Day 24

Spent "A LOT" of time trying to find a car that would let the competition be competitive in the Grand Valley 300k. After some practice laps found the FT-86 tuned to 230HP on Sport Softs in a field that sports 340HP is the way to go. Won't be blowing anybody out with it.

Then ran and did not finish the Super GT race on lvl 22. Got the Castrol Mugen NSX as a lvl 17 gift. Not a bad car but it will need to be tuned up to fight with the Xanavi.

Ran the Indy 500 again unassisted this time with the Minolta. Bob came in 4th. Then ran the Laguna Seca with Bob unassisted using the Buggati and placed 5th.

Right now the goal is to grind for dollars and XP. Want to get to 20 million then another 10 million CR and finish A & B as soon as I can, so I can concentrate on just enjoying the cars.

Ran Laguna Seca twice and Indy once on B-Spec and Dream car twice.

Then reran the Super GT same car, no changes.

Extreme
Super GT

Typical Opponent HP 509
Castrol Mugen - 499HP

Suzuka - 5.691 sec win
Fuji - 3.355 win
R246 - 7.038 win

Cr Total: 9.838
Lvl: 28.4 A-spec
Prize: Calsonic Skyline GT-R Race Car

Hit Lvl 30 on B-Spec which opens up the "Vettle Challenge".

Started with Monza since I'd bronzed it before. 3 tries to Bronze this time. Ran it a dozen more times and best was 2:09.5, need 2:055 for Silver. I think the key is hitting the Chicane perfectly. Observed the example and it hit the first lap at 1:05. I keep hitting it at 1:07.

Almost half way to buying an Orange X1. 👍:)

Day 26

Started the Laguna Seca in B-Spec again running the Ford Mustang V8 GT this time. The Ford finished 7th. Running it again this time using the BMW V12. Won it by 8 laps. However only got 165k XP. It takes 1.015 million to get to level 32-B

Bought a Vauxall ABT Super Touring. Wanted to run the German Touring Car with something other than the Lexus IS-F.

Ran the new Vauxall Super Touring. Very nice car. Like the way it sounds and the way it handles. Soon will win the Lexus IS-F and I definitely want to compare the two. The Lexus is probably a better car but...we will see.

Ran the races in a different order starting with my favorite:

Nurburgring: Win 3.671 secs

Cape Ring: Win 2.016 secs

Nurburgring GP/D: Win 1.321 secs

Cr Total: 9.2 million
Lvl: 28.7

Ran a few more B-Specs concentrating on closing out levels starting with beginner. Of my 3 drivers not trapped online two have run 60 races the other only 29; so I'm using Bob-29 to run these non-endurance races.

Day 27

Closing in on a month. Lets see how close I get, in less time, to where I was the first time around.

What's left of the Specs?

A-Spec

Closed out Beginner, Amateur, Professional and Expert.

Extreme
1. Nascar Series (I think I can Gold Jeff Gordan advanced and get one free)
2. Formula GT (Waiting to finish Endurance to earn one)

Endurance
All 9 are waiting me to have the TIME to do them.

B-Spec
Going to work on closing out as many as I can today.

Beginner
1. K-Cup
2. Vitz Race
Bob will need help on those. Can't tune a car fast enough for him to do it solo.

Amateur
1. Sport Truck (Bob needs serious help)
2. Classic Muscle Car (Ford F40 might work)
3. Super Car Nostalgia (Starting with this today using the Toyo 7 RC

Professional
Only one complete here is the Muscle Car Championship.
8 of 9 to go.

Expert
1. Historic Racing car Cup
2. Gallardo

Extreme
1. Nascar Series
2. German Touring
3. Formula GT

Endurance
As soon as a race becomes available it's on tap!
1. Nurburgring 4 hr
2. Tsukuba 9hr
3. 24hr Le Mans
4. 24hr Nurburgring

Super Car Nostalgia
Easily won the first two races with the Toyota 7, then I discovered how slow it is accelerating when it got beat twice at Laguna Seca. It could not handle the constant slow down/speed up required to win at that track. Brought out the Ford GT40 and it did the job.

Light Weight K-Cup
Had won the 2nd race in this series a while back using a max tuned Suzuki Move. It couldn't win Autumn Ring. Tuned up a Cupacino to 121HP and got it finished.

Vitz Race
Tuned a Yaris to 145HP to win unaided.

Sport Truck & Classic Muscle
I tuned up a Chevy SSR to almost 700HP and Bob won by 25 secs
For Classic Muscle the Ford GT40 did the trick again unaided.

Closed out Beginner and Amateur on B Spec

Ran American Championship at Indy several times looking for the most competitive set up and Laguna Seca (Seca there appears to be no middle ground either you're blown out or you blow out the comp. Then ran some German Touring - Nurburg.

Day 28 May 4

Finally got to the Grand Valley 300k. Those results will be posted here: Duarte Racing

It was a chore to get through it. Was also surprised by the tire wear.
Ran a couple Dream Car events in B-Spec to build cash. It's going to be a staple for several days. I'm at 12 million needing 8 more to hit 20 and buy an X1. Then I want another 10 million before I buy anything else. I want to stay at a constant 10 mil just in case I find something in the UCD I really want.

The Minolta 88-C is going to need an engine overhaul (or two) by the time this is done.

For now it's all about closing out all of B spec. Beginner and Amateur are done. Working on Professional, which means "suping-up" cars a.k.a. spending tons of money, so Bob can win first time. Gonna work up through Expert, then Endurance and finish with the FGT race. Believe I can an FGT with the Endurance lvl ticket.

Day 33

Started by having the Bobs run 4hr Nurburg again using the Bugatti. Gave them about 2hrs worth of help to get way infront of the field. Lapped everyone except the Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo (which I think I'll use when I run the race in A). The Bugatti won with 1/2 lap lead 3+min on the S2000.

Here's the status of the Bobs:

B.Asahara - Lvl 33 - 52 wins in 71 races
B. Tikkanen - Lvl 32 - 49 wins in 76 races
B. Grasso - Lvl 32 - 58 wins in 70 races

B=Currently lvl 33 will run the 9hr overnight tomorrow.

Gonna buy a S2000 GT1 Turbo, max tune and play with it some.

More of what the Bobs did:

Honda HSC - love this car. Has pretty good pep *** Hyunda Clix (another good one) *** 25th Anniversary Lambo Countach *** VW Lupo GTI ***
Isuzu Piazza XE *** '82 Audi Quattro *** Aston Martin V8 Vantage

Day 34

Going to run the Laguna Seca Challenge today and then put the Bobs on the 9hr Tsukuba Race.

Change 2: Ran some A spec with various cars just wanted to have "fun" driving. Now is that to say B-spec grinding ain't fun? It is a means to an end. (CR & prize cars).

Drove the Zonda R at Daytona & Indy, Faulken, Buick Special, Amuse S2000. Did the MR Challenge, Tuned Car Challenge, Like the Wind, European Challenge & Got the Z4M and SL-55 around Nurburgring a few times.

Now the Bobs are grinding for cash. Gonna give the system a rest tonight and get the Tsukuba 9 started early in the A.M.

Nice Journal. I'm doing the same, but haven't held back on the tuning so much. I don't want to rain on your parade but you do know that this:

"A=30.1 B=33.9"

Does not stack up with this:

"CLOSING IN ON 20MIL *** ORANGE X2010 TODAY OR TOMORROW " ?:ouch:

Um yeah, I thought this would come up before, but I think you need to be level 40 (in A or B) to be allowed to buy an X1. A few weeks of letting the PS3 run long B-spec endurance races appears to be in your future.

Also, having a blast levelling up the wife's account while PSN is down.

I am buying up unpaintable cars whenever they pop up in the UCD, also I always put the best tires that Bob is allowed to use on cars that will be used in B-spec. I do some light tuning when I feel llike it (air filter, ECU, suspension, etc.)

I am using a DS3, am not that patient, and not that good so I am happy with a silver on most licenses and special events.

Yep, I'm aware! Thanks though! 👍

Actually, PD did a pretty bad job of providing events for the X2010 & the F1's. There really isn't an F1 event nor X2010 other than special. A few A-specs needed.

Why are you buying the unpaintable cars in the UCD?

Day 36

I hear the trumpeters warming up in the background~! Ready to blare their welcome to my X2010 and Penniless trophy!

Ran a couple German Touring car Nurburgring to bring my credit total over 19.2 million. Going to run one Dream Car then the Trumpeters can have their performance! ;)

Of Course I have to get the whole thing on Video!

Yep. I have a LOT to post. However, going to spend about 30 min or so driving a few of my NEW cars before I go to bed this morning.

This is what getting 20 mil looks like (including the "loss" of revenue).

This is what buying an X2010 looks like

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why would you make it available at level 30 but not allow you to purchase until level 40?

This is what I got for my MONEY!

Playing with my new toys.

Day 39

The Bobs ran the 9hr Tsukuba using the Ferrari 599 max tuned. Won by over two laps.

More playing with my new toys!

This week plan on doing more A-Spec events (already golden) with the new rides.
This coming weekend the Bobs will run the 24hr races.

Hi, I started over planning to spend as little as possible recently. Have not got far but completed the ff challenge in a 101bhp ballade sports crx with no oil change and on comforts after a few tries and some rather boisterous overtaking into first corners. Managed the yaris race in the prize car too. :) nice thread.

Day 40 & 41 (5/17)

Have done a lot including by several new cars. However, the primary focus was just enjoying the cars.

B-Spec
Got to level 35 and now have an X2010 to tool around in. Took several laps to get reacquainted with it. I created an Eifel track thats as wide as you can get and as straight as you can get (subtle turns). It's designed for flat out racing and that's where I ran the X2010 and a RMed Tuscan speed 6.

Got all my Bobs back and sent two back online for Remote racing. I'm dedicated to running at least 1 remote race a day. If we had 20 guys likewise dedicated we could make a lot of bling. So if you're interested my PSN is FLsurffisher.

The Bobs have been running the 4hrs of Nurb endurance race. Only have left the two 24hr races and a few races in other levels. They're almost done. Their focus after that is only remotes and grinding Dream Car for cash to buy cars and parts.

A-Spec
Cleaned up the remaining Championship races on levels below Extreme. You can get gold without winning all the races. I had a few with silvers that I had to turn into gold. All that remains on Extreme FTG and Nascar. Not going to buy either car. Will eventually earn them. Then 8 of the 9 endurance races are left. Eventually I'll find the time to get all of those done except the 24hr races. Hoping PD will get that race save fixed.

Raced a little on line.

Did a few of the seasonals. Since the PSN outage none of the seasonal results prior have been saved. I know I got gold on most of them but it's showing I've done nothing in them.

Also did a little arcade for the first time. It's interesting the cars the system chooses to match you up with. For example the Race Modded Tuscan Spd 6 was matched with Xanavi class cars. The Tuscan is 389HP. The Xanavi's 490-500 HP.

Going forward...

...the two 24hr B-spec races this weekend.

...next week A-spec endurance races.

...in-between a little of everything.

Good job using the lower HP cars to win! Makes it challenging and fun IMO!

Day 42 - 5/19

Lamborghini Seasonal!!!
Again at Toscana! It's all in the tracks and Toscana is one of the best for a challenging fun experience. Doesn't matter what car you use you'll do some slippin' and sliddin'! Use the Gallardo and came in 6th then went out and bought a Murcielago to run it with. The Gallardo is better. The Murci doesn't have the same feel of the road and when you come out of a slide you're not feeling when to turn the wheel back over and wind up oversteering.

B-Spec More 4hr Nurb endurance. I'm alternating between the BMW V12 and the Toyota Minolta.

Day 43, 44, 45

A lot accomplished. Assembling a GREAT team of remote racers! They helped me to almost $450,000 today. My AT&T internet was down most of the day, so I'm currently doing my part to help them! Thanks guys & gal!

B-Spec - Lvl 36

Ran the 24h Lemans race tried to find something that wasn't going to make it a "blow-out". No go so I had to bring in the heavy artillery (X2010). It won by over 100 laps. That was somewhere in the neighborhood of 3360 miles.

Did a little grinding in Dream Car. The only other 24h I'll run in B-spec will be the Nurb, when I get there.

A-Spec - Lvl 32

Having fun but also taking care of business.

The Fun part: Running the seasonals and focusing on Lambo Gallardo & Toscana and Shelby Cobra & Toscana! Got a lot of good pictures I'll post probably tomorrow.

More Fun: Driving the 24h Nurb course in Arcade mode. Trying to find the right car to do it with. Something racy, colorful, great acceleration and handles well. Thought the answer was going to be the Nissan Option Stream. It flies off that first hill as soon as you get on the ring. The landings are uncontrollable. Gonna start doing about 5 laps on it in GT Mode now that lvl 32 is open and I have access to it.

Business: Ran Dream car in A-Spec. Then ran two of the Endurance races today.

Laguna Seca 200: finally learned how to drive it after about 35 laps. Was really wearing my tires prior to that. The laps after weren't perfect but tire wear was substantially reduced.

Indy 500: Really wanted something that was going to be competitive and not just blow-away the comp. That was difficult to find. Tried about 4 different cars. The Zonda R may have done the trick, but decided on the Mamut 908 HDI.
