Too bad with the disconnect. Was a really fun start to the race. PC2 can be frustrating at times.
Real shame about the DC... only 2 GTE cars finished...
@IfAndOr you and Vickers had a really close race all the way, must have been quite fun.
I thought I would finish 2nd but then keiros' pit crew did the same to him.
Did you have your tyre change set to "recomended" in the pit strategy?

I did. I thought they'd change the tyres when then they were at least half worn. But no, here's some fuel now carry on! I couldn't catch Gavin at the end so just managed my tyres (what was left of them).

I was planning on setting up multiple pit strategies before the race but the hour previous didn't go to plan at all. I nearly didn't make it! There was a list of things that went wrong. Even at race time my modern wouldn't reboot, the invites didn't work then the game lost my wheel. To cap it of I just managed to finish my first out lap and it started raining. :boggled:

Never mind the race went OK.

I messup up my pit strategy on earlier practice race so I had to change the strategy manually by Car manage menu during race. I almost run out of fuel. Finally when I thought my strategy was ok I went to pit and on exists I didn't have control of car as AI was driving and he/she was really slow driver
Again chance of strategy and back to pit with driver swap. After that pitstop strategy works. So I made 7 pitstop  when 4 pitsops should have been enough normal strategy.
On last lap I run out of fuel 300 m before finish line but luckily I had enough speed to cross the finishline.
Knee hold ok and I had fun.
Well done everyone:cheers:
Thanks @Tavilha

To top mine off, as well as the random wheel glitches, my in car menu was completely blank! I was stuck with my default strategy which was full refuel, full tyre change and full repair haha!

You were really consistent mate well done, great fun and thanks to @Tavilha for organising and inviting me to race. Next endurance race soon please Tavilha!

That's me, never that fast but usually consistent. As long as it's not consistently crashing it's OK. :P
At least you got some tyres during the race. I think my pit crew were trying to save money!

A bit shorter than 2.4 hours @Tavilha if you're thinking of running another. My arms are still aching. :)
How about two 1 hour races with a short break in between?

I had thought about 1.2h of Bathurst, 2.4h of Spa, 2.4h of Dubai, 0.6h of Silverstone (but this is just 36 mins), and of course the Mother of all Endurance - 2.4h of Nürburgring.
I'll see what I can do. I'll be on holiday on the date of 24h of Spa, so I can't organise it on the same date.

Did you know there's a 32h race at Portimão (Autódromo Internacional do Algarve). I think the first edition of this madness was in 2014 - http://www.maxiendurance.com/

How about a 3.2h race at Algarve in November, with the same classes and rules? :scared::crazy::dopey:

Results
Having reviewed the replay (sadly it only recorded 40 mins of the race), lap times, and there having no complaints about foul play, no penalties were issued post race. Official results are as follow (note that LMPH and LMP1 are together in only one class)

Last but no least, here's my complete onboard stream

I was slowest with LMP1 but it was huge fun anyway. What a scenery - nice sunset, dirty windscreen and ect.

It was my first endurance race (I had 1 or 2 in GT6 few years ago, but GT6 is much simpler so I don't count it), so I have few questions:
What fuel map do you use for endurance race. I used Rich in the first stint, but fuel were enough only for 8 laps (seems hybrids did much more?). At night I switched to Normal and was about 6 seconds slower (OK, half of them due night), so it is a big question is fuel saving is faster strategy.
At night my tyres (especially fronts) were almost cold - do you use different tyres pressure for night time?

I guess you would need to test the fuel mapping. It didn't actually work at all for most cars. So it would reduce the power output but not the fuel consumption. This was apparently fixed with patch 6. I am not sure if anybody has tested this in detail yet.

Generally, I don't think reducing the fuel mapping is a good idea on a power track.

In my LMP2 I reduced my fuel mapping to normal during the first few laps because I was trying to match my tyre wear amount. But since my pit crew didn't change the tyres at all I might have well not bothered with that strategy. It did seem to lower the fuel consumption rate, I even briefly set it on low when the fuel was nearing empty on one lap. It also reduced my speed of course.

Tyre pressures? No idea about those. Other than lowering my down force slightly my car was untuned.

How about a 3.2h race at Algarve

Only during the race did I find out that the 919 doesn't let you configure the fuel map, so I used rich all the way. I slightly miscalculated the fuel for the last stop so I had to lift the throttle for a lap instead of tweaking the fuel map. I don't think you gain a lot in consumption with a leaner mixture, vs how slower you get. I bet it varies from car to car, so it's probably something that needs testing.
Tyre pressures are a bit more complex than this but the basics is: a hotter tyre generates more pressure and more pressure in a tyre generates more heat.
Every tyre has an optimum hot pressure - in real life, this comes with each brand's specs; in PC2 this is very useful: http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=1402057
So ideally you have to set the cold pressure in order to match the intended hot pressure. At night, the track is colder, so you probably have to increase your cold pressure a bit.
Closing your brake ducts to keep your brakes warm is another good strategy to heat up the tyres, but beware of overheating during the day...
Look for Yorkie065's videos on YouTube about tuning in PC2. He covers pretty much every aspect of this
