[Syntax error]

Well I was out at the NSW Road Racing Club's Enduro at Oran Park on Sunday. It was extremely windy and cold. It certainly kept the crowds away:

The cars where a little more openly spaced as it was an enduro, not much tussling went on:

That's not to say there wasn't any good racing... the touring guys certainly gave each other a run for their money:

Everything can be fixed with a hammer!!!!

The cold weather certainly kept the crowds away... as well as the photographers. I think there was really only one, maybe two other photographers out there, which is pretty rare really. Full set here on flickr:

Ah, you and your sunlight. XD Whenever I go to the races, it's always terribly cloudy and so all my shots look dingy.

Heh. When my attention wavers I make the trip over to another corner of the course.

I think I like the first and second shots the best. I like second photographs arrangement, as well as the blur. The first is a very good "opening" shot, as well. The sixth shot is also impressive, I know how hard it can be to get two in the frame nicely, and you pulled it off with perfect composition.

Keep up the good work, as usual. ^^

I thougt I'd throw some of my old landscapes up that I took a fair while back, just for everyones enjoyment. I'm not really all that into taking Landscapes (so don't expect too many more from me) but I do appreiciate a nice shot and the effort that goes into it.

Call me crazy but there are days that I wish for some interesting dark cloud formations so I can create some dramatic landscapesque motorsport shots

Seriously though, sometimes it’s a pain as the light is harsh, we get a lot of glare off both the cars and the track so I have to be constantly mindful of my positioning.

Oh, I would like to see that. Definitely. But in my case, I find it hard to produce any with dark cloud formations. And it's like that every time when I go there. I just want a change...

The light can be pain though. Because of a 2 minute period where the sun did shine at the races, I had to toss one of the GT3 shots I worked on today because of the Sun's glare on its window.

Ahhhh. I love these shots - especially because I've been to stanwell tops a few times, and...well, I actually live in Manly (thats a huge suprise that I see my hometown in your gallery). Do you come this way often?

I love how you captured the rock texture on the Manly shot (looking out to Shelly beach if anyones interested). You can see a couple of my friend's houses in that shot - but they are worth somewhere around $4-6m AUD for a good one (I go to a private school, so some people have serious dough).

I only moved out to Campbelltown about a year ago so that we can be closer to family but I grew up in Bondi and only until about a year ago, I was living in Neutral Bay. Actually my car dealer is in Manly were I service my car still to this day... and I work in Lane Cove so I still I am not too far from the area (Yeah I drive from Campbelltown to Lane Cove every day )

I took all the Northern Beaches shots when I was still living in Neutral Bay.

The colour is brilliant and you've kept the highlights and shadows in well. The slow shutter on the last image is superb.

Thanks, I only really sell my motorsport shots so I probably should make wallpapers of these. Maybe if I get some spare time in the future. I have the last one printed and mounted onto a board hanging in one of the rooms. (one of the few my wife will actually let me put up )

I was in one of those restless moods last night where I wanted to work on some photos but since I had a two week sabbatical from the track, I didn’t really have anything new to work on. Anyway I thought I’d throw together a little wallpaper for anyone interested. I don’t usually hand out my work for free but I thought I’d share this one with you all.

It's a shot of an S14 I took at the Drift Nationals recently. Currently it’s only available in 1902 x 1200 as I’m too lazy to resize for other monitors at present. Click on the image to download.

Very expensive oops.... I was cleaning my sensor on the 5D and it looks like I have manage to scratch it. I've cleaned my 20D a billion times with no problems using Eclipse fluid but the 5D seems more sensitive. Fingers crossed it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to fix....

Thanks Scaff. It was E2. I think I might not have the required delicate touch. I clean my 20D with it all the time with no issues, and with a little research I found out why that has never been a problem. Apparently it looks as though I've actually damaged the filter that is on top of the sensor. The 20D's filter is about 3-4mm thick but the 5D's filter is only 1.5mm or so and therefore more susceptible to damage even from the lightest touch.

You'd think that's better news that it's only the filter but Canon actually glue this filter on top of the sensor, so a small inexpensive piece of equipment replacement turns into an expensive labor intensive job. They can replace it but it needs to be done in an air locked room and there for the cost skyrockets.

I'll way up my options and get a few quotes but I don't think I can escape this one cheaply. A Very expensive mistake but lesson learnt.



Anyway, it is a setback but it didn't stop me from heading out to Oran Park for a Day/Night race yesterday. Even with my cranky mood after all the dramas from earlier in the day, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It definitely presented a new set of challenges, the most obvious being the lack of light. It was fun trying to utilize what was available.

Also the dark and ominous clouds started to roll over as the night progressed but luckily I had literally just got back into my car when the heavens opened.

Brilliant as always. Night shooting is interesting I bet. The first, second, fourth and the last are my favourites. I knew there would be a long exposure shot involved in one of the shots. I haven't had the opportunity to do that yet, but I hope I do sometime, not many light around Mosport, so I would like to the see the results from that...

The last shot is my favourite of all of them, I think. I like how dynamic it looks. It's closely followed by the action of the first shot, and the beautiful composure of the second.

Dayum!!! I wish I could have gonew grrrr. I love experimenting with new light levels and that shot from the stands with the long exposure would have been what I was doing all night. Shame.

Great photos though - and I feel happy that I see an 850R in one of the shots .

I was too hard to resist doing a long exposure shot, I certainly couldn't resist. Thanks. The last shot is not a terrible good one from a technical standpoint, massive lens flair, blurry image & terribly lit but for some reason I really love that shot.
