Well thanks for the support fristly and then I wasnt exspecting a full on political debate but says you think you know people then they surprise ya lol. All good tho and im with king on the dole front. I got made redundent and.ended up signing on last year. Tho the snotty woman said they needed proof id veen made redundent when I pointed out id rather be sat in a lions cage with a wet towel flickin.his love spuds with it than being sat there she seemed to change her mind about needin to see the letter lol. Tho they are useless lol. Anyways might get chance.to be online around half 9 for a bit be good to catch up.

Anyone know how to make my connection better.
It used to be brilliant 100% connection before on both my old ps3 now i only have 1 ps3 connected to the internet and im getting 40-60% connection and cant stay in a lobby for more then 3 minutes. Thats why i havnt been online as much.

It seems stupid but it happened to me. Check that the Ariel in your router is tight. If its not it loses strength.

If it's not already, sit it on it's side, don't stand the PS3 up.

Mine get's 20-25% better signal sat down, I think it's something to do with how the internal antenna feeds data into the air, if it was omni-directional it wouldn't matter but apparently it's not.

My ps3 has been in the same place since i got online back in 07-08. The connection was excellent, Now iv got this replacement ps3 as my blu ray reader broke on my last ps slim and now the internet just keeps playing up lagging out or cant hear people at times

It's been proved, I think, that these "replacement" PS3's are actually 2nd hand ones that have gone faulty and they've just refurbished it a little bit so it works to a certain standard. My mate got a replacement PS3 and it YLOD'ed on him within a week :scared:
 
There's a couple of things you could try dude.

1) You can try DMZ'ing the PS3 through the router, that way there's no firewall or services blocking the PS3 to connect to PSN or gaming servers.

2) Get a metal coat hanger and some tin foil, bend the coat hanger around the router and then wrap the tin foil around the coat hanger. Then place it under the router to boost the signal (I won't go into how it works, as it's basically a whole physics lesson.)

3) Like Klick said, stand on it's bottom. For some reason the cases of the PS3 seem to be pretty heavy duty things, so the signal range between the wireless card and the connect tends to be reduced because the microwaves have to defract through the case and the wireless card seems to be place on the left-side, towards the back, of the console, not in the center. :eek:

they are refurbished ps3. they just change shell to make it better for the new user.

My first fat ps3 got ylod in december 09. i got that replaced and withen 1 hour of recieving it it got ylod. they replaced that at the time i bought a ps3 slim. So i had 1 slim ps3 and a fat 1. then in nov 11 I was playin TDU2 and my disc drive started making loads of noise like it was failing to read disc then the music stoped and 2 minutes later it froze. The blu ray reader faild and i only had enough time on a disc game to send a car and few paints to someone. So i was playin downloaded games till december when some ******* stole my fat ps3 that had nothing wrong with it. I called sony and told them i bought the ps3 in feb11 and they gave me a free replacement :sly: i really bought it in december 09.

Well this is my ps3 lifestory Lol


Oh and when someone walks past my bedroom door the internet cuts out.

Iv always layed my ps3 flaty never stood it up.


Whats DMZ'ing?

I might give sont a ring and complain that the wireless card in my system is faulty.

Any pictures on how to do coat hanger thing. i dont understand from text. I like pictures

im pretty lucky, ive only had 1 replacement ps3 since the day the 40gb version came out and there was nothing actually wrong with it, it was me having a herp derp moment, i was playing on a HD tv them i put into a SD tv without changing the settings so the video was through the scart lead not the HDMI lead so i got a new 1 hahaha but the only problem iv had with the 1 i have now is that it overheats pretty easily and the fan comes on and it is louder than a vacuum cleaner. not too bad for having it 4 and a half years :D

shame i cant say the same thing about my tv, it broke 2 weeks after the warranty ran out :'(

Been in the hospital since 6:30am everything's looking well and the nurse said she thinks a few more hours and everything will be over don't want to go into too much detail as im scare of the mod's :sly: :dopey:
