Just out of curiosity, What's to keep you from building an
all motor Supra. We are after all, talking about a 3.0 liter Six that makes the same HP as many 5.0 liter V-8's.
IMHO, it seems that if you want a "trailer queen" throw money at an NA Supra and convert it to a turbo.
Yes, turbos can be quite reliable, but for the most part they can be and are, finicky creatures with a propensity for burning motors into the ground, if not
perfectly set-up and tuned.
I don't see it taking too much mechanical intervention, to start with an NA car and build it into a
better NA car.
You'd still have a fairly rare car.
It would still be plenty fast enough for the daily, or weekend grind.
And it would likely not blow up in your face.
It seems to me that if you have found the car, and have the money to buy it, but not the money to
wait for a TT Supra to come along, you don't have the money to convert an NA one to TT.
In post #16 you see the price of a
proper conversion. Unless the Supra you are looking at is a complete dog, (or a MK3 or older model) You won't find that big a price difference between the NA and TT.
You've gotten some good advice thruout this thread. Even Klos was straight, and not condescening.(a forum rarity

)
Be man enough to live with it.
You know, I've always wanted a white '56 porthole T-bird. I've seen many, but I've been able to purchase none of them.
Maybe, you are not destined to have a Supra, just as I haven't been destined to own a '56 T-bird. Life's like that sometimes.
(and suprisingly, I stayed nice and wasn't condescending once. I must be slipping

)
