Surely, you guys, PD isn't dumb enough to allow cars AND bikes on the same track. I, for one, would LOVE to see bikes put into the game since in real life, i do ride them. To me, this game at the point would erase the existence of Burnout Paradise from my head, and i can live happily ever after lol

Lol. Bikes are a bad idea. Besides, there's too many things that need to be fixed with GT5 already.

Woud be kinda cool, but I'd rather them make Tourist Trophy 2 than add bikes to GT5.

Yep I love that game. Nothing funner than running around the burg in a race ducati or R1. I would love to see a TT2. That would be the cats ass.

**** bikes i like my vehicle to wrap around me plus bikes will take PD forever anyway new physics and models

Wow people are very tolerant here. As a biker myself i am shocked how awfully some people respond to these machines here. It are people like that who make the roads criminally insane for us 2 wheelers. Get over it you are stuck in traffic dont block lanes let us pass after all we get wet in the rain we dont run around with buckets of water and empty them in your cars. After all beein fast in a car is a thrill but beeing fast on a Bike there are no words to describe.

Agree.Get rid of the LAME karts and put in the bikes.

And an other thing is, you do not really steer a bike like you do in a car, so no countersteering. Infact u push the lever away from you to lean in the direction you wanna go, that makes the front wheel to point the opposit direction you wanna go, because the front wheel gives the impulse but it is the rear one steering you through the corner.
Meanspush your left arm away from your body and ou turn left...at normal driving speeds) try to turn front wheel to the left to go left and you make a Mick Doohan stunt.
There is also a fully reproduced motorcycle like playseat but it is insanely expensive, plus i cant think of a way (non tirering way) how you would be able to lean the bike in a direction, cause You would have to set it straight again without the physics doing it for you.

I'm a RL biker too...

But I don't think bikes have a place in GT.

Bikes accelerate faster than almost every car; and they can take corners faster in the right hands. But compared to cars, bikes have terrible braking ability.

Which means that averaged out over a racing lap, bikes aren't any faster than cars... And that means you can't mix cars and bikes in the same race, because the cars have an obvious advantage when it comes to collisions...

So you'd have to have bike-only races... For which there are other games.

Now racing trucks on the other hand, might just have a niche in GT.

I hope that they add some more up to date cars to the game before they add something as silly and uninteresting as bikes.

Have you ever rode a bike? Even the most "silly and uninteresting" 600cc can accelerate to 200 km/h much faster than "exciting" Porsches, M3s etc.

I should not even mention 1000cc bikes which outperform 500-600 hp cars easily.

The moment I started riding bikes I really got bored of cars. And believe me I like cars a lot.

That is the thing. Start fast so they wont be able to run you over in first corner. I think it would be fun to have em both. Why say no to something they might offer you?? If it aint your beer do not use em. If people manage to race clean against cars why not against motorcycles if it isnt out of pure hatred.
I say they shall throw in what they find, from lawnmoewers to combine harvesters races

I think it's a question of the Development Team's priorities.

There are plenty of other existing areas of the Game that could do with improving, I'm not sure the user base would appreciate a diversion into motorbikes.

Also, whilst *MOST* cars are slower than bikes on acceleration, those cars that are *NOT* slower are all available in GT5. So I don't see any bike out-accelerating the FGT, X1 or any other well-tuned 800bhp+ car to the first corner.

And specifically, whilst the bike is going to be quicker off the line, heading towards that first corner, it will also have to start braking much, much earlier than even an average GT5 car. So I wouldn't be *THAT* confident on bikes making it through the first corner unscathed.

Breacking is pretty wicked at the moment, i feel like every car is stopping pretty similar down from the same initial speed. I mean the distance needed to brake.
On the other hand a bike needs much less space on the track so if u wanna get past it clean it would be doable. A race against opponents that have to be overtaken mever is te trial

Ummm, have highlighted the relevant bit^.

Don't see the AI managing it well in cars.

And as for online play...

Got a feeling it might be a *LOT* of coding work on PD's part, for not a lot of useful value.

I'd have have bikes in GT in exchange for all the sub 100hp rubbish that's in there or fewer Nissans. Ok, some of the cars are historically 'important' but if you are being serious how often do you take a Beetle out or feel the urge to buy one of japanese pope-mobile style things in the UCD?

If you compare a MotoGP and a VW Polo GTi the bike will corner faster but a CBR600RR compared with a F1 car?

It's pretty generalized this statement is it not...

I'm a bike rider myself but god I hope GT5 will never have bike I would stop to play the game immediatly. They should get the physic right, all car in premium had more racetrack before adding any bike. Beside bike and car dont race together and never will.

I would rather have Truck, buggy like in RoC or that KTM car than bikes.

Oh, *HEAVILY* generalised I'd say. :)

A big factor in the Cars v. Bikes performance debate is how much more dependent on driver ability a bike is than a car. It is mentioned at the end of that Ferrari v. Ducati video that was linked to above.

Technology is making it easier to drive cars faster; but it is difficult to see where technology can be applied to motorbikes to make them easier to drive faster.

When you see a published 0-62mph time published for a car, you can take it as read that pretty much anyone can sit in that car (with TCS and launch-control if necessary) and achieve that figure or close enough to it.

Launching a motorbike to its published max. acceleration figure requires a *LOT* more, uh, dedication...

Um, that's called countersteering.
And you push the bar the direction you want to go, and weight the peg
opposite of that.

I hope they dont bring bikes in gt5, because they havent yet focused 100% on all cars, thats why we dont have all cars premium and so limited customisation. Please PD focus on all cars premium first.

The 100 hp cars are fun when you tune them, i like many cars because it gets a nice variation in online races.

Hmm, I am really not too keen to see bikes in GT5. Although I like bikes and respect their performance, I think that bikes and cars do not mix well on the track.

I know this from the Nordschleife irl. It can be very frustrating being stuck behind a bike. You brake later and corner quicker, but on the straight the bike pulls away. In the corner you can close the gap but its not enough to pass.

And this can continue for quite a while until either a long straight comes or a bit with a lot of corners.

Ooh, I know:

What about caravans?

At least a seasonal event with them; or a single make series like the Ferarri GP cars.

*THEN* move onto articulated lorries.

Seems like a natural progression. 💡

So if TT2 gets announced, will it be okay to create threads in its forum requesting cars be added?

I personally don't like it when the game diversifies, even when they added rallying I thought it lessened the rest of the game as every second of development time spent doing that was a second not spent on GT-mode and GT5's GT-mode needs all the attention it can get.

While I would prefer TT2 on its own (rather than bikes add-on in GT5), why do you all guys are bothered so much about bikes presence???

Does the Citroen 2CV have any relation to the 458 Italia??? You can still race against each other in GT5 you know... So why would it bother you if you get the Ducati 1198 against the Italia instead of the 2CV that you can have now.

I do appreciate what most people say about bikes being different but underpowered cars like 30hp do not have any place in GT5 either... They are just there for reference. Bikes would offer at least more interesting duels.

There's currently no human modelling present or required in GT5.

Even if a Veyron at full speed whacks into a (relatively) static 2CV, the only requirement is to try and represent damage to the vehicle - and I believe PD are still refining that... :sly:

But what would happen when a bike crashes? Does the rider model remain fixed to the bike model? Or would PD have to implement rag-doll physics?

In an ideal world, it'd be nice to have every conceivable kind of road vehicle - from invalid carriages to land-speed record setters - in the Game...

But it's got to be a question of development priorities. Hasn't it?

Totally agree with that.
