Steering Wheel Stand

I researched stands for steering wheels, and noticed that they're pretty expensive. Does anyone know of a cheap place to get one online, or of an alternative for a stand?

When I started out, I used a $20 student desk from Kmart, just like this one:

I didn't install the castors, and hard mounted my wheel to the top and the pedals to the base board.

It worked well at the couch, or even with a chair.

I was able to directly attach my DFGT using its stock clamp.. for the T300 I have to use a hardback book under it for now, but I am going to add a new table top and bolt the T300 down.

I did have to modify it.. the pole for height adjustment is too long and I hacked off some so it would not stick out. Then on the top, I obviously wanted it to not "flip" up and down. So I undid the bolts and put in extra washers so I could get it down tight so it would not move.

The main issue is the pedals are not very far forward in my setup.. but I am going to make a few mods this weekend since I will have the time. Planning to extend the top table and put in a pedal stand that will attach to the front leg allowig me to bolt down the pedals and use it as natural leverage to hold the stand down (same idea wheel stand pro, using your own leg weight to add extra stability to the stand)
