This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible.

With the new more open ended format means that part of the challenge will be finding a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view. It is also difficult to predict which types of tires a car will come with before purchasing.

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

In order to participate your car must be stock.

1) A stock car is essentially any car as it is when purchased from the dealership or won as a prize: it will have had no modifications, added parts, or adjustments done that affect how the car performs.
2) No oil changes are permitted: if you have had an oil change you must wait until the effects of the HP boost have been removed by driving over 300 km.
3) You must use the original tire type that came with the car, unless dirt or snow tires are required.
4) No changes to any “Car Settings” are permitted: they must ALL be left at their default values. [Note: cars that come with Fully Customizable Suspension that were purchased or won prior to patch 1.11 must have the suspension settings restored to default in order to be updated with the new stock suspension settings.]
5) No SRF or ASM is permitted: other “Driver Assists” are permitted.

Basically, the ONLY changes you may make to a car include: painting the car and changing a car’s racing number. Any other changes means your car is not stock.

Stock Seasonal Time Trials #65:

Non-Race Cars and Tuned Cars Super Lap: target 0:56.000 - Tsukuba - 600PP - SS - repeat

2WD Racing Car Super Lap: 8:30.000 - Nurburgring 24 - 630PP - RH - repeat

Lowest PP cars from last time:

600PP at Tsukuba:
555PP - 55.849 - Amuse Carbon R (R34) '04 - SS - FR - 594hp - 1123kg - MadMax
555PP - 55.743 - HPA Motorsports FT565 twin turbo 2007 - SS - 4WD - 565hp - 1338kg - Ed_Night

630PP 2WD RC at Nurburgring 24:
553PP - 8:27.153 - BMW M3 GTR Race Car '01 - RH - FR - 943hp - 1120kg - coryclifford

My results so far with a wheel and an automatic transmission:

600PP at Tsukuba:
555PP - 57.654 - Amuse Carbon R (R34) '04 - SS - FR - 594hp - 1123kg
555PP - 56.187 - HPA Motorsports FT565 twin turbo 2007 - SS - 4WD - 565hp - 1338kg
588PP - 55.544 - HKS CT230R '08 - SS - 4WD - 572hp - 1068kg

The Amuse is not amusing to me. It slips and slides very easily when you apply the throttle. I was close in the HPA but this track is my least favorite so I didn't give it much time. The HKS is the prize car for this TT and is very easy to win here.

630PP 2WD RC at Nurburgring 24:
565PP
- 8:24.060 - Toyota Supra GT500 Base Model '05 - RH - FR - 474hp - 1090kg
553PP - 8:28.704 - BMW M3 GTR Race Car '01 - RH - FR - 443hp - 1120kg

The Toyota is a very easy win here. The BMW was more challenging but worth the effort.

I've gotten better. Or I'm having a good day. :D

BMW GTR at 553pp. Really easy to drive compared to the TS030. Like a Sunday cruise.

And it's 443 hp, not 943.

600PP at Tsukuba:
587PP - 53.583 - Alpine VGT - SS - MR - 443hp - 900kg
560PP - 55.951 - Amuse S2000 GT1 '04 - SS - FR - 520hp - 1180kg

The Alpine is fun but very easy gold. I tried the HPA but didn't get on with it at all. I got to within three tenths but wasn't enjoying it. It's got great grip on the exits but none on the entries which spoils the fun for me. The Amuse amused greatly though. It turns in nicely and you have to be a bit dainty with the throttle until it's pointing straight. Tsukuba doesn't seem to get much love. It's overused I suppose but with the right car I think it's a great little track.

Well done with the M3, chaps. I was eight seconds off with what I thought was a pretty good lap. I think I'm under-driving it after spending a lot of time last week doing it in sports cars.

Ran out of idea what to play with this time, so just something regular.

600PP at Tsukuba:
555PP
- 55.901 - HPA Motorsports FT565 twin turbo 2007 - SS - 4WD - 565hp - 1338kg

630PP 2WD RC at Nurburgring 24:
553PP - 8:29.613 - BMW M3 GTR Race Car '01 - RH - FR - 443hp - 1120kg

- 55.898 - HPA Motorsports FT565 twin turbo 2007 - SS - 4WD - 573cv - 1338kg
558PP - 55.735 - Mine's BNR34 SKYLINE GT-R V-spec N1 base '00 - SS - 4WD - 600hp - 1340kg
560PP - 55.844 - Amuse S2000 GT1 '04 - SS - FR - 528cv - 1180kg
574PP - 55.666 - Mine's BNR34 SKYLINE GT-R N1 base '06 - SS - 4WD - 600hp - 1340kg
588PP - 55.131 - HKS CT230R '08 - SS - 4WD - 581cv - 1068kg

Funny but Tsukuba TT is destroying my fingers...

ciao

Close one!

Call that close?

630PP 2WD RC at Nurburgring 24:

553PP - 8:29.848 - BMW M3 GTR Race Car '01 - RH - FR - 443hp - 1120kg

I can probably go a bit faster now I've learned the limits of the car but we're having a bit of a heatwave here and the fan on my new T300 is howling after that.
Is nobody brave enough to try the Shelby Daytona?

Tuning Festival:

Nice set there, with one notable absence. Did you try the Carbon R?

You are right about the absence, here is the lap time so far:

555PP - 56.016 - Amuse Carbon R (R34) '04 - SS - FR - 603cv - 1123kg

My fingers were paintful after 5 cars and so I decided to stop even if few millisecond for Gold..

Actually it is the more difficult car to drive with pad, you feel "Holiday on Ice" on straight too... next time...

Must have spent an hour in the Carbon R today to gain three thousandths. You'd think it would be possible to find a tenth in that many laps, but I'm right at my limit.
So for a bit of light relief I had a go at the ring with the Shelby. Even Ed_Night didn't quite manage gold last time so I was quite pleased with a silver - only seven seconds off. I don't hold out any hope of getting gold in this car but it's fun trying.

600PP at Tsukuba:
555PP
- 55.966 - Amuse Carbon R (R34) '04 - SS - FR - 603cv - 1123kg

The issue was to avoid the typical Amuse slippage during the long left turn after the bridge, as soon as I found the right geometry...:D

600PP at Tsukuba:
594PP
- 53.540 - Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo - SS - FR - 625cv - 1120kg

What a fun: great sound, handling almost perfect for this circuit, ...

ciao

Well done!

I've been following my S2000 ghost and that section is where I'm losing loads of time on it. Is it best to use the kerb on the left after the bridge and then hug the inside of the sweeping left-hander, or stay to the middle of the track to get the power down earlier?

@StirlingMoose
... stay to the middle of the track to get the power down earlier.
Pay attention to mantain the middle for all the long turn otherwise the bloody slippage...

Meanwhile a new entry for the Tuning Festival:

600PP at Tsukuba:
674PP
- 55.991 - Nissan GT-R NISMO '14 - SS - 4WD - 600cv - 1720kg

I was looking for a competitor of Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo. Actually it is a nice car but too heavy for Tsukuba.
I also tried the Nissan OPTION Stream Z '04 but nothing better than net 57 sec.

@lfm58 Thanks for the tip. I was ready to give up but I'll have to try again now.

While taking breaks from the Carbon R I did it in the 558PP Mine's Skyline and the S2000 Turbo. The Skyline is nice for 4WD and the S2000, as you say, is superb.

There is one car that nobody has got to gold this time round. A car so evil that we dare not speak its name.

The Red Devil

Yeah, just two laps. :D

Ran the ZZII for two beers, remembered about the Carbon R, swapped cars, ran it. Went back to the ZZII and set a new personal best for this event.

Just kept the car straight, and I short shifted a little, sometimes. I dunno… been driving a bit of PS4 Dirt Rally lately. Maybe it's helping… and beers.

It's those special beers I reckon. I know you're faster than me so I'm not surprised you got the gold but to do it in two laps in a car that is a real pig to drive is impressive. I'm going back to the roadster QM. It's less stressful and much more enjoyable car.

Are you not tempted by the Daytona at the ring? You seem to be on a roll.

The bit about Ed Night not doing is disheartening. But I've tried a few times now, and yeah, to watch my 8:25 BMW lap pull ahead everywhere… I don't see this happening.

The question now is, how many tries will I do.

My video in the old thread shows a 8:29,7xx lap with the Shelby, i guess that's gold. ;)

Alrighty then. Just finished cleaning up the pots in my pedals. It got bad with the brake staying on, but now they're all good. :D

Maybe I'll try for a 7:11 at the Nürb 24 TT first. The TS030 is so fun to drive and that'll make driving the Cobra easier.
