Big update on the way once I get home tonight and install my new toy(s). Should be a surprise for pretty much everyone as I have been very quiet about it so far.
I also spent about 4 hours doing some cable management w/ a friend so my rig looks super clean and better than ever.

Come on stega, keep updating this thread. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us this time.

Is it the Massimo Cubeddu wheel?

No but I have a wheel and button box I am working with him to get made but eta on that is like 20+ days. I have been playing alot more PC games and some of my new items reflect that, you will see when I get the pics up.

Holy s**t! That's an awesome setup! 👍 How does the D-Box stuff feel?

What's the name of that modular aluminium you're using? :)

Excellent, youve really gone to the "High End" Stega. Has to be amongst the best around regards the sheer level of equipment used. Im sure you will get immense fun from this both in PC and Console games that support the D-Box and Frex components.

Happy for you and to see you go so far. Heck and to think you were using an Obutto recently eh.

My only question is how it feels having the seat moving but the screens and more importantly the wheel not moving with the seat. Would it be worthwhile at some point having the whole sim move or is that even possible?

Which D-box version did you get?

It's the GPH-120 base only.

Latte I also thought I would need the wheel and screens to be attached, but because the D-box moves so subtle I do not need them attached. I will have to get a video of me driving it for you guys to see. The only real issue is the pedals, when I am in a very powerful car I get pulled back in the seat when I floor it and my feet move up a bit not a huge issue I think I may need to overhang my pedals.

Greeze it's called 80/20.

Yes but very vague, just said they are in talks/contract with both big companies Sony and MS to develop motion code for games.

that's better than nothing (i suppose, but they are in the talks quite a while)
Now the race is on between them and fanatec. Will stick with the winner ;)

I didn't know that was even possible. Or did you get a special deal?

Is it much cheaper for the base only?

How is the frex wheel?

Why didn't you get the ECCI 7000 FFB? It's only a thousand dollars more than the frex wheel. :sly: Insidesimracing said that the frex wheel in nothing compared to the ECCI 7000 FFB wheel.

I had to remove the seat myself and make it work.

Ok. lets see, I saw the vid from ISR that talked about the difference so I know all about this. 1) It is a 6 month waiting period for a new ECCI wheel, it is also $1000 more. 2)the lock to lock on the ECCI cannot be changed and no hard-mount. 3) Shige talks about making the wheel compatible with GT5 and I wanted to get the FREX pedal set with the money saved. 4) The FREX wheel is easy to maintain/repair because of the way it is made, I am not sure I can say the same of the ECCI wheel. 5) also the size of the wheel is a bit large for my mounting area.

But really the waiting period killed it for me.

Here is a quote from ECCI regarding console compatibility:
"We don't have any plans for game console compatibility because all game console manufacturers have licensing restrictions in place that prevent us from offering that. In general they want only relatively large mass market manufacturers to have the rights to produce compatible products."

And here is a quote from Shigee from FREX on the forums:
"I will tell you how to modify our simwheel to GT5 compatible if
they do not officially support FREX when they release it."

The FREX is great so far but I have only had it for a few days now.

Don't forget Yen! hehe

So you bought the entire D-box thing and removed everything you don't need?

How do you rate the frex wheel from 1 to 10 if 10 is the highest score?

Can you do the same for the G27/Fanatec wheel? >> Rate it.

What is the difference between the G27/Fanatec wheel and the frex.

Do tell me!

;)

When can we go to Stega's and play?

Get me an invite too and you can rely on me for the coffee, err beer's heck even spare motor oil whatever liquids take your fancy.

Stega Im 100% certain Codemasters had D Box working with Dirt 2 but uncertain if PC or Console.
Do you have a list of Console games that do work?

Sorry I got my new real car yesterday so I have been very busy. As far as I know no console games work atm, only pc. But in the near future support should begin to pop up. But yhea if you guys are in Florida look me up! hehe.

Make a youtube clip and post it, okay? I would like to see you race in your new cockpit and see the D-box in action.

Nice looking setup. You'll have to give us a full rundown of your experience with the D-Box and that Frex Wheel.

;)

Why don't make a thread about your new car. I guess it's a BMW M3?

Well its really just stock still... It's a Le Mans blue 2011 M3 Convertible. I got it tinted w/ 3m crystalline tint. And am having a jammer/detector installed as we speak. I can take some pictures later if anyone wants.

We want! But this is not the appropriate forum.

I would ask what your significant other thinks, but it's obvious you're single. Sick setup!
