Tried it already. I'll do it again.
Well, I neither doubt that I won't like it... The same with the G27! - I might be a bit odd, but I guess it's the chances of it breaking down (I've read the stories in various costumer reviews) - even after 5 minutes. I think, I won't be able to get a full refund, if I open the package, from Amazon... - And thanks! If you get a T500rs I doubt you will regret it. I have had mine just under two years, the fan is not loud at all. More like, the wheel is very very quiet. If it were as loud as a DFGT you would never hear the fan.
Good luck with your decision.👍
Best out of 7?
You will like both, both are great. Yes one does certain things better than the other, but you will have great fun with either.
This weekend, I raced a Corvette GT1 at Spa with the stock G27 (including the brake spring) and had a hoot. I definitely prefer the GTEye spring, but it was cool to just pound out a 50 minute race in full stock mode
Time to make a decision and stick with it, there is no right or wrong here![]()
I'm not sure about that yet. I might build a rig myself (if anybody got some blueprints I would really like to view them, if I may). However, as my room is very small, I want it to be able to fold away fully. If you get the T500, where are you going to place it?
Because I used a small table when I got my G27, but hten switched to a self-made rig and it improved a lot. 👍
I think I've viewed the review once before, but thanks for telling me. One thing came to my mind after this, regarding the firmware, is it needed to use the wheel on PS3? As said earlier, I'm not planning on using the wheel on the PC.Review of the T500RS by insidesimracing
Currently, in France, you can have one G27 for US$310 tax included, and T500rs for US$460 tax included.
I personnaly tried both at home with GT5 before choosing...
G27 all the way, lot cheaper with a very good shifter, better pedals, and almost no difference in the feeling.
Diameter of the wheel bothered me, so for 10 euros, I put a real bigger one![]()

AFAIK, the firmware is only for PC.*snip*

That've been one of concerns... So if I don't update the firmware, the wheel should still work with GT5, right?
The wheel works out of the box on PS3. However, they implemented improvements and additional features with later firmwares. One example is compatibility with the F1-add-on-wheel. So upgrading the firmware on a PC (does 't need to be a gaming machine) is worth it.
I see. Thanks for letting me know 👍.
I've read a thread (could've been The T500 thread, but I don't recall), about getting an old version of the wheel. I should expect the V4 (or 5?), right?
The T500RS is the official wheel for GT5, the G27 isn't.
But probably already know that.
I did know that, actually 👍.
Speaking of rigs/setups/etc. - as I stated before - my room's not that big, and I would like the ability to fold away my wheel after usage. I know the WSP should be a good rig, and should fill up that demand of mine. But is there any other (and preferably cheaper) than the WSP - that I can hard-mount either the T500 or the G27 (whichever I choose) to, and still be able to fold it away after usage?
You could make your own wheel stand. Google DIY wheel stand and you'll get a lot of ideas.
If you change your mind and get the G27 instead, you could make a wheel stand out of wood (it's cheaper). The T500 is probably to strong for a wooden wheel stand, unless you always turn down the FFB.
