I did some testing on both the supra rz and rx7 rz.

I found that tho the supra was faster in a straight line the handling of the rx7 was far superior. I therefore was able to get a time secs faster around midfield in the rx7 than the supra....

the down side is that if you like to tune cars to the max (i like to leave them stock) then the supra can get heaps more HP.

it depends on what you wanna do to them

They are no doubt fun to drift... better than a RX7... no... but its definitly worth trying out.... Supra is known for being a drift car in japan but still they arent better drifters than rx7 with equal drivers... supra is heavier but still very much a drift car...

oh.. i forgot this isnt in drifting forum... well... um.. drifting is a techique... look it up on google... or other search engine... it can be done in gt3 and real life... just practise...

the Supra is not a traditional drift car. it's just too heavy and doesn't give the driver such good feedback as a silvia or RX7 for example. it's more of a high speed, highway racer.

Don't go 1000+ on the hp and you'll be fine.

Well... Supra can drift... Supra are known for drifting in japan... although there may not be as many supra drifter as to say Rx7 or AE86 but... its a very nice drift car... and yes even though it is heavy... it can still drift... like Toyota Chaser... is one of the best drift car... most people in japan would drift a chaser... even though its a heavy 4 door... it can drift very good... chasers are number two in a list of the 10 best drift cars...

supra is not a drifter.. i repeat supra is not a drifter car
i have never seen any supra drift in any option videos that my friends and i have..
you know why? because its heavy as hell
its a land yacth
but supras are well known as a wangan cruiser in japan
and that is because of their high top end and IRON block
IRON block = 1000++ hp
but then again... IRON = heavy
too much weight on the front is not good at all...
the balance of a supra is no match against an RX7
im not saying that supras cant drift in real life... they can.. its all about settings...
but its not a good platform to choose as a drift car
too slugish...
have you seen one autocrossing? maann.. that thing is having a hard time turning... imagine drifting...

what is more common as a drift car is toyota soarer... not supra
i say that again... soarer... looks like a supra but a bit lighter

but then again.. we're talking about a game here...
so yea... you can drift supra (i drift 1000+hp supra) and you can drift rx7... remember, its all about the settings...

You must be kidding me... there are tons of supra as drift car in japan.. in this OPTION video i download from overnet... it was a blue supra with black carbon fiber hood racing a blue s15 this was at d1... the one in the supra is a well known professional drifter he is one of the judges along side of Keiichi Tsuchiya... which was driving the Blue s15... so dont say supra arent drift cars because they can be... and the result of that match between the two professional... the S15 won when it drifted the S curved... the Supra tried to do the same thing but i guess went too fast and spun out... This is why Keiich Tsuchiya is the drift king... i know that supra's arent as good of a drift car as s15 but ur fact that supra ARENT DRIFT CARS becasue YOU never seen one in a video doesnt mean they dont exist or that people dont drift Supras... and in the game i can drift a supra great... 402hp fully mod suspention...all the modifacation and sims... they are great drift car in the game too...

Also for the fact that you said supra cant drift because they are heavy... dont be ignorant dont think weight is the only factor in drifting ... chaser are wonderful drift cars they weigh more than a supra... but if your a new person who wants to learn out to drift start with a lighter car such as silvia,ae86, and other small light drift cars... but even though chaser are VERY HEAVY they are wonderful drifters... Tsuchiya himself drifted a chaser in a option movie... he seems to like it....

lemme ask you a question..
have you seen a supra in action in real life?
i've seen tons of them because i participate in a couple of motorsport events...
they are sluggish...

i said "supra is not a good platform to choose for as a drift car, but with the right settings, you can drift any car"
and i said this based on a REAL LIFE experience!
as for option videos, i've never seen one except that orange JUN supra i downloaded from the internet...
and that JUN supra didnt drift... its just powersliding

but yes you are right.. in the game, you can drift supra
its pretty easy to drift a supra in the game

no i havent seen a supra in action... you are right they are sluggish... but with the right suspention and hard work and tuning the supra can drift.... and about that jun supra... you dont think that was drifting??? There is a difference in power sliding and drifting... i dont think thats what they called power sliding but i guess thats ur opioin.... but anyways... a supra can drift maybe not the best platform to use for a drift car yeah ur right... but i seen some supra drifting on videos... so i know for a fact supra's can drift and you ur self admit to that... so... dont get me wrong im not saying supra is the best to drift in... but you said its because of there weight and i TOTALLY DISAGREE on that... if you know or seen a chaser drifting then you would know its not the weigh.... and chaser are heavier than supras.. they are better drift cars for supra's too...

alright i think we both started to make sense..
thank you for not turning this into a flame war :)
my point was "supra is not good platform as drifting cars"
your point "supra can drift"
in conclusion: with the right setup, supra can drift, or better yet, any car can drift.

as for chaser, you are absolutely right
they are heavy, BUT they have a better weight distribution than supra.. thats why the are better driftcars than supras

sorry, guys, i didn't realise i didn't make myself clear. what I meant is the supra is not a car that a hardened drifter would use. yes they can drift, yes they can drift just as well as anything else in the right hands, and they certainly aren't too heavy. I just meant they are more suited to highways as they are a touring car. cars like the RX7 and silvia were designed to be edgewise from the start. I love the supra for it's high speed prowess, i'd love to own one, but i'd have a 200sx beside it for wet nights :D

ive started drifting with the RX 7 and its pretty nice. i can get 2 minutes at trail mountain in a stock. i would like to start postin viedos but i dont no how to get um from my PS2 to my PC:confused:

That's true, but i think wut he needs is a capture card cuz Xport/Sharkports only save memory card files on your comp and there's no way to watch the replay on your comp. Just a .xpl file or something like that.

Lots of people in the GT3 Drifting forum can help you a lot into how to drift and what setups you need. Go take a visit and see for yourself. That's why there is a separate forum :)

In GT3 the Supra is a very fun car to drive. I'm fast becoming an advocate for "getting the most with the least". For the Supra, I would suggest modifying by doing tires, drivetrain, Suspension, and brake mods only, to start.
Then drive the car for a while and get a feel for its good and bad points.
Then start adding power.
I have found that up to about 600 HP the Supra is a lot of fun, and can be very fast in the right hands.
At HP levels above that, you have to make a lot of concessions. For instance, if you want acceleration out of a 1000 HP Supra, you must start in 2nd or 3rd gear. And forget Awesome handling.
As soon as you put your "foot" in it the excessive HP an TQ will cause "misbehaviour"
