I've just deleted over 40 off-topic posts from this thread. You want to talk about he sports you play, then take it to the correct sub-forum.

If you wish this thread to remain open then keep it on-topic, fail to do so and it will be locked and infractions issued (which would see a number of you leaving GT planet for good).

Sorry about that. Will try better next time.

Ya'll mods be hating on our off topic discussions.

And you think that's a constructive comment?

Either take the AUP (which you agreed to when you joined) seriously or risk you membership and the future of this thread.

So what you're saying is that someone should go to the general discussion forum (excuse my ignorance, I don't know what it is called, I never go there) and make a thread called "Sports, Team Hydro 2.0" and "Our interests, Team Hydro 2.0" and so on, for every topic the team wants to discus, and they can't just use this thread for all the topics the team wants to discuss?

Thats what i don't understand, we have fun talking about what interests us and nobody has a problem with it. So I don't know whats the problem. Yeah the AUP policy, but everybody forgets about that once in a while. And who is going to go through making another thread for that specific thread.

I would not want to add fuel to the fire, but I do want to say some things. Just my two cents. I have the right 👍

These "off-topic" discussions that are "frowned" upon the administration of GTP are topics that are spontaneous. If we talk spontaneously about sports, we won't go and make a new thread just for that. This is where Janco's post is correct.

Now, I have throughly read the OP (despite my 3 infractions, yes.) and I must say that there is no actual rule that implicates that one must not post spontaneous off-topic discussions on a thread. Unless, on Rule No.9 of the Acceptable Use Policy which states "You will, if asked by a representative of the forums, cease posting any content." If that is what the moderators of GTPlanet are trying to imply that off-topic discussions are not allowed, then that is understandable. But, then again, there is no such rule in the AUP that states that off-topic discussion is not allowed.

Of course, this is solely my two cents, and I believe I can say this as nothing in the AUP states that I cannot do so 👍

If you want to talk about which sport is best then go to the sports sub-forum and either find a thread on that topic or start a new one.

This thread is for the discussion of events directly related to your team and its events, anything else is off-topic.

I would also ask why, if you want to chat about something you don't use the social group that Team Hydro already has....

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/group.php?groupid=568

...but be perfectly clear, off-topic conversations and slow-chat will see this thread locked.

Its also not the first time this thread has been warned about this either.

It certainly does come in that part of the AUP, as the site owner gives the staff the discretion on the topic. A 40+ post off-topic slow-chat is not a minor issue and given this threads previous warnings it alone is grounds for a lock.

You are free to state it, but please be aware that the subject is not open for debate or discussion and neither is this thread the right place to discuss it.

You are if you wish this thread to remain open and your account to be free of infractions.

I am not a member of the team, so I do not have acces to the group page.

There is a certain amount of people that post on here (GT5 Drag racing forum) all of which mostly have each other on their friends list on PSN. So if I wanted to discuss sports with those people, I would have 3 options:
1. Make a GT5 drag racing group on GTP and add all of these people so we could discuss sports or whatever
2. Talk to them about it on GT5 or PSN.
3. Start a topic in the sports subforum then PM everyone that I made it if they want to post in it.

This would have to be done every time I want to discuss anything other than drag racing with people I drag race and talk here.

Also how can one that is not the OP determine what is off-topic? If it is about what sports Team Hydro 2.0 think are the best, it has a direct connection with Team Hydro 2.0. Common sense...

It's Team Hydro 2.0's thread, so Team Hydro 2.0 should be the one to determine what it on and off topic, I however don't want to be cloughing up this with an argument I know I can't win... I'll leave it there.

Yes it would , which is exactly what every member of the site does (staff included).

Its not Team Hydro's thread, its GT Planet's thread. As such its the site owners choice (he is after all paying for the place - Team Hydro are not) and we enforce the AUP as he has asked up to do.

Number three is partially correct; Start a new thread in the appropriate section if one doesn't already exist but there's no need, although you're free to do so, to PM everyone that you've done so. If they want to post in it, they can go to the proper section and do so without a PM.

The OP doesn't define the topic, the section does. This thread is in the GT5 drag racing section. As such, discussing anything other than drag racing in GT5 is off topic.

Also, throwing "Team Hydro 2.0" in front of everything comes across as an attempt for it to be a discussion only for Hydro. It's a forum. Things don't work that way. If you want a private discussion, take it to your group.
It's Team Hydro 2.0's thread, so Team Hydro 2.0 should be the one to determine what it on and off topic
Incorrect. See above. If everyone posted whatever they wanted wherever they wanted, you'd never be able to find anything.

The forum sections are set up for a reason. Please follow them or lose the thread.

If you started discussing finances which I am not getting into, but just a question: what costs the site owner more, a new group/thread that dies after a day and would still contain 40 posts, or 20 off topic posts in a already made, very much alive thread?

I am not sure about how the site is supported and all but I think (can't see from the mobile app) Slashfan, the OP and leader, is a premium member which cost him some money, so he basically is paying for this site therefore this thread...

EDIT: I see Slash is not premium but I think he was at one point.

One would not cost Jordan any more than the other. The difference would be that one is in the correct section and the other isn't and is off topic.

A Premium member pays for added benefits associated with being Premium. You'll notice that those benefits do not include deciding how GTPlanet is run or organized nor does it give them carte blanche to decide what is on or off topic.

Whether he's Premium or not (which you've found to be the latter) still wouldn't make it his thread; supporting the site via Premium membership does not entitle said person to do anything they want, Premium members have to follow the AUP the same as everyone else.

Also, website fees work nothing like in your example.

I get what you are saying, I know it is your job to do so, however it doesn't make much sense to me and some other people, maybe you should listen to our wishes/requests sometimes, you know, to make this a bit more friendly for the drag racing community.

But who am I to judge. Keep up the good work.

Then join their group. ;)

Bottom line is this - no one else has a problem with how the site is layed out and run. It's mostly the Drag and Drift sections. More specifically it's mostly this group. Unless Jordan decides to change things up, keep the discussion on drag racing in GT5 and you have nothing to worry about. Stray from that topic and expect it to be locked.
But who am I to judge. Keep up the good work.
Although I sense a huge pile of sarcasm, thanks. :)

Ok, we are done here. One more off topic post from you gets this thread locked.

Back on topic.

What time are other people getting in the MR2 GT-S '97, because I have never raced one online, so have only really known of my tune, which I don't know the quality of.

This is my time...

Janco don't be off topic lol. Don't get our hydro thread locked even if you aren't in hydro... You can join of you want... Lol.

But CGG I tuned one before, don't know exact model and ran high 10's.

looks about right for a black screen launch time CGG

Black Screen. I couldn't get any more out of it in the short time I'm spent tuning it. I might give it another go, because I think it'll get into the 10.6xx's.

Before 2.11 I got mine into 10.69 but I havent re-run it in the new update

10.745 is a properly good time though 👍

Cheers. I like lower powered rear wheel drive cars.

I hope it doesn't go that route, I enjoy looking after this thread. :nervous:

I've spoken to Scaff. Stay on topic and we're fine.

Sounds good. Thanks to all the Hydro boys who participated in week one of the tournament!
