Introduction

Welcome to the very first Super GT500 World Championship season! Since this is a start up series we're in need of drivers. Experts and novices are welcomed to join up. Me and my friends have rooms open everyday around 7 EST. So if you want to come chat, chill or race send me a friend request. Below are the rules and regulations, point scoring system, race settings, race schedule and the allowable cars.

Rules and Regulations

  • Each car listed in the allowable list below is to be stock with the exception of the Lexus SC430. One person will be chosen to spectate each car to see if that specific car conforms to the set regulations of that car.
  • All drivers must enter the course before qualifying to have their cars scrutinized.
  • All cars will race with racing hard.
  • No cutting corners! All four wheels off the track is corner cutting.
  • Disconnects will be treated as a DNF. In the event of a mass disconnect. (4 at least), the race will be stopped and restarted from the same time from where it was stopped. The drivers that were disconnected will start from the back of the grid.
  • If a driver misses 2 race meetings, without informing me via PSN message or this thread. That driver will be removed from the roster and their position will be given to someone else.
  • Each race will be conducted with a rolling start with extra time allocated for this purpose. The pole sitter will lead this pace lap at a speed of around 60 miles per hour. Towards the end of the lap, the field will form up into a 2x2 grid, by overall qualifying order. The pole sitter is in control of the point where the race starts. They may start the race by going full throttle between pit entrance and the start/finish line. Once the leader starts, all drivers may race freely.
  • Only the base model cars can be used. Once a driver signs up, the car that you choose will be the car you compete the whole season with.
  • Each driver must pick their own number. Number one is vacated for the champion.
The honorary stewards will be NZ, CavZee and myself.

Point scoring system

Points will be based off the system used in the Formula 1 World Championship:

1st : 25 points
2nd : 18 points
3rd : 15 points
4th : 12 points
5th : 10 points
6th : 8 points
7th : 6 points
8th : 4 points
9th : 2 points
10th : 1 point

*Note, that the 30 minute races will be worth double points. There will be a total of 100 points available per race meeting.

Race settings
  • Grip - Real
  • Draft - Real
  • Fuel and tire consumption - Fast
  • Mechanical damage - Off
  • Visible damage - Off
  • Weather and time change will be active on some tracks if applicable.
  • All assists with exception of ABS are off.
  • Penalties - Light
  • Race delay - 180 seconds
  • Qualifier - Alone, 6 minutes at least.

Allowable GT500 cars

*Note, "stock" doesn't mean that you can't adjust your suspension, brakes, transmission, down force and LSD. It implies that you can't put the turbo or engine upgrades on.

*Note, the best way to get rid of oil change without buying a new car is to do 10 laps of Special Stage Route X.

Race schedule

There will be a total of 12 races in the championship. Three races will be held on Saturday at 9PM EST each week. Each room will be open an hour early for a non-mandatory practice session. Each race will be a timed race. The first two will be held up to 15 minutes, while the last race will be an endurance race that will last 30 minutes. Each race will have a 5 minute intermission and a 5 minute pace lap. The intermission is to allow time to switch the track, switch settings or do something else.

I'm interested, but as @juicybeans916 said. Depends when it starts.

#24/LLOYDZ_ELITE69/HSV-Black/Red wheels.

I would like to get this started ASAP, but I need more people to be interested. When we get a total of 8 people signed up, I will post the full schedule and the days we'll do the races. Thanks for taking interest.

What time did you guys have in mind? I'm Pacific btw

We're planning to start qualifying at 7EST on Saturdays. An hour before that we'll probably open up a room if people want to come practice, but it's not mandatory. The whole race meeting should last about an hour and 15 minutes.

Just noticed a bit of a problem. We're going to do rolling starts and that's fine but if we're doing timed races they're going to conflict a bit. The pace lap is going to eat into a big chunk of our time for the short races. Are we going to add a bit of time to cover for this?

Example would be to have the 15min races set up as 20min races in the room settings.

Also, I would shorten the qualifying periods to 10 minutes or less given the short races.

Um, yeah...I kinda disregarded the lap thing, lol. I would like to keep the race meeting short, but we'll figure it out. For qualifying I elaborated on that already. I want to keep qualifying as short as possible, but also give enough time to let people put in 3 to 4 laps. Again it depends on the track.

The easiest solution for the pace lap issue would just be to add 5min in the room settings. I agree with you about keeping qualifying around 3-4 hot laps and at most tracks 10minutes will be enough for that.

We can talk about it tonight if you get on. :D

I'm interested in this series, though I have meetings with a local anime club that I usually attend on the first Saturday of the month. If the races happen then, I'll try to make it in as soon as I can to participate in them. :)

I'll have to test the cars before I go with a clear choice so for the time being, put me down as...

No problem man! As long as you make most of the meetings that's fine. Also about the testing you mentioned, me, NZ, Cavzee are just clearing up some testing right now, making sure all the cars close. I'll post any findings in the specs section of the first post.

Me, CavZee and NZ have a room open right now if anybody cares to join us. We're doing GT500 races.

Room ID: 1472-4711-0167-3382-9367

Hi would like to join but as I posted in a thread before I can only mainly do weekends. Though I have a couple of weeks off work.
How do I join

My ps name is

I suggest you read the first post to get an understanding of what the series is, if you haven't already. You can use this format to leave your information, so I can add you to the roster.
