[As always, if anyone would like to volunteer to take a picture, it will go here :)]
Yet again, many thanks to Denur!

Race Specifics

  • Arcade Mode Time Trial - hotlap
  • Power: 0% (548 HP)
  • Weight: -10% (1125 kg)
  • Tire Type: S2
  • Driving aids and transmission mode are open.
  • Standard OLR cleanliness rules apply: Two wheels must be in contact with the track at all times; rumble strips are part of the track; no contact with walls allowed at any time.
  • Please PM me your final time by Tuesday July 7 by 11:59 pm GMT (world clock).

Series General Rules

  • All six races will be run in Arcade Mode, using a variety of the fastest road cars in the game (including some tuned and concept cars; also, most cars will have stock power and -10% weight), and each will last one week, with a submission deadline of Tuesday.
  • Standard OLR cleanliness rules apply: Two wheels must be in contact with the track at all times; rumble strips are part of the track; no contact with walls allowed at any time.
  • Discussion of times in the race thread during the week will be limited to split times (T1, T2, T3). Final times are not to be discussed and must be submitted to me by PM before the week's deadline.
  • Please save your best lap replay in case I request proof, which is unlikely but possible. Unlike last series, since there were no problems, I will not require photo proof of the winner. However, I reserve the right to request a photo of a time if I am suspicious of it.
  • Each race will award points towards the overall championship standings to all who submit a clean lap/race time, with the winner receiving 10 points, second place 8, third place 6, and fourth on down each separated by 1 point (5, 4, 3, etc.). No points will be awarded to a non-submitting driver. You do not have to announce your participation in the championship beforehand: anyone may participate in a race and be counted into the championship points, even if you do not plan on running all the races; similarly, there is no obligation to participate in every race. The driver with the most points at the end of the six races will win the championship.

I hope you all like oversteer and throttle steer, both of which this car has in abundance. :D Also, be warned that keeping the car pointed straight around the whole track may not be the fastest way around. ;) I encourage you to experiment with different lines and methods of driving, which shouldn't be too hard on the rolling hills of this track. Finally, I hope you all know the track in this direction! There are a lot of blind corners to contend with, but I personally find this way around much more enjoyable than the forward track. Have fun! :)

This combo is a blast! 👍

T1: 24.089
T2: 53.043
T3: 1'08.393

I agree. :D This is my best lap so far, which has a horrendous T1 and hairpin but a terrific rest of the lap, making about 0.5 to gain in total, at a guess. I went a bit faster with a much less bipolar lap, but found out it was dirty by the slightest of margins on the quick left at T1. :grumpy:

23.561 - 51.682 - 1'06.112

Thank you for making me feel like I was a beginner at this game. LOL. After literally hundreds of laps on this track in the last 2 weeks for the GTPLMS, I'm back at square one. I had to actually think about my braking points etc. Haven't really put any time in on Reverse ever. Most of time I was hoping for a flat so I could stop and change the tire. Funny part was trying to figure out my entry point for the chicanes before, I mean after the first, no after the first or last turn after the start, no before or after the start or finish. I have a headache and I'm going to bed now.

Plenty of room for improvement everywhere.

25.692 - 57.259 - 113.822

LOL. :banghead:

I put in some more laps today and notice that there's a load of time to gain in the first 2 sectors (comparing myself only to Raz). :scared:

T1: 24.067
T2: 52.753
T3: 1'07.620

A few more 10ths/100ths left out, I may give another go tomorrow...

23.816
52.234
1'06.965

Fun! Too bad I didn't get to put more time into this combo though... it was a bit of a change going from RS tyres in GTPLMS to S2's! Time submitted

Submitted with posted splits. Too bad I only put in two sessions with this fun combo. :)

Time submitted.
Last night found an even faster splits by using the ---- ------------!!!!
I can't believe I did not try this before. It was way to late to try to do any better so only one run done using this.
Maybe it was just me being slow :dunce: but I was able to bring down my splits and final time!
GL all

I was already impressed by your splits Raz. And now you found a setting/way to improve even more?! 👍

All right, spill it. I need all the help I can get!

I don't know for sure what he means, but I think he's talking about using the sand to his advantage. On the inside of corners, it can slow you down more quickly than braking can, and it can allow the car to rotate a bit. Perhaps he means short-shifting, which is necessary in this car, but the spaces don't line up (---- could mean sand). You can reveal your meaning to us after the deadline - I'm certainly curious, and so are oldmodelt and Denur, apparently.

AUTO Transmission!!!!! All together now oooooooh!!!!!!!:dopey:
But seriously, I was doing the race with manual all this time, but for S____s & giggles I switched to auto.
I was able to pull out much faster out of the corners, no sand used @ all I think rumble strips if any.
Well like i said at least for me it was a bit faster, could have used a few more laps to trim time down but bed was calling!

We'll see when the results come out if i was just slow :D and this is all in my head.

Onto Laguna Seca!

No time for me this week or next I'm afraid, too much SFGTP5 finalisation going on. :)
Good luck to all racers! 👍

Time Submitted. Was just getting the hang of it. Wish I didn't wait until today to try this. :banghead:

Congratulations to raz_10 for the win this week, to InsaneRacer and Denur for nice podium times, and to everyone for coping with a tricky car around a possibly unfamiliar track. 👍 If you're wondering where my time is, I'm 16 hours into an all A-Spec 24 hour race right now and didn't realize until now that I had never written down my lap time. :dunce: If I recall correctly, it was something like a 1'21.254, but I'm not confident enough to submit it. :guilty: Regardless, I'll make my usual video sometime later this week. 👍

I vote that we give you a special dispensation. That's church lingo. It means put your time in after the 24hr race. You're allowed a freebie. Unless there is some prize money to be given out.

Anybody object?

PS. I have enjoyed these. Nice break from GTPLMS. Not that GTPLMS isn't fun. You get my drift.

No objection from me, as long as it is the lap with the splits shown on the leader board. :)

No, I can't do that. I need to follow the same rules as all of you! I missed the deadline for submission and will have done so by several days when I'm finally able to retrieve my lap time. I don't even have unforeseen circumstances to fall back on as an excuse, so I'll just take the 0 points and move on to next week. It's no big deal.

Well, in that case, a big congrats to Raz for a great win. 👍

Cool, thanks guys!
I could not have done it if Smallhorses and specially Austin had not posted :D
I'll try to find my MAX disc and post replay. Unless no one has MAX then only Smallhorses can view?!

Edit.
Just realized Denur is in Pal, so he can't watch...

Ah yes, that is too bad. My Max Drive is just collecting dust. :(

Well, in that case, a big congrats to Raz for a great win. 👍

When was the last time somebody won a race on GTP using AT against humans opp? Maybe never, until now.

Raz_10 rules.

Love to see where my lost 4-5 secs. are. No Hurry though.

There's no need for proof, raz, unless you want to provide it. :) It's in the rules that no proof is necessary from anyone unless I'm suspicious of it, which is not the case here.

I was not trying to prove, just wanted to give my dust collector some use :indiff:
Ha!!!

Here's my lap, which was indeed a 1'21.254. The lap looks horrible through the hairpin, and looks are not deceiving, because it is horrible - I lost about half a second. :dunce: However, I never beat it cleanly. Also, my TV is showing its age in that its speakers are giving out at high volume, so the sound will be somewhat irregular. Still, I hope it's of some use.
