That was probably the best race I've ever driven. It seemed like all of my laps were within .5 seconds of the previous lap and I only made 2 or 3 minor mistakes all race. Even my launch off the start felt awesome.

I was kind of shocked to get the pole position with only a 1:20.0xx after the practice session we had on Saturday where xxiceman2403xx and iforcev8 were running very quickly in quals and also during the races.

A few last minute tweaks to my setup at 7pm and I found some speed that made me feel comfortable about my chances to race with those guys but I didn't think I'd be able to run away like that.

I guess it just makes up for last week where I knew I was the fastest guy on the track ,got stuck starting in the back and couldn't work myself up through traffic.

Should be an interesting battle for the championship with the three leaders within 2 points of each other. At this pace iforcev8 is going to have to drop a 2nd place finish at the end of the season ;)

Wanna give a shout out to my boy Prophet (CIAFlux) and my new friend MadMax86 from Finland for the practice sessions this week. Without you two I wouldn't have had the pace I did this week.

I ran 12 seconds faster from Sunday to Tuesday and fared no better :indiff:

I think not having a drafting partner is really sapping me of a precious second each lap. My top speed heading into Turn 1 was only 109 mph and I achieved that once or twice. I think if I could have hit 112 or so, I could have closed the gap much sooner.

My question to those up front: What speeds were you reaching heading into 1?

I was hitting 111mph before braking into turn 1. I ran most of the race by myself trying to catch up to Yuritardid and never really caught a draft either.

Still 2 mph more...I was full gas from the slight s through finish into turn 1. Its not much, but I'm certain even an extra mph would have shaven a few seconds over the course of 20 laps. :(

I ran that course till I was  in the face and never hit 110 alone. I'm going to blame it on the auto trans not getting into the power band soon enough that way I know its not my fault.

Just going back over difference between Sunday and Tueday and everyone who ran both shedded at least 12 seconds between the two days. Great stuff

Yeah the Manual Transmission definitely helps with getting around the track. I would be in 5th gear coming off the last 3 turns. I forget what my aero's were set at but that would make a difference in top speed too. 👍

thats what happenig to me , my car was to large in the transmition , all the cars had more acceleration because the 168 that i have

Depends on how well I took the last section. I didn't have any draft to play with but my minimum was 112 but most the time was 113 and some 114's.

From the sweeping left hand turn I would be full throttle in 4th through the left chicane, right and then lift for a split second (engine break about 5-10 mph) into the last right picking it up half way between that turn and the last left kink at about 86 mph then shifting to 5th at the kink about 92 mph. About 105-106 at the line and then top speed before the hard braking zone into the hairpin.

Here are some pictures of a passing move I put on iceman.

It was an accidental dive bomb move though. He broke earlier then I thought and I ended up breaking a little late (maybe that was what he was planning to do since I have used that trick before).

Replay made it look like there was slight contact but in the race I felt nothing and during the race I thought it was going to be hard contact but my car held its line over the rumble strip and all was good. He got the place back a lap or so later I just didnt have the pace using a controller and auto transmission.

I just wanted to say that I had a great time last night guys. Thanks. My car set up was way out of whack and i didn't have time to fix it before the race start. I have it running better now, so you better watch out next week as I may break into the top 10 or 11.

I would also like to thank those who have posted pictures, and didn't include me getting lapped. Twice.

Jason

If you plan on doing this again later in the year I'll be in for sure!

Yeah I'm thinking after this season is over to have another one with the same Tuesday Night racing at 8PM. I would also like to start a Thursday Night series with the races starting at 3 or 4PM (GMT-5) so the Euro racers can get in on the action. 👍

Woo Hoo! :)

But 3pm would be too early as everyone would be at work or school at that time.

I was going to say, I know it's static pictures, but to me you should have given way because he had position on you during turn in to the corner and you should have braked and given up the position. Classic divebomb, but again, it's not video so it's hard to say.

It wasnt on purpose thats for sure. He braked earlier then I thought which surprised me and made me miss my brake spot which resulted in a dive bomb move.

Of course that might have been his plan though since he probably saw me move to the inside line and try to make me over shoot the turn and pull away from me easier.

Since there's no SuperGT round this week, I may be making a appearance for the Sunday race at Tsukuba Circuit. :)

Also, we had someone do a sub-minute lap during practice last night. that person must be on to something with the setup.

We had 2 sub 1min laps. I somehow managed to get one on my last lap.

best lap I ever managed was a 1:00.329. I need to tweak my setup, I'm understeering like hell whenever I'm trying to push going in that last turn.

I'm still not on the signed up list on the OP? Need to put in some more practice before the race, I've only had one 15 min session of testing. And to be honest I thought this thing would be a piece of cake w/out Aids and it certainly works very well but the rear end still steps out slightly at times. Slides are easily corrected though. :)

I'm trying to practice for the next season and I was wondering what a competitive lap time around Grand Valley and Autumn Ring?

Sorry I missed your sign up post. I have you signed up for the Sunday Series races. 👍
