I was just wondering what kind of luck people have been having with Techno/Trance Cd's on the market. I'll post my good luck stories, and feel free to share your own.

  • DJ Icey - Essential Mix
  • DJ Tiesto - Summerbreeze
  • Epop
  • Paul Oakenfield - Ibiza Discs
  • Prodigy (well, you probably knew that)
  • Trance All-stars - Synergy II
  • Trance All-stars - Worldwide
  • Trance Mix USA, vol. 4
  • Tribute to Prodigy

this is only a small sampling of my collection :D

Ministry of Sound The Annual 2004 was a piece of garbage, DJ Tiesto sucks arse and Paul Oakenfeld is starting to suck as well.

I'm starting to listen to a LOT of oldschool and ambient now since the newer music is as bad as new rap.

Please fall over and die, you evil ****ing bastard. :)
:p

Seriously though. Have you heard the Nyana cd's? Great stuff. Granted, thats the only Tiesto I've heard (not counting remixes etc...).

Here are some great ones I have:

46 Old Skool Rave Anthems From The 90s
DJ Quicksilver - The Clubfiles
ministry of sound-the annual 2004
M-O-S - Trance Nation Harder (2cd)
The Annual 2003 Spring
Trance Nation 2003
Darude - Before The Storm
Darude - Rush
(I know I'll probably get bashed on this but his music did get me interested in the genre. I mean, come one! Look what I posted above that! :D)

*edit* AHH! How could I forget?
DJ Tiesto - Nyana
Chicane - Easy To Assemble
DJ Sammy - Heaven (I know that the song Heaven is very played out but there are some great songs on that cd. Vive El Presente comes to mind :D)
Paul Oakenfold - Bunkka (eat it emad! :p)
ATB - Addicted To Music
MOS - The Annual Millennum Edition
Hed Kandi - Beach House (I know it's House but it's good nonetheless. :p)
Paul Van Dyk - Global
The Best Of Trance - 2002
Daft Punk - Homework
Daft Punk - Discovery

I'm also *Ahem* acquiring DJ Tiesto - Magik 1-7. :D

*/edit*

I'll give Tiesto credit only for In Search of Sunrise. Oakenfeld has lately started to dissapoint me - his older stuff was better. My problem with Tiesto is that too many of the songs of his I've heard were either ripped off from other people or had so much going on that it was just information overload and sounded like junk.

By the way, the MOS Trance Nation series was just superb 👍...and anything from Chicane is to die for :D

If you like low-tempo stuff, give Thievery Corporation: Richest Man in Babylon a try. They're the group that got me REALLY downloading trance...and they're the group that got me to start listening to jazz.

I pretty much just make my own Techno/Trance discs. ^_^ But I guess I would buy a Paul Oakenfold or Paul Van Dyk CD if I happen to see one sitting in a store.
I'm kind of surprised no one mentioned Schiller, "Das Glockenspiel" and "Dream Of you" are great tracks of his.

I listen to an Australian DJ by the name of Nick Skitz. Hes got about 17 cd's out with no stop techno/dance all the way through. The cd's are called "Skitzmix", keep an eye out for them, but i doubt that you could find them in the US

I'll have to check out In Search For Sunrise. ;)

Also, you are obsessed with Richest Man In Babylon, aren't you! :p

yes, I am obsessed with Thievery Corporation - I've got all their albums and I've got several others made under the label they're under - ESL Music. Indie trip hop all the way man :p
