stealth cars?

I've never played GT5, but am interested in knowing exactly what a stealth car is. I know how they're obtained, but what makes a stealth car a stealth car?

They are cars (some slightly tuned, I believe) based on their normal counterparts in GT5, except with a black Gran Turismo livery. Some examples are the SLS AMG, GTR and NSX GT500, 787B and R10 TDI.

The stealth cars can tune slightly higher in cases, are lighter(i think), but most importantly, have more, and adjustable down-force.
For cars like the Mclaren F1 or the SLS, having adjustable down-force up front takes the car to a whole new level.

I only have the stealth mclaren, but compared to the regular one, its a bloodthirsty predator.

No. But you can change the number. Anyway, Why would you want to paint over a carbon fibre body?

Like the Zonda r? I painted over the Zonda r I have because its lines and shape got hidden

Yup, like the Zonda R. I love exposed carbon fibre which is partly why I got the Stealth cars (and left my Zonda R unpainted) so each to their own I guess.
