Should we all turn off our mics before race start?

I didn't know you could do that. That's a good idea. I'll probably open the lobby at 8:30 and start the race around 9:30 est. Maybe you can make it.

I might try to make it if you don't have a full field. It was 8:35 EST when the race ended this week, so it would be cutting it close. :scared:

I'll keep an eye out on this thread to see what cars/restrictions you are running and maybe I can jump in and help fill out whatever class is needing another car.


Oh, and in case you need a tie-breaker vote, put me in for the 1 race.

One race DRC. I want to run LMP class. Maybe run LMP at 630 HP and LM GT at 600 HP.

Your the LMP guy so I'll go with your suggestions regarding those cars.

I'd like to run the LMP class but will run LM GT class if we need to fill some spots.

We can hold the race start a little later if need be.
 
We should let all classes run qualifying, record results, add a lap to the race and do an official rolling start based on those times. I can post the rules if everyone agrees.

I like that idea. We could have the GT class hang back maybe a half a lap like they do in Rolex Grand Am

I'm going to prep for both and run what ever class needs more drivers to try and even the field

The choice is up to personal preference, some people might not be comfortable running the LMP's

As far as lm gt I think the cars that dj had eligible for the season 1 race we did should be good to go. Maybe dj you could paste them. You know how good my CPU skills are

We will post official rules up by mid week, but we are going 630hp for LMP and 600hp for GT. Race soft tires

Anybody else watching american lemans right now? the BMW and Porsche are having a great battle.
 
JT, I was watching the start of the ALMS race and all the classes were lined up together with out a staggered start. I think that might be the way to go all the LMP's lined up first then the gt's and we all start together to avoid confusion. I think getting everyone lined up for the parade lap will be enough excitement.
 
Qualifying:

There is two stage qualifying.

1: Room Lobby / Lounge will be open to qualify and post your fastest time. 30 minutes. This will determine your grid position for the qualifying race.
2: After qualifying laps. There will be a 2-3 Lap Qualifying Race. 15 minutes prior to race.
* Qualifying Race will have a grid start
Racing:

Pace Lap: 1 lap will be added to the race distance for a formation pace lap. Drivers will be called one by one from grid start to get into the order they finished. The first place driver will stop 100m after pit lane and everyone will line up behind in order. DO NOT pass the driver in front of you.

Drivers will line up in a single file. A minimum of 3 car lengths must be between cars.

The Formation Lap speed limit is 100 kph / 60 mph
*Stay in your qualifying order
*Do not hit other cars or exceed the speed limit

Rolling Start: When pole driver turns onto the pit straight the race will go green flag once 100m from start/finish line. ((This point will be clarified before each race.)) No passing is allowed until crossing the start finished line. Drivers will be penalized for false starts and illegal passing.

Pit Lane is closed during the pace lap. Drivers who enter the pits will recieve a penalty.

LM GT class will line up in order after qualifying race at stop at first turn. LMP class will reach turn 4 and stage. We will then begin the pace lap of 60 mph to the start of the race. This will keep a gap between classes as Roadrash suggested.

If during qualifying race a LM GT passes a LMP ignore position and grid up in order in your own respective class.

This is a casual thing so I think we can all pace lap together.

But I'm going to go the way we run the league, let everyone get some warm up in then reset the room 30 mins before race, for 2 reasons. 1. I have to let the LMP's on first then set the regs for GT's and let them on, that's going to take some time. 2. Comfort and avoiding too much confusion

We are trying this for the first time and I'm sure there will be some things to iron out. I just want to keep this as much fun as running the sprint races. My only real concerns as far as rules during the race is the way the LMP's pass the GT's. GT drivers should keep there line through the turns but not impede or try to hold up the LMP drivers. LMP drivers need to have patience passing the GT drivers and not force them off track or cause a wreck.

I want this to be fun and would like to run a couple more like this before we start our new season
 
Speaking of the new season i'm thinking about starting it sometime next month. Is everybody still down for another season of Super Tuner Car?

Yep. Sounds good.

So we will have each driver record their own fastest lap then line up after grid start for pace lap? Wait, the fastest to slowest will be represented in the driver list on screen correctly as drivers should not be exiting track during the qualifying 30 minutes correct?
 
I think that the lower HP cars should enter first. If we let the 630 LMP's in first won't they get kicked when the HP reg. is lowered to 600 HP? I've never done this before but have been kicked when HP changes and I'm too high.

set the max hp and then have the LM cars enter. Once your in you cannot leave. Then change the HP and put the LMP's in.

Yea well do our normal 30 min qualifying. That should put everyone in the correct order
