:mad:I got boned by the GT servers. I couldnt get past the 3rd corner in qualifying without getting booted, by the time I got it settled the race already started

If your behind a router try giving that a reset and possibly your modem too.

Thanks for the advice CIA and from now on maybe I'll do that before I go online and begin playing and see if it makes any difference. Resetting the modem is how I usually fix the problem, although most of my disconnects are through the game servers I believe, and have nothing to do with my equipment. A couple of times in the last week, I set up rooms online to practice with my little Cappy, was the only person in there, got punted from the room, and my own internet connection was fine....lol.

Good racing last night folks. I think it was a near full house too, which was good. I believe we had 14 starts. From what I saw everything was pretty clean racing too which is exactly how it should be.

Congratulations to Iceman on the victory.

Honestly, I'm a bit bummed. On the second lap, Cami went into a spinning dizzy out of turn one and I assumed his car would go invisible and well... If you watch the replay, I head up the hill and have a near perfect T-bone. I'm not blaming him, but I'm a bit sour over having to race the next 12 laps solo with no one to draft with till I caught up to the car ahead of me. (Hence lap 14 and 15 then became my quickest as I was going for pass) Next race...I'll do my best to avoid contact and I do apologize for putting Cami into even more trouble but this event was simply unavoidable.

Per replay...It was upon cresting the hill rather than on the way up. Either way...it was indeed spectacular.

Great Race last night! Thanks to everyone that showed up. I've posted the race results and points standing on the 1st post on the First Page. I will try and get a few pics up today. If anyone else has any feel free to post them.

We had an issue with the start and qualifying times. I had the server set to Fastest First so I'm not sure how the start got jumbled up. I will look into this.

I suggest if this happens again that everyone leave the race and set the automatic race start to 5mins to give everyone a few qualifying laps.

Not sure if it would have helped me finish higher then I did since I made a few mistakes but I wouldn't of had to fight to get from 13th to 2nd.

Just a few pics from last nights race.

From what I've read in other threads on Free Run Qualifying is you must stay on track when you have posted your lap time. If you return to the pits or exit the track to the garage for tuning your time will be discarded.

I would suggest to everyone once you finish your qualifying lap to pull off to the side of the track (Off the racing line) and wait for the race to start. Hopefully we can get a decent qualifying update to the game soon.

Reminder: Autumn Ring Practice Session Thursday Mar. 3rd 6-8PM

Just a reminder that tomorrow nights Practice Session is at Autumn Ring from 6-8PM. I will post when the lobby is up. We can run 5-10 lap practice races with practice and tuning laps in between. Car tuning will be the key to this track as the Grand Valley tunes don't work very well here. 👍

On a side note I'm glad we are done with Grand Valley East! I think I have done close to 500 miles at that track with practice and racing for this series. It will be a nice change of scenery. :)

Actually, it was on the other side of the hill. Looking at the replay of the aforementioned incident, I was battling with T-Money when I drifted over to the left side of the track and hit the wall at the edge and lost control. It was a few moments afterward when Wyvern rammed into me head-on in what truly was an unavoidable accident at 104 MPH.:scared::crazy::ouch: Needless to say that ended the competitive aspect of both of our races there. Not to mention I probably lost 3 or 4 HP from the engine as a result. It had made me wish there was a second race to run that night ala the ITCC. :(

So I've noticed. In comparison to what the fastest driver was doing, I was running roughly 4 seconds behind at first. I was able to get some advice and was able to close to within 2 seconds behind on the lap time. But I'm thinking the wreck in the earlier race inducing the reduced HP may be a factor for the slow times.

We gotta work together Cami and pull these fast chaps in next race. Based on the twenty some odd laps we did on Autumn afte GVE, I imagine will be right by each other for most if not all this weeks race.

Not sure I can make it to practice this week. Wife came home with a virus she gained from one of here students and if she wants to watch TV this evening on the flat screen...well its not a battle I'm picking. She usually heads to bed around 8:00 EST so if folks hang around in the lounge after that and I'm able...I'll be there.

Autumn Ring is a tricky course in the Cappuccino RM. We ran it a few weeks ago in Monday Night Endurances on Sports Soft tires. There are a few turns that if you don't have decent throttle control on the exit you'll find yourself eating wall.

From what I've read so far a lot of you are using the Vengence Tune. I started with this and changed LSD Accel to 17 or 18 (instead of 12) and increased the transmission top speed to 129 I believe. Others in the race (Prophet/CIAFlux) kept it closer to the Vengence Tune setup with great success as well. Maybe he'll share his setup with you? :sly:

[shameless plug]

I wanted to take an opportunity to invite everyone over to check out Monday Night Endurances this week if it doesn't interfere with any Cappuccino events. This week's race will be a 150KM Lamborghini vs. Ferrari battle at Rome. Qualifying starts at 8:00pm Eastern, race @ 8:30pm. All the details are listed in the first post.

As previously stated, I ran about 20 laps after the last race on Autumn ring with  IforceV8 and GTP_CAMikaze and noticed a great decrease in time after raising my rear height back to 0. I had run GVE w/ -8 in the rear and -5 in the front and the change back to where it ought to be decreased my lap record 1.8 seconds and by the 5th or 6th lap was already sub 1:22, where I thought I'd never be. I assumed with such a small powerband and weight, that the settings could probably stay very similar for any track not including a massive straight, by the severity of the corners and change in elevation on Autumn Ring has revamped my opinion.

PS: I'm grateful as well to be rid of GVE, but its hollow. After running these new settings..I went back and ran GVE...Night and day. I no longer had to break before that 90 into the tunnel and even when I did my car was no longer understeering out of control. :gtpflag:

What are you guys running for setups? I have the same setup as GVE, with the gear ratios turned down to 130 mph, and the rear ride height raised as diabolicwyvern suggested. The best I could do is 1:23.8xx. My sector 1 time is not too bad, about six tenths down, but after S2 I'm often 2.5 to 3 seconds down on the fastest time.

I did a couple laps and hit a 1:21 with the same suspension settings as GVE. I will probably try to add a little bit of understeer into the car to try to cure the snap oversteer it has in a couple of the turns.

I've tweaked my setup a little from GVE. I raised the ride height to -1 front and rear. I stiffened the rear spring to 8.2 and the rear toe to +.18 and that seemed to help the rear end stay planted. With this setup I can run 1:21's. Throttle control is the biggest adjustment for this track.

Agreed, driving line can help a little too. I have noticed on one of the turns if you just off the rubbered in line the car is less likely to want to spin around.

Definitely! My first few practice laps with this car my lap times were around 1:24's but after figuring out the best lines I was able to shave 3 seconds off.

After the practice session last night it seems there are few places for clean passing. I think the race will come down to good qualifying and fewest mistakes.

I think I figured out the qualifying mishap from the last race. When I fired up the game yesterday I got a message about the time and date being incorrect. During the practice session everyone's timing and scoring was messed up. I quit the game and set my ps3 to update the time and date via the internet (which I always have it set but somehow it had changed to manual). That seemed to fix the qualifying times and everyone started in the correct place for the practice race. 👍

Going into turns 1 and 5 are probably the 2 best passing areas. Also if you get a good run going into turn 8 you can make a pass there. The rest will be not making mistakes in the esses like you said.

If there are still openings come race time it looks like I'll be free tomorrow and would like to jump in the race as a field filler.
