Hey. can i still get the time trial from the store ? I didnt know it was coming and ive heard it will be up until Feb. 17 but i cant find it and i cant search for it on the Japanese store :)

If you know anyone else with a PS3 that had the trial,
ask them for their e-mail and password. Log into their
account on your PS3, then check their download
history in the PSN store. You can download anything
they already downloaded. It would have to be someone
that trusts you. Good luck.

I'm glad I downloaded it. Now I only need GT5 Prologue Demo!

If you want it, I can give you, add me on PSN.

The TT demo has a time limit. It will expire in about two weeks.

I think it's expired already, at least for me anyway. I get an error when I try to start it.

EDIT: That was wierd, it's working now.

So what's the answer here? I am finally getting an internet connection at my home on this coming Wednesday where I'll be able to download this demo on my new PS3 slim. Is it still available?

Figures. Sony's marketing department has made so many mistakes with the PS3, especially with their blockbuster games. Why wouldn't they take a demo for a killer-app off of the Playstation Store?

It's not exactly a demo in the usual sense where the game demo is used to show/advertise what a final game will be like, it's function was for GT academy and I imagine that a lot of casual gamers who downloaded it but had no interest in GT academy but were looking to see if they'd like GT as a racing game might actually be put off a bit by it.

The fact that Motor Trend has traditionally prefaced recent GT titles is a testament that Gran Turismo appeals to a sincerely wider variety of individuals than the casual gamer. I suggest that many Motor Trend readers don't play video games. Just because the demo "won't appeal to everyone" doesn't give Sony or PD a reason to remove the demo. It is a distinct selling-point that Sony/PD are able to develop a game with such realism for their console.
The GT Academy demo is something that sincerely appeals to me (and I'm sure I'm not the only person with these sentiments) and should have been left on the Playstation Store until the release of the game (or until a demo of a further development of GT5).

The casual gamer is still very much the target majority and I know quite a few casual gamers who have been put off by preivious full GT games because they find them too difficult or unforgiving (that's with arcade settings etc.). So I can see the TT demo putting off more potential buyers than it attracts when people aren't fully aware of the purpose of the demo. I'm pretty sure there will be a proper game demo coming at some point to remedy this though.

question: does the demo expire in to weeks if you already have it? (eg it disappears from your hard drive?)

I too am wanting to get my hands on PS3 (cousins) and dl the demo....but if you cant play it in 2 weeks time its not worth the hassle!

I thought it was confirmed that you could play the TT demo forever, just that the rankings wouldn't work.

I could be wrong I guess but it still works for me and the contest qualifiers are over, so I can't see them disabling it now.

If you want it bad private message me and maybe we'll work out getting it off my account after I research the potential damage that could be done to me.. -_^

I know it extremely unlikely but maybe the time trial demo expires on Wednesday 24th February in readiness for the weekly PSN update on Thursday 25th February when a proper GT5 demo will be released??

I'm at stage 3 (bargaining) of the Kübler-Ross model (five stages of grief) :(

It tells me off every time I start it up that my date and time is wrong. I think I'll set it back a few days and see if that helps. When it's meant to expire.

Try synchronizing your PS3's time and date with the Internet, it should work then.

Sorry my post made no sense. What I mean is a i get an error about my time and date but I can still play it fine. So hopefully I can set my date back a few weeks and when the demo is meant to expire it might continue to work. Maybe.

^ Still at stage 1 (denial) of the Kübler-Ross model ;)

Pfft, I dunno. I'll let you know if it works. TBH I only turned it back on to see how I was with the controller.

It is so much better with a wheel and easier once you get the hang of it. I've tried prologue and the time trial with a dual shock since getting the DFGT but it's just no where near as involving.

If you can keep the demo working by changing the clock I'll be very happy!

While I agree with your second sentence, the first one is hard to say is true. But it depends on the person really. I'm still struggling with the TT physics with the wheel. I finally got within half a second of my Sixaxis time the other night, but that was as close as I could get. Other laps were spent messing up corners or just plain spinning out. :grumpy:

Thing is you're a demon with a dual shock were as I'm rubbish with both but slightly less so with a wheel :)

If I'm being honest I find the TT demo difficult no matter what I'm using as it's near impossible for me to correct even the slightest of slides. Prologue is easier but it's still much easier for me to slide with a controller on that.

Was it you who suggested Indy backwards? Tried it the other night and it does make the track significantly different, good call. 👍

Wasn't this demo supposed to expire today? I went and played it. I could even re-download it under my download history list I think. Anyone else have other results.
