Seems I start this thread on every forum I've been to.
This will be the modeling thread for all things mecha anime: Escaflowne, MS Gundam, The Big O, Code Gaess, etc, etc...
I'll start off with a couple of my own that I've taken recently.
Got a bit of a group photo here: From R to L - HY2M "Glorious Series" 1/60 scale MS-07 Gouf, Perfect Grade (PG) 1/60 RX-78GP01 Gundam Zephyranthes,
High Grade Universal Century (HGUC) 1/144 MRX-009 Psyco Gundam, and the PG MBF-P02 Gundam Astay Red Frame.
Red Frame posing with the Gerbera-Straight Katana.
Tiger-Pierce Katana (Special Edition)
Tiger-Pierce, Beam Rifle, and Shield
Tiger-Pierce unsheathed. (Yes, it's sharp.
)
Everyone in the battle-ready stance, and someone sticking out just a wee bit...with an axe. I wonder who it could be?
The GP01 standing tall, and no, your eyes do not deceive you his torso armor is indeed a different color. The white armor is for his conversion armor...more on that later.
GP01 pointing toward it's conversion pieces. It'll come together soon enough.
GP01 pointing towards it last conversion part, and the most important - the FF-XII-Fb Core Fighter (Full Vernian "Full Vernier") capable of 7.96G.
Left arm stripped, showing the skeletal structure beneath. Giving a thumbs up as well
Closer look at the exposed left arm. Yes, almost everything you see was snipped from a tree, sanded and pieced together. One arm alone takes about 2-3 hours,
if you're meticulous with the detail, if not you're still spending 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
The conversion (upgrade) pieces come together, and what you're seeing here is the RX-78GP01-Fb. The same Zephyranthes just faster, more agile, and
more kick ass. Standing aside to the GP01's FF-XII Core Fighter which is capable of 5.28G.
Back-side view. Look at the size of those four thrusters.
MBF-P02 Standing tall.
Back-side view aside an Ellusionist "Shadow Masters" deck of cards, yes, I do card magic.
Putting on a little Bruce Lee action.
Ready to slice before you even contemplate blinking.
Front side of the box. Sexy, isn't it?
Back side.
Second, third and a bit of the forth page of the construction manual showing the runners (trees). I forget how many runners and pieces there are in
total, and yes, that is an LED on page 3, three metal joints, and some screws.
Pages 6 and 7 of the construction manual which goes through the construction of the right and left legs.
The Special Parts box and the post (with mini construction...instructions on back for the Tiger-Pierce Katana and the display stand for both swords).
Also you get transparent pieces for most of the body. Only apart of the Initial Release version which I was lucky enough to purchase the very last one, several
hours after it was released. It went like hotcakes.
Exo-skeletal view of the Astray without any armor on, and Jason wanted to get some photo time as well. Remember that mystery person sticking a
foot and axe in earlier? Yeah, 'twas him.
Underside of the right foot revealing the rubber sole grips that were affixed manually.
All of the pictures I have as of now, at least until I get my gosh darn camera back from my aunt. Hope something becomes of the thread, and more importantly, hope you'll enjoy the pictures and possibly the captions as much as I do putting/writing them up.
