But, i think acording to the rules SRT quoted and from my personal perspective as well, that Blue also had full right to be there because he was at least 3/4 of cars lenght along your car... AND he had inside line - it was a situation were i would eather let him pass or (if i know him enough) i would go "side by side" trough corner, keeping my self on the outside line and expecting him to stay on inside even on exit... That is what i see all the time i real life racing
...Is this a bad time to point out how much i would enjoy if we used "light damage"
Back on topic - SO WHAT IS THE RULE? Are we allowed to make overtaking atempt only if "drivers list on screen" shows that we really got ahead before breaking zone, or are we to drive acording to rules SRT quoted?
Either way is ok, but we really need TOTAL conzensus on that, because of that heavy damage especialy.
Well, for me i think the car ahead has the right of way to choose his line.
This does not mean i am right, i am only saying that on corners like copse where its a tough corner anyway, it almost impossible to go around together at racing speed.
In my eyes it is black and white, if the car is listed as ahead then that car can take the line he wants.
Its really hard to judge 3/4 of a car length when concentrating on the turn in point, on a very fast and triki corner especially copse and on a damp/wet track.
You really have no time to look alongside and judge 1/3rd of a cars length.
If i were Gueven i would assume that Blue would back off, as he was always going to run into Gueven if he didnt slow down, as there is no way he could take the line he was on at the same speed as Gueven on a wet line as well.
The contact was inevitabe and knocked Gueven off the track, luckily there is a wide run off there.
Ultimately its the driver behind to ensure there is no contact.
Gueven was ahead and held his normal racing line, in my view that was fine.
Blue in my view should have backed off.
This was a practice race, and i am sure both drivers would probably not have been as keen to hold the line had it been the real race, as on lap 1 you can only loose lots.
So in my opinion, the rule is the driver ahead has the right to take the racing line.
If you look at page 1 index 3
Overtaking
It will be the responsibility of the overtaking driver to ensure there is no contact between cars at any time.
If a driver forces another car off the track by attempting an overtake and then leaves no room for the car being overtaken to continue will be penalised.
If a driver being overtaken clearly moves to block and causes contact there will be heavy penalty points.
drivers must ensure that they do all they can to avoid contact.
The driver ahead should always have the line they decide to take into a corner.
