struggling, review a few replays to see why it is you are losing games. Consider how their pushes are timed, what you could have done differently, etc. As I was talking with Casio, some things really do depend on 15 second windows to do damage, and so just pausing your units so you can move a building or such can cost you that window.

Played one of my worst games ever last night. Up 200-119 supply, 75 to 49 workers, 5 bases vs 2. And then went and lost cause of dumb things I did. Arghhh...so much rage, especially cause I should have won within the first 7 minutes.

Todays GSL Code S final was absolutely sick. Get on it if you can.

Replay of a game I should have won within the first 7 minutes (Got too greedy), lost my whole main, started again from the other side of the map and proceed to kick some gold level ass. FIGJAM.
