If all else fails, add me on PSN and follow my line

or someone that got a better time than me, since I only beat it by .157 seconds

Which one is S-4 again?

S-5 was the hardest for me to get gold

Lotus Elise at Brands Hatch.

It's actually very easy, just make sure you brake as late as you can and use the curbs, keep it smooth and don't slide it or you'll just lose speed. I can only assume you don't know Brands Hatch well?

got s-4... best thing for me was to ignore the ghost and don't be afraid to attack the turns... instantly shaved 2.5 seconds off my time... s-5 isn't easy though... Obsidian, you're right, the fact that it is a new track has a lot to do with it!!!

Thought Brands Hatch was the Aventador

s-5 is making me want to choke a cute little bunny
LOL, Yeah that one was a pain for me. Of course that was the first time I had ever been on that track and I do not drive the Veyron, maybe drove it 10 times between Gt5 FM3 and FM4 combined.

I did learn all the places that I had to be careful since I went off track in everyone of them in that Veyron before completing a clean lap ;) Afterwards I went out there in a Lotus Elise and just zipped around the track like it was nothing so something good came from all that agravation anyway

and im still stuck with bronze on the national B test where you have to race a red GTR around silverstone...

One is, one is the Lotus, mixed them up as I looked at the missions instead of the license. Same still applies though, got to use the curbs and keep it smooth. Only other thing to add with the Aventador is you cant afford to lift off too much or it'll go stupidly sideways.

S-5 with the Veyron is all about taking it slow into the corner then going full throttle and using the power to drag you out. Make sure you maximise the use of the curbs at the chicanes too.

probably not a big deal to alot of people but I finally got my S license  that s-5 was kickin my 🤬 but I just kept grinding it out, hate that 🤬 car but love the track..for now I'll be happy with bronze:lol: :gtpflag:

If you are using the driving line, S-4 and S-5 have REALLY poor lines given to you. There are points on both tracks where you can go through a corner 2 gears higher than the game wants you to, and in turn gain lots of time. S-5 really just takes getting used to driving the bentley, and getting the hang of taking the super tight chicanes. I know for a fact you can cut across the first one right at the start and save yourself a LOT of braking and carry a bunch of speed down into the next complex.

I hate S4 and S5 I can't get gold on them. Why do you have to use that stupid 4wd cars. A RWD car is easier to control when you can drive, it is more tricky though. **** the aventador and veyron, stupid ugly cars.

Just got super S5 on my break.... again the key is not to be afraid and attack those corners!!!!! Wish there was an option to turn off the ghost... Had to jump out and back in again... is both a distraction and obstruction!!!

Took me half an hour to gold the whole S license.

Biggest deal is practice and patience.

Take a lap with the car at about 80% and find out where you can gain time and be fast, get a feel for it.

Then give it 90% and see what time you get. That way you have less of a chance of going off track.

If you still need gold, give it 100% on the third attempt. By then you should know the car and the track, as well as what driving line suits you and the car best.

I found S-2 to be the hardest due to the lack of being able to see anything at all. S-4 and S-5 I found pretty easy actually. Like I said, patience. Both are heavy cars, don't let the high power fool you into thinking they're racecars.

👍

S4 was certainly the least forgiving test in terms of time between gold to bronze... I passed all of the licenses on my first finish, except S4... that one took me a few tries cause gold and bronze are separated by something like 5 seconds, where other tests are probably closer to 15 as far as I remember... S5 definitely took me longer to pass, but that's just cause driving the Bugatti is like impossible lol so I kept going off the track... if you finish the race however, you're pretty much guaranteed to pass it, it's not difficult on time, more difficult on completion...

S4 though... what I found difficult for me was the first turn... it's hard to judge where you're cutting the apex as you can't really see it... my advice, brake early and accelerate into the turn while you're trying to find the apex... the rest is pretty easy actually I thought... just don't go off the track and you'll be ok...

oh yea and also... don't forget to actually launch properly... don't just hold down gas till the test starts... you'll easily lose a second doing that...

Is that true? I've played GT for ages and I've never been able to do a proper start that ended up being faster than mashing the throttle at the start.

Hi there,

Hope these vids helps...3 views of 1.34.405 lap.

This lap was done with a wheel...respect & kudos to those attempting S4 with DS3 controller. Took quite a few re-starts for me to gold this, wheel definitely makes it less frustrating.

Practice, and aim to not make the same error again next lap, and then practice some more.

Try and accelerate as quickly as possible without wheel spin.

If you can mash the throttle while doing that then you're okay.

The reason being is that wheel spin means the tires are no longer pulling you forward but simply spinning, meaning that all of the power is being wasted and turned into smoke.

Mashing the throttle in old GT games was fastest. But with the new tire model I believe things are more accurate, except for when SRF is forced on maybe.

My suggestion for all S tests is simple (except from 1): Take every turn at one gear higher than necessary, and manage the throttle wisely (if you find it hard to take them at the 'recommended' gears, that is).

Saved me lots of trouble, I'd only get out of the track because of my dumb mistakes :)

S1 - Can't really give you any tips on that as I barely got 1:46.7-ish after LOTS of tries. Not sure what I was doing wrong there.

Barely hit the gold here after well over 15 tries... ashaming 1:46,700 :C

S2 - Got it after like 5 tries, with each one failing a bit later than the previous one.

The first turn doesn't require that much braking. Same applies for the second and final turns, but the final one gets narrow, and you might accidentally overshoot it as you are about to get proud of your amazing time when you're practically on the final stretch already. The final turn is easier once you realize that it turns into a straight for a short distance - it makes it easier to brake in the right moment!

That winding section might be kinda tough, especially if you're under pressure of the IMUSTGETGOLD factor :) Take it easy, and if you're having trouble getting through it at 2nd gear, use 3rd all the way there, but still watch out at higher RPMs!

1:26,272 - relatively good by my standards. Cool test as it allows you to practice fast corners.

My god the TZ3 is gorgeous

S3 - VERY easy and fun, actually. The X-Bow's low weight and power makes it fearsome in turns at first, but once you get the hang of its abilities, you'll love its agility (of which you also have to be aware!)

Launch from 2nd at full throttle, as launching from 1st and switching to 2nd takes about 1/4 of a second off your time., and is simply slower to begin with. Anyway - as mentioned, keep using the 3rd gear in all turns, as it's almost impossible to spin out even if you exit the turn at full throttle. It's letting off the gas that gets you - you might lose control if you take the turn without 'throttling' at all.

This test is 0:54,924 of pure fun, be careful of the X-Bow's agility, if you take the turn too slow, its insane grip will make you shoot straight at cones.

S4 - I'm not that good at Brands Hatch, but I think you can use the LP700's weight and 4 wheel drive to your advantage; slightly throw it around tighter corners. Since it's a 4WD and mid-engined, you might be afraid of spinning out. Don't be, the Aventador is very agile and graceful in this test, but remember it likes to understeer as you exit corners at full throttle.

The first turn of Brands Hatch sickens me, I just don't know how not to go off the track there. The second turn is relatively easy to drive through, but as you approach it it's very easy to brake too late and overshoot the corner. The next turn is simple, just be careful and remember that you can use its exit curb to your advantage - there are no cones there. The next one is far faster than it looks, but don't overdo it on the throttle - Aventador likes to understeer. As you near the end of the straight before turn 5 (the one before which you go downhill and uphill for a bit), don't be afraid of speed, it's actually a pretty fast turn. The next one has a strange apex, and you gotta watch out for cones, too. The next turn only looks slow, go for a wide apex (similarly to that LOOOOONG first turn at Apricot Hill) and then dive into the green inside curb. Watch out for your braking before that one too, it's easy to lose control over that beastly Lambie when you're braking, also because you can't quite see the apex because of the peak of the hill this corner is on. The next turn is closer to the previous than it seems. Brake earlier and dive to realize you took it too slow (happens to me every time, not only during this test) ;)

Not the best time, but still managed to gold it with 1:34,209.

S5 - now that is one hell of a challenge. Your throttle management will get tested the hell out of. At first, get used to Veyron's complete inability to turn on Sports Hard tires, I think that only Buckingham Palace understeers more than that thing.

You will absolutely hate Ascari's sharp turns with little room on their exits. But once you gold this challenge, you'lll love its sharp turns with little room on their exits.

Use the 3rd gear for every single slow turn here. No exceptions. Be extremely careful in corners, as even a slight overdose of throttle can make you go unbelievably wide. Once you're on the straight leading to that chicane, congratulations - the difficult part is over! Be careful though - the second-before-the-chicane turn is not as quick as it seems!

The final turn seems easy. Before it, get as close to the left side as possible, being extremely careful not to even scratch the grass, or you'll lose precious time or even fail the test completely because of trying to stabilize the car. Dive into it at 4th gear, with your throttle about halfway in, gradually increasing it as you near the exit, and thus the finishing line.

2:11,767 :D

I failed this challenge twice right before the finish line, how mad I was should get documented.

Remember - 3rd gear is your savior in this challenge!!!

I hope you can understand my complicated explanations, and I hope this helps at least a bit.

Good luck! :) :gtpflag:

Veyron was the only hard one for me, because I don't know the track and the car is a 250mph bus. Beat gold by a few seconds when I finally reached the finish! Others I didn't find hard, the Lamborghini handles really strangely tho, isn't very predictable

That said with that stupid SRF driving aid on none of the cars are very predictable as it messes with the grip in real time.

Couple laps with driving line on and when you learned track, turn it off.
Manual transmission and tc off.
Driving line kinda sucks and tc on doesn't allow you slide nicely over corners :)

Practice makes purrfect, (S5) Ascari with the Veyron is like guiding a torpedo around the inside of an aquarium.

I haven't gotten past Silver on Ascari yet, I was able to gold Stowe (S3) off the bat with the KTM, the devil there is learning to control the KTM's slides in the s-turns.

I did the Stowe Kart event in one of the lower levels, so that helped a lot.

I had to learn (S1) Apricot Hill, and (S2) Willow Springs first to get gold.
Stuck at Silver for (S4) Brands Hatch, just have to learn the track better.

You can also go into single user or test drive mode, and set the same time for the tracks as the license tests for similar lighting and do some laps. Practice launch times too.

Either way it means seat time = moar practice.

...and the forced SRF and no way to adjust Brake Bias for 0 ABS slows me down.
