I have challenged my friend to drag me. The rules are your car can't exceed $100,000. Car + Modification. What would be the best way about doing this? Im thinking Mitsubishi 300gt.

I would say get a RUF RGT, for 130,000. Then fully mod it, and it's less than 100,000. It will have over 1,000 hp, and you should be able to smoke him, with the gith transmission. Drops athe autosetter all the way down for most acceleration.

Nate, what are you talking about?

RUF RGT: Costs over $100,000. Plus the modifications = $200,000 +.

ACremona, is looking for a car that can be souped with $100,000 spent in total( Car + mods).

My pick would be a Skyline GTR V-Spec II.

you know..i feel....stupid...as hell these dayz...

sorry ACremona22. My bad. I need to pay more atention.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

To totally modify a car costs roughly 250,000cr, depending on the car (R34 and Ruf RGT as examples cost 320,000cr). So you need to pick out which mods are vital - stage 3 turbo as a highest mod (stage 4s are 85kcr, so you need to find a car with stage 3 as the highest available) and T8 tyres, I'd suggest - and take this off the 100kcr limit.

I'd be inclined towards the Supra SZ-R or the RX-7 RS, something exceptionally cheap, like the S15 Silvia SpecR, a Subaru or a Camaro, or something lightweight like the TVR Griffith (starts off at 311hp per tonne, or 3.212 kg per hp) possibly a Trueno, but that might be pushing it a bit.

All I can remember a while back I used a s2000 and he used the 3000gt. The 3000gt has amazing hp increase with a turbo so im leaning towards it.

Alrite. I used the tvr and got a 12.2 i think. Just put some engine mods and tires. Didnt find exact price roughly 100,000 or under. See what times u can come up with this 100,000 cap!

It costs over 50 grand to buy, and you can't get more than 260hp out of it.

Pretty much what Famine said.
The Mitsu 3000 is not gonna do you much good with only 100,000 to spend.
I would humbly submit the EVO 6, or EVO 7 For your approval.
If you choose the right one you'll have over 70KCr to spend on mods. AND the EVO 6 RS is the lightest of the EVOs and considerably lighter than the 3000GT.
Not to mention the EVO is VERY fast in a Straight line, due to its very short stiock gearing.
I've run in the 11's or 12's way back with under 100,000cr. invested.

Im sure i could spend a ton of money on a car without mods that runs a good time but thats no fun. Im gonna try the supra. Can you explain what are the most important mods please. Turbo and tires?

Yep - power and grip.

Don't underestimate the usefulness of a triple plate clutch (about 4,700cr) and a Racing Flywheel (about 1,000cr) in a 400m sprint either.

Evo6 RS is a sterling suggestion - although I'd be more inclined toward the marginally cheaper Evo7 RS.

Get the Griffith....

i would take a vipe for 76,000 and get a flywheel, driveshaft, and a full tranny. Set the gears kinda low, but not as low as posible, and floor it at the starting line.

I got a 10.xxx in my Toyota gt one prize car with only about 1,200 in upgrades. over the limit i know, but sitll notable. Heh.

one of my fastest cars off the line (B class) is probably my subaru WRX, with a few engine mods and tires, it flies, at a low cost.

Famine doesn't do 400m races. However, 11.2 sounds like a very good time. Well done.

Tryed the WRX. Got high 11.2xx. Whats the best launching method? What i have been doing is launching from 2nd and hitting the gas right before go.

Take One(1) Subaru Impreza (preferably a 22B version). Put on super soft slicks, do a (full) racing tranny, tri-plate clutch, driveshaft, flywheel, and (if within budget) stage 3 turbo. A computer is also cheap and gives decent power. Get oil changed. Now, go to the track. You should be able to put it to the redline in 2nd gear and have acceptable wheelspin.
I'm not quite sure if this is within the 100-grand budget, though.

ACremona22 - one of the best launching methods for an all wheel drive vehicle is to keep the revs up in 2nd gear. If the engine starts to bog down, either rev it higher, or try first gear. If possible, put the power distribution towards the back wheels, as they shouldn't spin as much because of weight transfer.

Other decent cars are the Corvette (both GS and Z06), Camaro, and most all wheel drive cars (lancer, etc.)

Has anyone ever noticed a performance difference between the dual plate clutch and triple plate? 'Cus in the descriptions it says the dual plate is more suitable for high HP/TQ motors while the triple plate is ideal for low displacement naturally aspirated motors.
