your going quite fast down the suzuka straight...youre timing the braking just right to get into the first corner...

and then bang...you end up in the grass lol...

how do you stop this?...

You don't, not until GT5 and private rooms. Or race with GTP racers, at set times. You are still not going to get rid of all bumping. Still it's better than just jumping online at anytime.

^^^First corner of Fuji is quite possibly the worst for this! I don't know how to stop this but what I try to do is to stay as far off the racing line as possible and just work my way past as many oponents as I can after the first corner demolition derby. I hope that damage in GT5 will stop this frustrating problem.:banghead:

There's nothing more satisfying than sticking to your principles and handing a cheater's arse back to them on a silver platter.

As per Famine in this thread

You gotta love the Indigo Mod for this post of his.

If it happens in real life it will happen online. It's just a fact of life, even the best formula one drivers get punted. It is also because you have a lot of unexperienced drivers, agressive drivers and most of all stupid punters that do it on purpose.

I find in the expert online races punters only account for maybe 5% of the racers.

You go to beginner or intermediate, its well over 50% that race dirty.

Stick to the expert races and you should have very few problems. And if you lose, its not like you need the prize money, its so easy to come by in GT5P.

About people ramming you in before t1... well i guess thats usually because people misjudge the braking zones. In the past; if i saw the car infront brake late, regardless of what car i was in i would have followed suit - causing me to either hit the other driver or lose control and go off myself, usually the latter. Now i am a little more careful, if there is a car close infront, i will brake earlier than my usual zone. This often means the car infront steams ahead through the corner. But if its suzuka, it gives me room to take turns 2-6 with my usual flamboyance without worrying about shunting the car infront.

In short, there is no way to stop it. But avoid doing it to other people and maybe some guys will return the favour. Set and example and drive cleanly.

Isn't it why they have Auto-brake in the first place?

For People who dont know when to break or are too lazy to break, or just dont know that there is a break pedal/button.

But of course, those who really need it are too proud to use that function...
it's like having those tiny wheels in the back of your bicycle, you dont want to be seen with it because of the shame it would bring you...

Well said! Like I posted earlier, for the first lap/corner I try to stay clear of the racing line and then run everybody down when the opertunity presents itself, safely.

Well if you know your quite fast in gt5p, u will just stay out of the way on the first corners, and find that u will get comfortably through while others get bashed all over.
If by some miracle everyone get through in one peace, u should have the confidence and pace to pass them.

Expert races are the best, as they are cleaner, and the laps are longer, giving you a fair chance to catch up.:)

If I'm not in a race with all tagged or otherwise trustworthy drivers I will nowadays normally move over to the side at the start to let the others duke it out in the first corner for themselves.

I guess you are only talking about the poeple who do this "on purpose", correct?
I usually send them a short nice message...kind of "hello, please drive fair! thank you".
It really helped in most cases! I often got back an answer like: "Sorry..." and in he next race when I met them they really drove more fair!
So we (the gentlemen drivers) have just to be persistent...I beleave in the good of all online drivers and so hope to prozelytize nearly all of them :-)

C U on the track

People want to win, sadly at all costs. Hence all those damn Clios!

I want to lose, lose again and again, again again. But learn from it, so I can come back stronger and stronger, then win.

GT for me is about the experience of improvement, not to win at all costs.

I hope they sort out all the idiots who cut the chicane on fuji f with no penalty given- drives me mental!!!

Or do what I do, remove the disc and move on with your life.

Amen on that one. I just removed the disc and went on enjoying life.

The way I see it, this all doesn't need to be my problem at all. PD didn't put in proper automated regulation, and didn't even allow for the racing community to police itself. As far as I'm concerned--it doesn't seem to break any rules--so punting is how gt5p is supposed to be played. I don't need that in a game.

I really DGAF what PD puts in the game anymore,
reverse lights, weather, motorcycles, damage etc... BAH.

JUST GIVE ME SOME GOOD OFFLINE CONTENT!

👍 +1

I personally will get more out of the offline content than the online content and the extra little features. Add all of these unnecessary features PD if you wish, but we want a more in-depth single player experience than we got from GT4, and we expect you to deliver.

GT has always had a solid career mode. We don't want this to change, its the single biggest critiscism of GTPSP and also the reason why i opted not to buy it.

A solid online mode will be excellent, but cutting back on the traditional features of the game will only make the game worse. Kaz has mentioned an easier/shorter single player mode a few times, please for the love of god don't do it, i like my single player mode.

offline gaming was important up to the playstation 2 era.

i think decent online playability is a must in this generation of console gaming, especially on the fifth gran turismo. if you consider the online playing of games like pgr and forza, its implemented quite good.

this is the main game for ps3 in my, and alot of people's opinions. and online has to be done well in it. i know gran turismo 5 will have an excellent career mode, all gran turismo's had good career modes, this will only get better.

online is something new for gran turismo. and generally it adds to the game because it allows to go up against a different set of oponents. my friends dont really play gran turismo (they play like need for speed and stuff), maybe just 1 or 2 of them, and when we race, normally i tend to win.

and you can say what you want about gran turismo psp. the fact is, i can play gran turismo, with almost gt4 level graphics, with all the wide selection of tracks and cars, anywhere i want on my psp. work, college (under the table lol) or at home. and you dont want to be stuck there for hours looking down on a small screen in a big career mode, people get neck pains. and you really think psp is the ideal console to do 24 hour endurance races?...i think its quite impressive what polyphony have done with gran turismo psp because they are still developing gran turismo 5, and we all know how big that job is...i think youve been spoilt, this is a handheld console, look at the games on the iphone and ds, and look at gran turismo psp.

Yes! I think if your an expert on GT then the Need For Speed games are very easy. Then you can beat your friends all the time because your playing a much more realistic game that requires much more skill to Complete. Haha

what?...i didnt say i find need for speed hard.

if you read my post again, you will see my point was that not many of my friends play gran turismo, and because of that i would want to play gran turismo online with other people.

and i dont play need for speed, so i cant say if its hard or easy...but arcade games like pgr4?...yeah they are easy...

and i dont claim to be an expert on any game. the fact is there are always people better than you, no matter what you do. so i enjoy my self, sometimes i win, sometimes i loose...i enjoy it...
