For me, this is the last GT game I buy. I don't have all day to play this game like some people, and with the new update they messed it up more...I would hope most of us have real lives and jobs and even kids and what not.
Who are they to say how I play the game in single player mode... duping is cheating duping is not cheating, really? Takes over 5 years to make and this is what we get? Oh, and I just ordered a wheel for it too. Return that and selling the game, nice knowing you PD. This franchise is doomed, There wont be another game until PS4.. and it's still gonna be crap...

I have a real life and a job and kids (well, kid in my case ) luckily for me I'm also loving GT5. Sorry it's not what you were looking for in a game but in all honesty that post just makes you sound like your throwing the rattle out of your crib.

I've had all JDM versions, Prologue, built a coffee table which converts into a cockpit for the G27, and I am about done playing. Going to give it a few more months, but I am really getting bored of the game as well.

That trailer does look cool, but they are making some pretty big claims there. I guarantee you it will not have the most realistic physics model in a racing game, or nobody would play it.

I'll believe it when I see it, but I am definitely looking forward to trying it out

I will say this...
Last update they changed the UCD in many ways, yes they added more colors for cars, great, but they also changed the order they are to appear, the "GT5 Used car cycle" spreadsheet website is no longer accurate, I was able to see what was coming down the UCD with accuracy thus saving the money needed when a car I wanted was to appear. Well that doesn't work anymore so I backed up my GT5 file and advanced ahead using the license test to advance the UCD 5 days at a time to see what was coming next. Well after advancing about 300 days I found about 3 cars I am interesting in buying, compared to the 10-15 I had coming my way before the last update.

Yes, I'm still enjoying GT5...

My job involves long overtime hours and when I'm not out socialising, that doesn't leave a lot of time at home to play this. So, in my case still plenty to do in A-spec, I enjoy Photomode a lot, still have plenty of cars that I want to purchase in the game, and I quite enjoy the seasonals.

Have just started making music playlists for the game, and yet to get started on the course maker mode which I hope to get round to soon. Plus, I'm keen to see what the future updates will do for the game.

I accept the game has flaws and was overhyped but that doesn't really bother me as the core aspect of the game with the driving physics and being able to drive on circuits like the Nordschleife/Monza/Suzuka has provided entertainment for me. Don't think I'll be done with this game for a fair while yet...

As soon as Shift 2 comes out, I'm jumping ship. And don't answer the fan boys here, they'll say "bye bye", "more server space for me" or "Kaz is my girlfriend and everything he does is EPIC".

You're on a GT5 board, there's going to be smart people that will reply and fan boys with geek words like EPIC, LEET or whatever the words are.

yea i was one of the contributors to the compiled ucd cycle and i was pissed when i saw that pd changed it up. They have increased the race cars to appear more often and have added more colors to some of the other cars as well

alright i watched that Shift-2 video on the first page. i have some things to say about that.

1. I'm not completely a GT fanboy. I loved Gt1, 2, 3, 4, and Gt5 is slightly below average, so far.

2. WTF is that car with that silly ass wing on the front?!? from about 1m45s, and they say the X1 is ridiculous?!? I dont know if it's real or for the game or what but... i dont know.

3. their claim to having the most advanced physics system ever released in a racing game. What are you serious?! Telemetry in a racing game? wow, Simbin's FIA GTR-2 has it, had it since i dont know '05 or '06 whenever it came out exactly; oh wait it exports practice/qual/race session data directly to MoTeC?!? what every major winning racing team uses?!? since '05/'06. even 'amateur modders' have created telemetry display programs identical to the display @2m01s; a few years ago. something i kinda expected from PD but was let down. how do i know when i have the right camber if i dont know the difference between inside tyre temp to the middle and outer temps; just guess, i guess.

4. Night time racing. Again GTR-2 you drive any time of the day in 30minute (or 60) increments. since '05/'06. Something i was expecting from PD.

5. My favourite new feature from Shift2. The one i keep crying about to Kaz via tweet and all over these boards. The "look to apex" option @2m52s. Again FIA GTR2 and RACE '07. Something i've been expecting since v1.05

6. Sweaty palms?! Try GTR2 at night at Monza in the 550 Maranello GTR or Eau Rouge in the Murcielago GTR flat out.

7. Preety graphics. Shift 2 has some preety graphics, except for those flames they look like cylinders with some opacity and flame mapping. I remember all the teaser videos of GT5 having amazing flawless graphics. I remember all those 18megapixel pictures of GT5, oddly i never saw any of the Bugatti Veyron or Bentley Speed 8.

8. Any video with a lot of racing clips, specially involving german cars gets me "pump up".

You guys can have my server space, i havent raced online since people have been cutting the last chicane at Trial Mountain.
But I'm still playing.

Not even close. I love this game, and I'll be pre-ordering Gran Turismo 6 as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

to the OP, Considering the GT series has always been my favorite video game along with FIFA, I cant see ever giving it up. Kids or not, I would find time. Sure thats probably easy for me to say because I dont have any. This is really the only PS game I can play anymore as i was recently paralized and my fingers dont really work anymore - thank goodness all you reaaly need to play it are the controller's joysticks. Considering I cant drive my car anymore this is pretty good for me. Besides, what other car game would I play, Need For Speed? LOL, IMO there are two types of race gamers : GT players and arcade style players and I cant stand the need for speeds and what have you games.

I think you might find SMS have heard of GTR2, having, uh, written most of it as Blimey!

Shift actually uses the same base system as that used by GTR2 for telemetry for in-car displays and car tracking, down to many of the field names. The only thing they didn't do was include the export plugin (this was itself an extremely late last minute addition to GTR2 and was provided by some australian coder external to them).

Helmet cam does not at all look to be the same thing as look to apex, which was a simple input filter that makes the view track at a percentage of wheel input. It looks more like they're doing it using some AI/object of interest sort of system.

Wait so you can't cheat anymore to get cars (that the only thing that change really) and because of that you're gonna sell a new wheel you just ordered and the game ? Wow.

It's to the point now where I only race once per week in an event I organize. I even stopped doing the rubberband grind.

The only thing left that I actually want to complete is a single-sitting solo 24HR LeMans race, which won't happen probably until later this summer

Care to explain to me how car trading is cheating, or how for that matter putting a 1,000,000 cap on trades helps anything.

Think about this for a second. A friend of mine is disabled, obviously he can't play the game as well as I can. He still loves cars and loves to drive them around. I have all the cars in the game, I earned them legitimately. Are you seriously happy that I can't gift my friend Race cars anymore. Why? Seems you are the person who only thinks about himself, and take some perverse pleasure in seeing others miserable.

I don't trade, but I think the 1m cap is ridiculous. It's just PD's way of covering up for the fact that they made a crap game and the only way (some) people can enjoy it is by cheating. Let them cheat for all I care
