Right now, Bredbandsbolaget is offering bi-directional 10MB connections for 330 kroner a month without limits on the download. That's round about the average price for 512/256 ADSL here in Blightyland.

So I could be on 10mb instead of 512k if I lived in Schweeden. :grumpy:

Hehe.. Yeah i think we are quite lucky. I personally think that 10Mbit/sec is _MORE_ then enough today but.. 100.. Yum.

my 1.5 mbit is actually about 0.9mbit - the lying !@#$'s from bell  - I'm supposed to get 20kb/sec uploads but i'm capped to 12  . Makes things VERY annoying when I need to upload files to friends

i use a cable conection so i have 100mbps

its not bad but once when i had to go to my moms office last year i got on her internet and it was lightning fast she used a T1 connection (which is normaly use to provide internet for an entire office building)that she had all to herself which made her internet like 1 gig. per second!I wish i had a T1 in my room!:irked:

100 mbit. :sly:

Oh Bazz you lucky sod. I used to have BBB before, but moved into a student hall and they have a deal with ****ty tele2. It's called broadband, but can't be compared to what BBB supply for roughly the same price.

well, 10 mbit sort of = 1.5 mbyte.. I think..

My download record on my old connection (BBB)with DC++ was in the area of 1.3 Mbyte / second

Actually, T1 is a constant 1.5 mb/s.

Dont know if u mean Mega bit or Mega Byte. Ten Mega bit goes within the T1 range. It is not as many think, a fixed number(or speed if that helps someone). Same with T2 and T3.
T1 usually go from 9.5Mbit AFAIK.

We don't get anything higher than cable here I think. I'm going on a 256k ADSL plan soon, anything cheap to get off this stupid 56K.

Well, it's not the speeds I'm that concerned about, it's having to dial up all the time, getting a heap of busy signals and drop outs. Oh, and not having to put up with Mum's whining about tieing up the phone all day would be nice...

Just because youre running on a 10mbit server doesnt mean that you're necessarily going to be getting 10mbit/sec downloads. Everything is slowed down a LOT. 56k doesnt transfer at 56k a sec now does it? Just the same, a 100mbit server wont ever transfer at that speed....although...it will still transfer really damn fast.

Maybe it's the goverment's long term plan for reducing crime and traffic. By offering 100Mb/sec worth of pornography from the internet, everyone will just stay home. ;)

I will say that you'll probably need a really high end PC to maximize the usefullness of that level of bandwidth though.

Ahhh.. Yeah u got me there. I was wrong. Sorry.
But then, whats a 10Mbit (full duplex) connection called?
I mean, a T1 is then "only" 1.544Mbps, about 1/8 of the connection i got.
It seem to be somewhere between T2 and T3 if i get it right?:odd:
