Well since most of us are stay at home racers thanks to "its not the flu" we might as well have some fun and pretend we are in Australia or Sebring or wherever.

Tomorrow 90 minutes at the RBR. Pros please drive your normal G2 or G3 car, and us AMS will drive our chosen G4.
One mandatory 5 min stop. Room settings as normal with practice/qualify/race. Pace to the exit till crossing the white line marking the pit exit AFTER turn one.

After the race we will head for Le Mans for some test races. Next month is the Le Mans 2.5 hour race. BUT....in the endurance we can only select 2 or three hours. So, we can race either 2 or 3 hours or we can set the number of laps covered by a G2 in 2.5 hours plus 5 laps (so as to not cheat the slower cars out of many laps of actual racing). I vote for three hours...lets put on our big boy pants and settle into a flow and see who can stay on the track!

Is this too early for the people on European time? if so we can slip the race ONE hour till 1930 GMT. Please post here if you want this delay

The response from the community was minimal. we had six so we did some short races there and then went off around the world on a tour. Eventually two more of our European friends arrived and did an impromptu vote and guess what ... RBR is cancelled and the next three race section of our Tour will commence.
The next race is Le Mans 2.5, followed by German GP track (calling it Nurburgring is absurd... it is an artificial track located in the vicinity of the real track ) for 90 minutes and then Fuji 2.0.

You now need to select two cars to use in this segment.
Pro's need a G2 and a G3 car
Ams need G4 and G3

Also...we need at least 10 bodies to have a points race....now that most of us are slowly becoming house or Apt bound everybody should be having more spare time. Spend it here. We can have races daily if needed. So here the quarterly eblast...

another thing....it would make my job a communications tsar (yeah right!) easier if everybody either makes their phone # available so we can text (can you text someone in Europe for free??) or we all join one of the chat apps (I am not familiar with anything except Discord which I find to be confusing) Suggestions. Also if we exchanged emails I could do grang emails easily .

Also some of us would like to have a routine Thursday race for cars that we do not use routinely. Yesterday we were using @ZOPPO GT s Group c cars and we did some pursuit races based on the delta of our lap times and fun was had....until I learned how to shave two seconds off my time . in the 962 (). But we loved the racing and the cars....so lets do some pursuit races with two classes....detuned LMP1 cars ( @aceboy127 called them LMP2 cars!!) and Zoppo's group C's. I know that Thursdays would conflict with Phillip's room but perhaps we could run it either earlier or later than his. @Argon can you tell me what times he meets??

Hope everyone is healthy and bored

Dear reader, we are living through an unprecedented period in our lifetimes. The frightening Covid-19 pandemic has affected our daily lives, and sadly killed many thousands across the world. Our passion, motorsport, is also a victim.

Through this spell, spare a thought for those working in the motorsport industry. Times are tough in all walks of life, but a ‘sports entertainment’ business such as this will be hit hard. The motorsports event calendar is in stasis right now, as you can read in our analysis of the current picture, below.

With no end to this in sight, don’t give up hope. Keep listening to advice from the likes of WHO and local measures in your area, we will get through this in time. Stay tuned as we bring you the very latest developments.

The reason we will race on Thurs is because @Missedapex420 can race then, but as soon as he gets sheltered in place ( pc term for quarantined...). we will move to another day that works best for our drivers .

what do you guys think about racing Monday, Wed, Sunday. The Sunday race would be Historic for the first two weeks and Tour points races on the last two.
I am off to have the liquor store to pick up my web order....two cases of 1.5l Merlot, 4 1.5 bottles of Chardonnay , two bottles of Tennessee sippin' whiskey , two 1.5l of Bacardi Oakheart Spiced Rum , 6 bottles of Schweppes Tonic.....about two months worth. I hope the pick up at package stores continues or I will die of crabbiness before the CCPflu.

TOMORROW at 1330 Central
La Sarthe

Historic race with Group C and Touring Class.
First race 30 Minutes
Second race one hour.

The original plan for tomorrow afternoon was to have a 2.5 hour race at LeMans for classes yet to be determined Unfortunately I have been fighting a nasty allergic cold and simultaneously there has been a severe drop in attendance.
So here is the plan:

We will race in the following manner as dictated by number of drivers like the Tour does

6 drivers: we will race wherever we want and all race the same class

8 drivers we will race at LeMans in one class for a time we will determine.

10 drivers : we will race atLemans split into two classes Group C and Touring for 60 or 90 minutes

12 drivers same as ten but time will be either 90 minutes or two hours

14 and up-we will run 2.5 hours with Group C and Touring or Touring and Antik as people determine.

Looks like PD agree about slipstream plus some other changes that look really promising especially the tyre wear for FF cars that has been out of wack since forever (of course I am assuming they are reducing the wear but I may be disappointed!)

Extracted from the GTSport site:-

The following is a list of some changes that will be implemented in 'Sport' mode with the next 'Gran Turismo Sport' update.

■ Slipstream
The effect of the slipstream will be reduced.

■ Fuel Consumption & Tyre Wear Rate for Qualifying & Final
・It will be possible to set ‘Fuel Consumption’ and ‘Tyre Wear’ rates separately in the Qualifying Time Trials and Finals of the FIA Gran Turismo Championships.

■ BoP (Balance of Performance)
・Tyre wear adjustments for Gr.4 FF cars (Front-engine/ Front-wheel-drive;)
・Handling adjustments for all Gr.2, Gr.3, and Gr.4 cars;
・Fuel consumption rate adjustments for all Gr.2, Gr.3, and Gr.4 cars;

As a result, the difference in fuel efficiency will be reduced among these vehicle types.

■ Penalties
・Adjustments implemented to improve the penalty judgement algorithm.

I've got a tyre question that I can't really workout for myself as I'm somewhat inconsistent going round the track.

I ran RM for 12 laps, and then RH another 12 for laps. (on average I'm 2 secs per lap slower on RH)

What I cant work out is when the tyres go off, because this happens...

after 5 laps on RM my lap times will begin to go up and then on lap 6/7 I'll pull out a purple lap.
and then, when i'm on RH I'll pull out a another purple lap.. which I can't beat again even if I switch back to RM
