Stupid things you saw the computer do

Once when I was racing in arcade mode on professional difficulty and I saw one car pit on the 10th lap (of a 10 lap race). So he actually crossed the finish line on pit road and lost some positions.

Ok so I was doing a professional arcade race at deepforest, and I was in my R390, i had a real crappy first lap so I was in last, and the pack was all nice and close together. On the finish line straightaway I was moving up the field (drafting) and the gillet vertigo, who was in last, either missed its braking point or just being the stupid comp didnt wanna brake, so that dumb Gillet slamed into the back of the Camaro Racecar and it slamed into the back of the other car, etc. All 5 comp car went into the wall outside the first turn

At Cote d'Azur I saw what I think was an LM FTO (was a while ago) miss the pit entrance because of a spin. Its nose was jammed into the fence just past the pit entrance, where it was stuck!

It had most of the track blocked - I let it go for a couple of laps, then turned around (I was in an F1) and nudged it back to the pit entrance.

I've been in a very close (pretty much a dead heat) race with another car, and it ducked for the pits on the very last lap!

I've had the exact same thing happen to me except it was on Grand Valley II. I was in my Esperante and it was on the very first lap. We were heading into the first tight corning(you know the one I mean, the one where you gotta REALLY SLOW down to make the left hand turn) and I was in fifth. Anyways the car that was in last (ZZII) hit me REALLY, REALLY hard in the back of my car sending me into the back of the two cars in front of me sending them into the other two cars in front of them. Anyways we all ended up in the wall right there at the turn. I don't think my car has ever been the same after that incident.

How about the last left coming onto the start/finish strait at Leguna Seca where the computer always overshoots the turn and ends up first in the sand, then backwards on the track. From there it will punch it and hang a hard right ... right into the retaining wall between the track and the pit. Crazy stuff. And it will do it probably 7 out of 10 laps. I thought the computer was supposed to learn how to race better the more laps it did?

I've seen cars get stuck entering pit row quite a few times. Usually I'll leave them there until my last lap, where I give them a little nudge and send them on their way.

There have been a few times that I was just seconds behind first place, and it pitted on the last lap. Usually I don't concider it a win and do the race over. But there have been a couple times that I just take whatever I can get (:

One time at smokey mountain vs the lancer evo VII he got his nose stuck at the inside of the corner, just kept accelarating and couldn't move untill I give him a nudge. Looked really dumb

When you're on Monaco just coming out of the tunnel if you get behind someone and hit them really hard into the barrier just before the 1st gear chicane thing the car infront of you hits the barrier and just stays there for the whole race !!! jw

well earlier in the 80's sports car classic on seattle reverse coming into the first chicane on the last lap in 2nd the 3rd place car decided to shunt me into the wall. I eventually got back on track 25 seconds behind the leader. I managed to get back to 3rd place by the end of the race

At the first corner at seattle 2 a car slamed into the first corner and did not move for 1 lap.

Me? I've acidently driven into the pit lane on my last lap while in first (twice!)

l was once racing on the seattle circuit, when the cobra crashed on the first cicanes and got stuck and didn't move for 2 laps, untill another computer racer hit the cobra out of the corner so it could race, and got itself stuck

the same thing happened again this morning and i managed to get back to 3rd again
the comp car shunted me nose first into the barrier then as i pulled out anothe car smashed me back into the barrier

Hehe, the excact same thing happened to me (same car, same track!) ...I helped him loose at my final lap though, and boy did he use the "gt-catch-up"! He gained nearly 20secs on that final lap! (didn't mather though, since I allready was 3 laps ahead of him)

I saw 3 co. cars crash, get stuck, spinout, pit and get jammed, and drive 60 mph down the test track all in the same race. they were high performance racing cars, viper, nsx ECT.

One of the most spectacular spinouts i have seen the Ai do was with the Nissan R390 racer on that long left hander just before the corkscrew on laguna seca. The tires were obviously worn out but the car still took the corner at full throttle. It got bout 3/4 way through the corner where all 4 tires started smoking bigtime, now sideways it was of in the gravel kicking up the dust. I was lapping in the F1 at the time, and gaining fast on the car, doing 300k's (give or take) at the time and swerving left to get past, only to see the Nissan with some regained control aim itself at the opposite wall and while still hitting 200k's and spinning went from one side to the other slamming into the wall and coming to rest.

I was doing this GT All-Star Series PRO level with my 787B and the second car is like 15 seconds behind me... when the race went 2 laps to finish line, I went out of control because of my flaming tires and went straight to the sand... Lucky for me, the "AI" is not that intelligent after all. WHY???

The leading car made a Pit-stop just meters before the finish line and gave me the chance to win 1st.

Should that car went straight to finish line, I would've ended 2nd. 😈 😈

I was doing Laguna Seca in first place in an F1 car and needed to pit for tires on lap 8 of 10. The second place car (GT40) was just ahead of me, not quite lapped yet and I didn't wan't to do 2 laps on red tires. I was doing about 120-130 when I entered the pit lane and the AI took over driving.

Big mistake.

The AI did not brake enough going into the turn in pit lane and hit the tire barricade on the right side. Just sat there a prisoner in my car for one minute and 45 seconds while the AI tried to get loose by accellorating. Finally it tried going into reverse, and nothing happened. It only broke free after being hit by a computer car enterring the pits. I just barely managed to win the race by knocking the AI GT40 into the sand on the last turn.

I can now say I've run the enduro roadster race three full times nowand each time, the 2nd and 3rd place miatas would pit on the 39th lap! not that they had a chance of getting me anyways, they were waay behind a lapped 2nd gen. body style mx5, but still, seemed pretty dumb to me.

oh yeah, can't forget stupid pitting. like when you are either leaving or going into the pits and another car runs into you, (or it runs you into another car) LOL but it's still the greatest driving sim ever

I remember racing one of the 10 lap races at Laguna and having trouble catching a Skyline with only a few laps to go. He crashes at the final turn and just stays on the gas pointed at the wall. he goes from 10 seconds ahead of me to a lap down still there. What the hell is that about?

On the 25th lap of the f1 champuionship on Laguna Seca a 001 tried to get to the pits but hit the pit wall sticky out bit before the pits start kinda like the attachment I attached. If I could.
