Wow awesome! I would kill for car sounds like that. You can hear the entire frame of the car squeaking and the sound of the gears shifting. Very nice!

thanks @ teddybear, didnt know how to do that.. but yea its amazing! when i see that footage i think i'm in that car driving its so crazy! hopefully pd will implement these sounds too. PD is spending alot of time in Details of the cars, so why should they improve the sound from this.. its not that hard i gues??

These are my priority cars, to have their sounds changed:

1. Mclaren MP4-12C - It's a Twin-Turbo V8, not a vacuum cleaner:dunce:
2. Enzo Ferrari - Sounds like it's missing 4 of it's cylinders, literally
3. Lambo Murci - PD, it doesn't have the same engine as a Gallardo:rolleyes:
4. Ferrari 330 P4 - Same as the Enzo, sounds like a V8
5. Audi R10 - A diesel shouldn't share the sound files from a Minolta, which themselves are incorrect:ouch:
6. The Ferrari F1's - Completely messed up gearing, and too slow gearshifts. The F2007 in Prologue was near-perfect in this aspect:(
7. RedBull X2010 - It sounds like a V8 at 18,000 rpm, in reality it should sound closer to this:

8. Formula Gran Turismo - The specifications state it's a V12 spinning at 18,500 rpm. It should sound closer to this than a 4-pot:irked:

iRacing's sounds, both incar & trackside knock 7 bells of crap out of GT5's. Also, I love the way the cars in iRacing skip & dance over the laser scanned bumpy track surfaces, PD are so half hearted in so much as they only bother to add bumps to some tracks, many others are dead flat like Monaco.

:grumpy:👎

The video in the first post is awesome, sounds great, reminds me of a trackday I did in 2 real race cars a while back. When I was driving them, the sounds reminded me of the NFS Shift Demo I'd played & were nothing like GT's (not played iRacing myself due to a lack of funds). The real world physics I felt were more like GT5 Prologue's than GT5's imo, but with more grip.

👍

most of the american muscle cars sound like ass. one of the exceptions is the premium 69 camaro z28 . it sounds sweet with the full race exhaust.

I disagree, the 787B is easily one of the best sounding cars in the game.

Maybe if the sound quality wasn't completely mangled by PD. The looping above 8,000rpm is the worse and most noticeable in the entire game. It also sounds like its constantly missing. Rotaries are smooth as hell...the 4 rotor in GT5 sounds as rough as a 3 cylinder diesel.

Yes it is but that doesnt mean it sounds like it should... it only means that the sound in GT5 is a big fail all around. I can even play GT5 when my wife is vacuum cleaning because I can never tell wich is wich...

Does everyone here have horrid sound systems or what? I run on 5.1 surround sound and it's LCPCM at 48kHz, I'll tell you that the muscle cars sound quite fine, I've got quite a few of them and they sound very good, only problem is there is no way to decrease all the other sound effect(specifically transmission whine) we would have less issues with sounds heard. My '70 Charger sounds awesome and it's a standard car to boot, and it looks mighty nifty in it's Panther Pink clear coat.

i have a 5.1 too.. but i cant hear the rest of the things in the car when shifting/ going over bumps @ nurburgring.. i mean come on, this is suposed to be the greatest & most realistic driving simulator ever.. so why has the sound to be so poor. kaz pays special attention @ the details. but give absolutly no **** to the carsounds.

I was hoping that PD would add the ability to change the volume of the in race sounds separately, such as transmission sounds, wind noise, road noise, tire sounds, player car sounds and opponent car sounds. That would help you hear your car much better and make driving without the HUD even easier, some cars the engine is too quiet making it hard to tell where you are in revs.

just wanted to point this out.. that the sound in gt5 in these cars are OK but still nowhere near the real thing..

hopefully PD takes notes!

Just wanted to point this out.... That sound in you video is of a car that doesn't appear in GT5

God at least have a video of a car that is in GT5 before you try and make a point?

that would help you hear your car much better and make driving without the HUD even easier, some cars the engine is too quiet making it hard to tell where you are in revs.

Choose the " Narrow " interior view rather than standard... It brings you closer to the front of the car and you will hear the engine more than the standard position... Try it out, see if it helps :D

Shame on all you people posting vids of car's that aren't even in GT5, get some perspective and a clue at the same time.

Sounds pretty much identical to my copy of GT5 with Surround Sound... Don't know what game you guys are playing or with what sound equipment..

Maybe stop posting stupid porsche videos ? Porsche isn't in the game, get over it and move on.

Hahahaha I have said those exact words for most of those cars :p

I run KRK 6 inch studio monitors in my room and can't get enough of the US muscle cars, tuned with certain parts.
GT350 Mustang, Mach 1 Mustang, Z28 Camaro all sound insanely savage at high volume. I hardly ever complete a lap, just burnouts. Neighbours love it!

This is super GT interior sound thread... Not a thread about what super cars you want the sound change on..

There is plenty of threads on that already.

I'm curious to know what all the people who posted those stupid irrelevant porsche video's have to say about my actual GT300 videos..

The super gt engine tones are pretty good but the upshifts, downshifts and transmission are all wrong. The thing that winds me up on GT5 the most and nearly all racing games is the lack of over run as a car decelerates its all ways to clean.
sorry its not super gt or inside but it gets the point across, now listen to the noise that lambo makes after 16 seconds when decelerating

this also gives you an idea of what I mean!

I wish the sounds were "better" too. And yes i heard it at 16 seconds.

That car, that exhaust system, those cams, that transmission, that air intake all aren't in GT5, individual cars and exhaust and transmission setups, sequential etc all change a car's noise.

Look at the vids i posted of cars that actually are in GT5 and say they are "wrong" . ?

No, the sounds are always too clean, predictable and weak sounding, and GT's are still more so compared to the competition, maybe GT's are more "accurate" in some ways but they are no way there yet.

This will always be the case until all sounds are "modeled" (simulated/created on the fly) with all aspects and systems of a car contributing to the simulation. Obviously this is a loooooooong off way away if ever.

Sound is probably even more complicated to do properly than the physics.
