If you get a T500rs I doubt you will regret it. I have had mine just under two years, the fan is not loud at all. More like, the wheel is very very quiet. If it were as loud as a DFGT you would never hear the fan.

Good luck with your decision.:)👍

Tried it already. I'll do it again.

Best out of 7?

You will like both, both are great. Yes one does certain things better than the other, but you will have great fun with either.

This weekend, I raced a Corvette GT1 at Spa with the stock G27 (including the brake spring) and had a hoot. I definitely prefer the GTEye spring, but it was cool to just pound out a 50 minute race in full stock mode :)

Time to make a decision and stick with it, there is no right or wrong here :D

Well, I neither doubt that I won't like it... The same with the G27! - I might be a bit odd, but I guess it's the chances of it breaking down (I've read the stories in various costumer reviews) - even after 5 minutes. I think, I won't be able to get a full refund, if I open the package, from Amazon... - And thanks!

I think I'm on best out of 30 or something . I'm getting very interrested in those mods, some of you are talking about... - Will they break the warranty on either of the two wheels? - If they won't, I might look further into "the mod-world" 👍.

If you get the T500, where are you going to place it?

Because I used a small table when I got my G27, but hten switched to a self-made rig and it improved a lot. 👍

Currently, in France, you can have one G27 for US$310 tax included, and T500rs for US$460 tax included.

I personnaly tried both at home with GT5 before choosing...
G27 all the way, lot cheaper with a very good shifter, better pedals, and almost no difference in the feeling.
Diameter of the wheel bothered me, so for 10 euros, I put a real bigger one :)

I'm not sure about that yet. I might build a rig myself (if anybody got some blueprints I would really like to view them, if I may). However, as my room is very small, I want it to be able to fold away fully.
Review of the T500RS by insidesimracing
I think I've viewed the review once before, but thanks for telling me. One thing came to my mind after this, regarding the firmware, is it needed to use the wheel on PS3? As said earlier, I'm not planning on using the wheel on the PC.

I'm not sure if I can try them... The way I understood Amazon France's return policy, this should be unopened. But I'm probably wrong there...

This just show how different we are. I have no idea how anyone can say they feel the same. And the pedals of the g27 feel as plastic as the wheel :)

Your opinion is just as valid though

AFAIK, the firmware is only for PC.

That've been one of concerns... So if I don't update the firmware, the wheel should still work with GT5, right?

The wheel works out of the box on PS3. However, they implemented improvements and additional features with later firmwares. One example is compatibility with the F1-add-on-wheel. So upgrading the firmware on a PC (does 't need to be a gaming machine) is worth it.

I see. Thanks for letting me know 👍.

I've read a thread (could've been The T500 thread, but I don't recall), about getting an old version of the wheel. I should expect the V4 (or 5?), right?

Basically you can expect everything from V1 to V5. But I wouldn't give too much attention to it. When I got my V2, the V5 has already been released. I kept it and didn't have any problems so far.

Same with me, I got a V2 and have no problems with fan or whatever else people have had, so I believe its the luck of the draw really...

So, getting a V4 doesn't mean it's flawless (of course not). I suppose there's a difference, in the versions. Well, I'm still in doubt, but since it haven't arrived yet, there's still enough time to make up my mind.

The T500RS is the official wheel for GT5, the G27 isn't.

But probably already know that.

I did know that, actually 👍.

Speaking of rigs/setups/etc. - as I stated before - my room's not that big, and I would like the ability to fold away my wheel after usage. I know the WSP should be a good rig, and should fill up that demand of mine. But is there any other (and preferably cheaper) than the WSP - that I can hard-mount either the T500 or the G27 (whichever I choose) to, and still be able to fold it away after usage?

I used a RWS with a separate car seat for almost 2 years before I built my rig.
It was pretty stable. Easy to put away too.
I think there may be better wheel stands out now than V.1 RWS I used to have.
If I am not mistaken Mahnegold posted that he has a good one.

You could make your own wheel stand. Google DIY wheel stand and you'll get a lot of ideas.

If you change your mind and get the G27 instead, you could make a wheel stand out of wood (it's cheaper). The T500 is probably to strong for a wooden wheel stand, unless you always turn down the FFB.

I was thinking about a wooden one... But since the T500 could be too strong for it, I'll look for some metal. I can have a max 56*58 cm rig, with the wheel/pedals mounted. I'm not sure about the dimensions of either wheels, but both should be below 56 cm in either depth or width, right?

That matches the dimensions on the package. "Measurements in meters (L, D, H): 0,58 x 0,39 x 0,37". I thought, the package would've been a bit larger than the wheel itself, but I guess I was wrong 👍.

I'm not sure about what the wheel at the bottom is, but that's not important. As long as I make the stand for the T500, the G27 can fit, I guess.

Fanatec Porsche Turbo wheel

Yep, the G27 will fit. But it is not wise to build a stand without having the wheel, unless you make the stand in such a way that you can adjust the hight/tilt of the wheel itself, accordingly.

Oh so that's how a Fanatec looks!

I'm not sure if I can make a hight/tilt-adjustable rig, but I'll try.

Edit:I would really like to know, what everybody here would choose. I know that I have to make the decision, for myself, but simply out of curiosity. I've realised, that the reason for my doubt, could be whether or not if I'll be using the wheel, after a longer period. - Is the T500 going to be, supported in newer games?

Go for Wheelstand Pro. It's affordable and well engineerd!

I bought a T500 version (V2 "deluxe") and upgraded later to accomodate my CSP and Fanatec Porsche shifter. The upgrade was just another 20$ incl. shipping.

WSP's CS is very flexible and fast. You can buy only the stuff you need, to accomodate a different wheel on your stand. Like I did.

The T500 stand had also all the stuff included to fix G27 pedals and shifter.

So I am able now to hardmount G27 (complete set), T500+pedals+shifter or Fanatec GT3+CSP+shifter.

One stand fits all 👍

And all that with only additional 20$ to the original WSP price. :)

I was thinking about the WSP (I think I've mentioned it before, actually) but 100 euros is a lot... I'm not sure if I'm willing to spend that much. I've found some "cheaper" on Amazon (this). I'm not sure if it fits the T500, but it's shown with the G27, so I guess that one fits.

The T500 isn't too strong for a wooden stand, but you need some knowledge on how to make the wooden structure a bit more rigid. Which isn't that hard to do.
Heck, my grandpa build me a TV/Audio cabinet and I can easily stand on it. I just won't jump on it because of the poor construction of the wheels under it. lol

There are many joints for example you could use to make a solid construction. That in combination with good glue and screws or nails.
My guess is that if people can build houses out of wood, they should be able to build a solid rig too. ;)
