Recently I have been hearing loud rubbing noises in my stock cpu fan.I am running the AMD 3.4ghz quad core processor. The processor is only 6 months old.I am wondering what is a good replacement fan for my cpu.

Thanks!

Make sure it is clean of any dust bunnies or other obstructions, including the fan wires....

There are plenty of aftermarket coolers that can get you up and running should the fan be shot.

I cleaned the fan yesterday, the sound quieted but it's still very well present. For $30 I am willing to buy a new one from Newegg.I shall clean it again tomorrow and see what the status is on it.Would it be better to go to liquid cooling?I've always wanted to try it and my case has the grommets to run liquid cooling.

There are some closed systems for liquid cooling these days that makes it really easy to get into. Corsair comes to mind. I think their kits are around $100 or so. I like liquid cooling myself, and would say, HECK YEAH, but that decisions is totally up to you.

I'm looking at the H60 and H100,I would love to get the H100 although I think that would be overkill. My PC is not over clocked, the only games I play on it are Minecraft and TF2.

Thank you for your help!

I would agree that the H60 would probably be the better choice, especially if you are running stock speeds.

It's funny you post that link because I was just doing research on the Hyper 212 Plus,it's on Newegg for $30.I shall order it tomorrow morning.

Thanks again for the help,it's GT5 time!
