Like every fighting fan uses those letters and numbers to represent button commands. From what I learn you mean like this:

FU+4= Forward, Up + Circle
DF1+3 = Down, Forward + Square and X

Is that right?

People in tekken use the 1, 2, 3, 4 numbers to represent the corresponding attack buttons on a pad or controller and those F, B, U, D and other combination to indicate certain movements of the stick or pad.

Soul Calibur is different since people use the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 to indicate pad or stick movement and uses the A, B, K, and G to indicate the button for attack and gaurd.

I'm glad they brought a character with similar... moves to jun kazama. i really enjoyed using her unending combos in tekken 2. Its a great game, but i wish i could make the AI harder...
THe ai is much better than 4 but sometimes i can get away with rediculous things that i wouldnt be able to in the arcade against a good human.

I think Namco should stop doing clone things with characters. Like how Asuka and Jun are similar. Especially how they would replace one character with another character that is very similar, like Michelle and her sister. They should also allow you to pick old favorites in non story mode so everyone can be satisfied to have their old favorite in.

anyone know the IWP for king o0? wasn't it like FU+ 4 then DF1+3?

The notation is :

u/f+4, f+2,2 into f, hcf+1 (bascially you do the hop kick, into the forward 2,2 and then perform the giant swing).

The other way to pull this off is instead of a giant swing, you do f,f,f 1+3 (iSW, short for Instand Shining Wizard).

IMO Kings best moves all stem from his guard stun. ANd you need to learn to spam out his Tombston, d/b, f+2. Best move ever with king.

ANd I would probably own many people in this thread, mainly Saleen, in Tekken 5.

Tekken 4 was horrible, worst fighting system ever, Jin was broken, and it sucked.

I never think that Im the best at any game... because I always play better people, its good practice...Tekken online O.0 it would lag so much and there is some glitches some people may find out I think like Kazuya's triple uppercut ...I don't know exact details but who knows

Yeah, I think that'd be the main problem with Tekken online, or any fighting game for that matter. Er...did anyone play Mortal Kombat's online mode? I wonder if it had any lag/unresponsiveness issues.

2D fighteres are far less demanding in accuracy than 3d fighters. DOA Ultimate had lag issues too.

Did anyone recently have a new favorite character now? Mine is now Feng Wei! I have never seen a chinese man so muscular like him and he got the intimidating look. He is the kind of a man that doesn't need to yell to get me scared. All he got to do is do some of his poses and I am gone....

I am trying to workout some combos right now without watching Tekken 5 matches and combo videos. I am happy that I got a 6 hit combo that works. 👍

I used to like Jin in all the tekkens apart from 3 when it was a draw between him and Paul. Now in tekken 5 im getting a bit bored of Jin and am currently training with Raven who im quite impressed with at the moment 👍

True true.

But I wouldn't say Kazuya is similar to Jin. At least not anymore. Jin is a much more unique character now then he was in Tekken 3/4

You didn't see the option to "customize" characters?

It costs money to buy costumes.. and making money means beating opponents in arcade mode, finishing story mode, and doing that stupid Devil within game.

Slick Rick, you just missed out on some fun then. Its pretty cool that you can custommize your favorite tekken characters, but not really a whole lot.

BTW, I think Devil Within is a cheap Tekken mini game. I hope Namco won't attepmt to make a spin off for Devil Jin like Death By Degrees. 👎 Unless it really is going to be really good.

One thing I've noticed about Tekken 5 is it's final boss, Jinpachi, is easier to beat than Night Terror in SCIII! Maybe it's because I know Tekken very well unlike SC which I've only played sporadically. Still the learning curve in Tekken is less sharp than SCIII. My nephew has started getting to grips with Tekken, but the "Tales of Souls" mode in SCIII slaughters him everytime. It's not a novice friendly game.

night terror in SC? o0 I thought SOUL CALIBUR was the boss but oh well. Sc is a different system ...jinpachi cheats like a cheater o0

Once you figure Jinpachi out he's actually quite easy.
